Fantasy Tip: Owners need to monitor the situation because the severity of injury is not known at this point. There is a chance he could sit out a game or two to allow the injury to heal. Owners in daily leagues may need a replacement in case Altuve is out of the lineup.

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve credits hitting coach John Mallee with his breakthrough at the plate. He entered play Wednesday, July 9, leading the American League in average (.341) and stolen bases (41), and he leads the majors with 126 hits and 39 multi-hit games. "Man, I think he's the one who's having a good season for me," Altuve said. "We are working together and early this year we talked about doing some changes about mechanics, and obviously it's helped me a lot. He's a guy that should be in the All-Star Game for me."

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve continued to stay hot with three hits and two more stolen bases Sunday, June 29, against the Detroit Tigers. He finished the series against the Tigers by going 9-for-14, and he currently leads all of baseball with 116 hits. Altuve has stolen a career-high 36 bases on the year, and he set a franchise record with a steal in six straight games. He also became the third player since 1904 with four straight games with multiple stolen bases, joining Ray Chapman in 1917 and Bill Dahlen in 1904, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
