Orioles | Dylan Bundy on innings limit

Tue, 07 Apr 2015 11:23:44 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (elbow) will be on an innings limit while with Double-A Bowie this year, which is another step in his return from Tommy John surgery. He will be limited to three innings or 60 pitches to start the year, and he'll be on that limit for his first four or five starts before being moved to four innings. He could be up with the Orioles before his innings limit for the year is reached, but he also has to earn a promotion. Bundy said he is fully healthy but needs to work on his arsenal.

Fantasy Tip: Bundy ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) was one of baseball's top pitching prospects before he needed elbow reconstruction. He's working his way back now as a post-hyper, but he's unlikely to have much fantasy value in 2015. He's worth stashing in deep keeper leagues, but that's about it.

Orioles | Dylan Bundy's season in jeopardy

Thu, 14 Aug 2014 13:53:12 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Bundy has already missed substantial development time after a 2013 Tommy John surgery. He will have to show a lot to start 2015 in the Orioles' rotation.

Orioles | Won't trade Kevin Gausman, Dylan Bundy

Wed, 30 Jul 2014 14:11:51 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SPs Kevin Gausman and Dylan Bundy are considered untouchable in trade talks at the deadline, according to multiple sources. It's likely the reason the team hasn't been able to work out a trade for Boston Red Sox SP Jon Lester.

Fantasy Tip: We don't blame the O's for not wanting to budge on Gausman or Bundy. If the two can stay healthy, they could form a very formidable top of the rotation for years to come, something that Baltimore hasn't had in quite some time.

Orioles | Dylan Bundy has work to do

Thu, 17 Jul 2014 12:30:18 -0700

Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (elbow) has given up 12 runs and struck out six in 11 2/3 innings in three starts for Single-A Frederick after giving up one run and fanning 22 in 15 innings in three starts for short-season Single-A Aberdeen. Bundy gave up six runs and six hits while walking two and striking out one in four-plus innings for Frederick Wednesday, July 16. The good news is that Bundy is feeling fine in his return from Tommy John surgery. "I'm leaving my fastball up and I've got to bury pitches when I need to and I'm not doing that. And I need to work on my times to home plate. People are stealing bases on me. There are just some things I need to work on," Bundy said.

Fantasy Tip: Coming back from Tommy John surgery isn't easy, especially for a young starting pitcher. When fully healthy, though, Bundy has some of the best stuff in the league. However, he may not be back to full strength until next season. He's still worth stashing in keeper and AL-only leagues, though.
