The Minnesota Twins will only need to address SP Nick Blackburn's (quadriceps) turn in the rotation once (May 26) because of the team's off day Monday, May 21. Ps Anthony Swarzak and Brian Duensing are both candidates for the start Saturday, May 26. However, SP Liam Hendriks, who is 1-0 with a 1.54 ERA and 12 strikeouts with Triple-A Rochester, could be another choice.

The Minnesota Twins are expected to option SP Liam Hendriks to Triple-A Rochester Monday, May 7. It is announced the prospect P Scott Diamond will be recalled.

Minnesota Twins SP Anthony Swarzak will start Friday, April 13, against the Texas Rangers, followed by SPs Nick Blackburn and Liam Hendriks (illness). Hendriks is feeling better after dealing with food poisoning. Swarzak and Hendriks will be competing for the fifth spot on the rotation when SP Jason Marquis returns next week. Hendriks is the favorite to remain in the rotation.

Minnesota Twins SP Liam Hendriks (illness) was released from the hospital Monday, April 9, after dealing with food poisoning over the weekend. It's unclear if Hendriks will be able to join the rotation. SP Anthony Swarzak is scheduled to start again in his place Thursday, April 12.

Minnesota Twins SP Anthony Swarzak allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks over five innings in a loss Sunday, April 8, against the Baltimore Orioles. Swarzak was making the start in place of SP Liam Hendriks (illness), who was hospitalized over the weekend due to food poisoning.

Updating previous reports, Minnesota Twins SP Liam Hendriks (illness) is still in the hospital recovering from food poisoning. He could stay there for another night instead of taking the team flight to Minnesota.
