Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said he is concerned about the team's situation at right tackle because OT Derek Newton (knee) and OT Brennan Williams (knee) were not able to participate in offseason workouts. "If you look at our roster, it looks good, but the bottom line is the guys aren't out there, so that's concerning for us as a team and me as a coach," Kubiak said. "I love the way Newton has worked. I think he made a lot of progress as a player last year. He played hurt at the end of the year, which was tough on him and us as a team. We drafted a young man with a lot of ability (Williams). He hasn't been out here yet." Both are expected to be ready for training camp.

Houston Texans OT Derek Newton (knee) arrived last season at 318 pounds, but his weight has increased to 330 pounds this offseason. Newton is making his way back from knee surgery, so it is likely cardio hasn't been a big part of his training regimen.

The Houston Texans indicated they are content with OT Derek Newton as their starting right tackle and allowing OG Brandon Brooks and OG Ben Jones to compete for the starting right guard job. The team could also rotate Brooks and Jones at that spot like they did in 2012.

Yates (elbow) all fully practiced and are probable.
