Nationals | Anthony Rendon limited to BP

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 18:10:40 -0700

Washington Nationals 2B Anthony Rendon (quadriceps) was limited to batting practice Tuesday, June 30. He is still a few days away from running and taking ground balls.

Fantasy Tip: There is no timetable for Rendon's return, but he is moving slowly in the right direction. Avoid him in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks.

Nationals | Anthony Rendon headed back to DL

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 11:18:21 -0700

Washington Nationals 3B Anthony Rendon (quadriceps) was placed on the disabled list with a left quadriceps strain Friday, June 26. 2B Emmanuel Burriss was called up from Class AAA Syracuse in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: It's been a very disappointing season so far for Rendon ($5,200, 10.4% of cap), who was just starting to turn things around at the plate. Stash him in a DL slot everywhere. Danny Espinosa ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) should once again fall into regular duty at the keystone for at least the next couple of weeks. He's definitely worth adding in deep mixed and NL-only leagues as middle infield depth.

Nationals | Anthony Rendon not in lineup

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 10:46:50 -0700

Washington Nationals 2B Anthony Rendon (quadriceps, oblique) is not in the starting lineup Thursday, June 25. He's receiving the day off to rest, but he's been dealing with soreness in his oblique and left quadriceps.

Fantasy Tip: Rendon dealt with a strained oblique during his rehab from a knee injury earlier this year, so this minor ailment is worth watching. The good news is that he's in the midst of a four-game hitting streak (8-for-15) after a slow start. Danny Espinosa ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is starting at the keystone tonight against Atlanta Braves starter Matt Wisler. Espinosa, who's hitting .284 (21-for-74) with two home runs and six RBI in June, is a midrange second base option on FantasyScore.

Nationals | Anthony Rendon ties career best

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 22:37:06 -0700

Washington Nationals 2B Anthony Rendon had four singles in four at-bats with an RBI Tuesday, June 23, against the Atlanta Braves. The four hits tied a career best.

Fantasy Tip: Rendon ($5,200; or 10.4% of cap) hadn't done much of anything lately, but perhaps he is ready to go on a hot streak. FantasyScore players will want to see more consistency before trusting him, especially at this salary.

Nationals | Anthony Rendon owns Alex Wood

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 15:22:56 -0700

Washington Nationals 3B Anthony Rendon is 8-for-13 with a homer in his career against Atlanta Braves SP Alex Wood, entering Tuesday, June 23.

Fantasy Tip: Rendon ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) is just 2-for-his-last-16 overall, but a matchup against a favorite pitcher of his could help end the slide. Rendon can be considered for use in GPP tournaments.

Nationals | Yunel Escobar will be DH

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 15:06:52 -0700

Washington Nationals 3B Yunel Escobar will serve as the designated hitter against Tampa Bay Rays SP Alex Colome Tuesday, June 16, and is batting third in the starting lineup. 3B Anthony Rendon will start at third base and is batting second, while 2B Danny Espinosa will start at second base and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Escobar ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has recorded at least one hit in seven of his last eight games and has RBI in that span. He could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore. Rendon ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has seven hits in his last six games and could be a staring option for owners. Espinosa ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is hitting .222 this month and may not be the best option for owners.

Nationals | Yunel Escobar remains out

Sat, 06 Jun 2015 07:18:32 -0700

Washington Nationals 3B Yunel Escobar (wrist) is not in the starting lineup Saturday, June 6. 3B Anthony Rendon will be the third baseman and is hitting fourth, while 2B Danny Espinosa is playing second base and batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Escobar ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is probably considered day-to-day at this time and should be avoided until he returns to the lineup. Rendon ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has three hits in eight at-bats since returning and could be an option on FantasyScore. Espinosa ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has posted solid numbers at the plate this season and could be a starting option.

Nationals | Anthony Rendon hitting cleanup

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 13:20:57 -0700

Washington Nationals 3B Anthony Rendon is batting fourth against Chicago Cubs SP Tsuyoshi Wada Friday, June 5.

Fantasy Tip: Rendon ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) showed no rust at the dish -- 2-for-4 -- in his season debut Thursday, June 4. FantasyScore players shouldn't view him as a nightly lock just yet, but he certainly appears to be worth considering. Those who were patient with Rendon in year-long formats can now finally sit back and enjoy his stats piling up, and the move to the four-hole should increase his RBI opportunities.

Nationals | Anthony Rendon solid in debut

Thu, 04 Jun 2015 21:53:51 -0700

Washington Nationals 2B Anthony Rendon went 2-for-4 with a double in a 2-1 loss to the Chicago Cubs in his season debut Thursday, June 4.

Fantasy Tip: Rendon ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) didn't show much rust, but with the Nationals' offense slumping hard right now, it is probably best to hold off on using Rendon at FantasyScore.

Nationals | Anthony Rendon playing 2B, hitting second

Thu, 04 Jun 2015 12:07:23 -0700

Washington Nationals 2B Anthony Rendon is starting at second base and hitting second in the batting order against Chicago Cubs SP Jake Arrieta in his season debut Thursday, June 4.

Fantasy Tip: The Nats obviously thought Rendon ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) was good enough to go after a doubleheader in a minor league game last night, so you should feel fairly safe running with him on FantasyScore, as well.
