Detroit Lions exclusive rights free-agent RB Joique Bell, FB Shaun Chapas, WR Kris Durham and SS Ricardo Silva have signed their one-year tender offers. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said the Arizona Cardinals used double coverage on WR Calvin Johnson on almost every play and had several defenders on him at the line of scrimmage on several occasions. "Early in the season, we were facing defenses that were more prevent-type defenses, where they were just trying to prevent a big play," Schwartz said. "(They) had respect for a lot of other players. This game, they took the approach of saying, 'If Calvin can't make the play, then we're going to challenge all the rest of the guys.'" WRs Nate Burleson (knee), Ryan Broyles (knee) and Titus Young and TE Brandon Pettigrew (ankle) all were not active last week. WRs Kris Durham and Brian Robiskie and TEs Tony Scheffler and Will Heller had a combined seven catches for only 77 yards. The Atlanta Falcons are expected to employ similar tactics as the Cardinals in order to try to take Johnson out of the game in Week 16. Johnson still managed 10 catches for 121 yards against Arizona.

Detroit Lions WR Kris Durham was targeted nine times during the team's Week 14 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He caught four passes for 54 yards during the game, including a great diving grab in the second quarter. Durham and QB Matthew Stafford have history, as the two roomed together at the University of Georgia. Durham has been living with Stafford since signing with the Lions earlier this fall. During the team's Week 14 game, Stafford was expecting Durham to run a different route than he did which led to an interception. The two simply weren't on the same page, which they both accepted blame for.

The Detroit Lions placed WRs Titus Young (knee) and Ryan Broyles (knee) on the Injured Reserve Tuesday, Dec. 4. The team sent Young home twice in the past three weeks due to behavior issues. Also, the team released S Erik Coleman, WR Kris Durham was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad and signed free-agent S Tyrell Johnson (Vikings) and WR Troy Burrell (Lions) to the practice squad.
