The Detroit Lions announced Thursday, Aug. 4, that they signed free-agent OL Isaac Sowells (Bengals) and released CB Branden Bufford, OG Pat Illig, WR Mike Moore and CB Brandon Stephens.

The list includes DE Daunte Akra (Wayne State), WR Dominique Barnes (Youngstown State), CB Branden Bufford (Howard), LB Quentin Davie (Northwestern), FB Preston Dial (Alabama), P Ryan Donohue (Iowa), LB Dejuan Fulghum (Texas Southern), WR Marcus Harris (Murray State), OG Pat Illig (Wofford), WR Jared Jenkings (Wisconsin-Stevens Point), OG Jeff Maddux (Central Michigan), LB Cobrani Mixon (Kent State), S Ricardo Silva (Hampton) and LB Narada Williams (Fort Valley State).

Wofford OG Pat Illig took part in Coastal Carolina's Pro Day and measured in at 6-foot-4 5/8, 316 pounds. Illig ran a 5.46 and 5.44-second 40-yard dash, a 1.92-second 10-yard shuttle and a 3.21-second 20-yard shuttle. He posted an 8-foot-3 broad jump, a 23 1/2-inch vertical, a 7.97-second three-cone drill, a 4.94-second short shuttle and 26 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press.
