Vidal Nuno Fantasy Baseball News, Notes, Rumors and Statistics
The latest Vidal Nuno MLB and fantasy baseball news
Sun, 09 Jun 2013 20:59:17 -0700 Updating a previous report, New York Yankees SP Vidal Nuno (groin) was placed on the 7-day disabled list at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Sunday, June 9, due to a strained groin.
Sat, 08 Jun 2013 16:24:44 -0700 New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said SP Vidal Nuno (groin) left his start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre because of a groin injury and is expected to be placed on the minor league disabled list.
Sat, 08 Jun 2013 11:55:27 -0700 New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said SP Vidal Nuno (groin) left his start Friday, June 7, because of a groin injury. Girardi claimed the injury did not appear to be serious but the team may still consider placing him on the disabled list as a precautionary measure.
Fri, 31 May 2013 12:49:24 -0700 The New York Yankees activated 1B Mark Teixeira (wrist) and 3B Kevin Youkilis (back) from the disabled list Friday, May 31, and optioned SPs Ivan Nova and Vidal Nuno to the minors in a corresponding move. Fantasy Tip: Get Tex and Youk back into your starting lineups. Youkilis is still available in less than 50 percent of leagues. He should be owned, considering the lack of depth at the third base position. Youkilis is serving as the designated hitter, with David Adams at third base.
Thu, 30 May 2013 14:11:39 -0700 New York Yankees SP David Phelps will stay in the rotation. SPs Ivan Nova and Vidal Nuno were options to replace him, but manager Joe Girardi has elected to stay with Phelps. Fantasy Tip: Phelps had a disastrous outing against the Mets yesterday, allowing five runs (four earned) and four hits in just a third of an inning. He's been decent in May besides that, though, convincing Girardi that he deserves to stick around a little longer. In deep leagues, he can be useful in spot duty.
Thu, 30 May 2013 13:54:47 -0700 New York Yankees SP Andy Pettitte (back) will return from the disabled list to start Monday, June 3. Fantasy Tip: Vidal Nuno, who is making a start this weekend, will likely be sent back to the minors when Pettitte returns. Pettitte remains useful in matchup plays in deep mixed leagues.
Fri, 24 May 2013 16:22:37 -0700 The New York Yankees activated SP Ivan Nova (triceps) from the 15-day disabled list Friday, May 24, but he will be sent to the bullpen with SP David Phelps locked into the rotation for the time being. SP Vidal Nuno is starting against the Tampa Bay Rays Saturday, May 25. Nova has struggled in his four starts this year, going 1-1 with a 6.28 ERA. "I'm not a bullpen pitcher. I never have been a bullpen guy. But if that's the role they got for me right now, I gotta do the best that I can do. I'm not thinking like I'm going to be in the bullpen for the rest of the year," Nova said. Phelps is 2-2 with a 3.83 ERA in four starts. Fantasy Tip: Nova's inconsistency and injuries have pushed him back to the bullpen, and unless Phelps falters, he might stay there for a while. It's safe to drop Nova in mixed leagues, and Phelps is worth a look in those same formats.
Wed, 22 May 2013 15:23:11 -0700 New York Yankees SP Vidal Nuno will remain in the rotation and start against the Tampa Bay Rays Saturday, May 25, with the team giving SP CC Sabathia an extra day of rest. Sabathia will start Sunday, May 26. Fantasy Tip: Nuno is an option for the pitching desperate in AL leagues, but just know that he'll likely be sent back to the minors when Andy Pettitte (back) returns from the disabled list.
Sun, 19 May 2013 10:36:26 -0700 As a result of their rainout against the Toronto Blue Jays Sunday, May 19, the New York Yankees will skip SP Vidal Nuno in the rotation. SPs CC Sabathia, Phil Hughes and Hiroki Kuroda are scheduled to face the Baltimore Orioles in a three-game series beginning Monday, May 20.
Fri, 17 May 2013 14:56:09 -0700 The New York Yankees placed SP Andy Pettitte (back) on the 15-day disabled list Friday, May 17, and will recall SP Vidal Nuno from the minors in a corresponding move. Fantasy Tip: Nuno was excellent in his first start earlier this week during a doubleheader. Consider him in AL-only universes if you need some pitching help. It was thought that Pettitte's back injury was minor, so they may just want to make sure he doesn't aggravate it.
