Bobby Bundy Fantasy Baseball News, Notes, Rumors and Statistics
The latest Bobby Bundy MLB and fantasy baseball news
Fri, 20 May 2011 07:25:49 -0700 High-school SP Dylan Bundy, perhaps the top prospect expected to be drafted in the 2011 MLB Entry Draft, told the Pittsburgh Pirates (No. 1 pick) and Kansas City Royals (No. 5 pick) not to select him because of fears they'll try to change his throwing program. UCLA SP Trevor Bauer, also a potential top-five pick, shares the same fears that allow long-toss sessions in which pitchers throw the ball on an arc up to 300 feet in order to build up arm strength. About half the teams in baseball stick with a strict program that limits pitchers to straight-line throws at 120 feet, which Bauer and Bundy fear would affect their arm strength. The Seattle Mariners (No. 2), Arizona Diamondbacks (No. 3 and No. 7) and the Washington Nationals (No. 6) all advocate long toss. The Baltimore Orioles (No. 4), which Bundy's older brother SP Bobby Bundy plays for, do not.
