Mon, 29 Apr 2013 14:36:28 -0700 Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (elbow) received a platelet-rich plasma injection Monday, April 29, after visiting with Dr. James Andrews, and he was told to rest for six weeks. Fantasy Tip: The good news is that Bundy wasn't recommended to undergo Tommy John surgery. However, the injection is likely the last resort to hold off on an invasive procedure. If Bundy hasn't made progress in six weeks, expect him to undergo elbow reconstruction. The six-week hiatus will no doubt delay Bundy's return to the Orioles' rotation later this year, though.
Wed, 24 Apr 2013 13:18:35 -0700 Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (elbow, forearm) will visit with Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion on his arm Monday, April 29.
Tue, 23 Apr 2013 13:33:40 -0700 Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy's (elbow) MRI exam came back clean, but he'll still go for a second opinion with Dr. James Andrews. Bundy's injury is being called "flexor mass tightness." Fantasy Tip: The fact that his MRI exam came back clean is somewhat reassuring, but Bundy isn't out of the woods yet. If he doesn't need some sort of surgery, he still will have a long ways to go before he can get back to throwing in minor league games. Bundy probably won't be a realistic option for the Orioles' starting rotation until the second half of the season.
Tue, 23 Apr 2013 13:23:48 -0700 Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (elbow) still has pain in his elbow after throwing from 90 feet Monday, April 22, and he'll visit with Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion. Fantasy Tip: Trips to see Andrews are usually never a good sign for pitchers, and Bundy is the Orioles' top pitching prospect. He's struggled with elbow problems since late in spring training and hasn't been able to shake them since. Tommy John surgery are the three words that everyone dreads hearing, but Bundy could be looking at that possibility, which would put him out for at least an entire year.
Sun, 21 Apr 2013 09:56:28 -0700 Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (elbow) is scheduled to throw from 75 to 90 feet Monday, April 22.
Wed, 10 Apr 2013 14:17:18 -0700 Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (elbow) has been cleared to start a throwing program. RP Steven Johnson (lat) will start throwing in extended spring training Saturday, April 13. SP Tsuyoshi Wada (elbow) may throw in extended spring training also Saturday. Bundy has been playing catch without pain in his right elbow. Fantasy Tip: The team will be extremely cautious with Bundy, but if all goes well and he doesn't have any setbacks, he's an option to be recalled later this year. Look for him in keeper leagues and deep AL-only universes if that happens.
Thu, 04 Apr 2013 15:45:12 -0700 Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (elbow) threw without any issues Thursday, April 4, after dealing with tightness in his right forearm and elbow. He is starting the year on the seven-day disabled list with Double-A Bowie. Bundy's velocity was down this spring and his mechanical flaws had him "out of whack." RP Steven Johnson (lat) started a throwing program Wednesday, April 3, and he's expected to start with Triple-A Norfolk when he's ready.
Mon, 01 Apr 2013 15:17:35 -0700 Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (forearm) is dealing with soreness in his forearm near his flexor tendon, but it is believed to be common pain among pitchers. Fantasy Tip: The Orioles' top pitching prospect impressed the club this spring, and he's a candidate to be recalled later in the season. They'll likely take the cautious approach with him and make sure that this doesn't turn into a more serious injury.
Mon, 01 Apr 2013 07:31:58 -0700 Updating previous reports, Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (elbow) will need to go through a throwing progression when he returns, which puts his first start at Double-A in question.
Sun, 31 Mar 2013 21:00:48 -0700 Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy (elbow) is dealing with a mild elbow issue, according to team vice president Dan Duquette. "Dylan has some mild tightness in his right elbow which he is resting until it's resolved, which we expect to be in a couple of days," Duquette said Sunday, March 31. Fantasy Tip: Bundy will start the season at Double-A Bowie, and it is uncertain if he will miss any time. He is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball, and a must-have for all in long-term keeper fantasy formats.
