Seahawks | Doug Baldwin set to play

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 18:47:43 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) was a full participant in practice Friday, Sept. 23, and he was not listed on the injury report for Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: With Russell Wilson banged up and the Seahawks struggling on offense to open the year, Baldwin is a WR3 against the 49ers.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin a full go

Thu, 22 Sep 2016 20:56:36 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin has become Seattle's go-to weapon in the passing game, and as long as the reports on his knee remain positive, he should be fine starting option against the 49ers in Week 3.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin expected to play

Wed, 21 Sep 2016 21:39:36 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) is expected to play in the Week 3 game against the San Francisco. Head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday, Sept. 21, that Baldwin is "on track to play." Carroll said Baldwin's injury was a "little knee twist," and tests revealed no significant damage.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin has been a decent low-end WR2 in most fantasy leagues, but due to his health he should be treated as a WR3 in Week 3.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin listed as limited

Wed, 21 Sep 2016 17:41:46 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin is expected to play this week, but owners should monitor the situation during the week. He caught only three passes for 20 yards in the last game but should be more involved in the passing game in Week 3. He should be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in most leagues.

Seahawks | MRI negative for Doug Baldwin

Mon, 19 Sep 2016 14:28:26 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin's (knee) MRI came back negative Monday, Sept. 19, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Seahawks have now survived at least two scares from Week 2 with Tyler Lockett and Baldwin, their two best receivers, avoiding serious injuries. As is the case with anyone who is newly injured, Baldwin's participation in practice this week should be closely monitored. He'll remain in the WR2 conversation this week against the San Francisco 49ers if he is able to go.

Mon, 19 Sep 2016 05:20:13 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee, back) will have an MRI Monday, Sept. 19, for a knee injury he suffered in Week 2. He also experienced back spasms during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin had a quiet three catches for 20 yards in Week 2 after a big Week 1 performance. He has a good matchup against the San Francisco 49ers next week, but we'll know more about his status after the MRI.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse had most snaps

Mon, 12 Sep 2016 14:39:38 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WRs Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse each played 70 of 82 possible snaps (85 percent) in Week 1. WR Tyler Lockett was in on 62 of the 80 snaps (76 percent).

Fantasy Tip: Kearse appears to be the No. 2 wide receiver behind Baldwin for now. The Seahawks may be using Lockett a little bit less in order to better preserve him for his integral return specialist role. Going forward, Baldwin is a weekly WR2 as long as Russell Wilson is healthy. Kearse is more of a WR4 consideration, while Lockett is in low-end WR3 territory. Lockett is arguably the Seahawks' best playmaking threat and has even more value in leagues that reward return yardage.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin has solid afternoon

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 22:25:23 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin posted nine receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. He was targeted 11 times, including for the game-winning score in the fourth quarter.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin has emerged as a stud fantasy receiver over the past two seasons and normally he should be treated as a legitimate WR2 in most formats. However, he faces a tough matchup in Week 2 at Los Angeles, and Russell Wilson suffered an ankle injury, so treat him more as a WR3 in the upcoming week.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin missed practice

Sat, 06 Aug 2016 07:14:55 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (leg) did not participate in practice Friday, Aug. 5, but was able to do some running and caught passes from quarterbacks. He had his leg stepped on earlier in the week but should return soon.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin probably will return to practice in a day or two and should be fine moving forward. He had an unbelievable stretch of games in 2015 and should be a main part of Seattle's passing game this season. He can be considered a No. 2 wide receiver in most leagues and should be a weekly starting option.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin incredibly effective

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 10:09:54 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin was one of the most effective pass catchers in 2015. Of the 87 receivers to play at least 25% of their teams' snaps last year and accrue an average depth of target beyond 10 yards, Baldwin's completion rate of 79% was first overall. Baldwin was also the only wideout to have double-digit touchdowns and average at least 10 yards per target.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin topped the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career and had a whopping 14 touchdowns for Seattle in a breakout year. Although he'll likely fall short of 14 scores in 2016, Baldwin is Seattle's No. 1 wideout in an offense that is likely to rely more on the pass again. Consider him a solid WR2 target in fantasy.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin excelled in slot

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 09:40:18 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin had 1,007 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns out of the slot last year. The only other receiver to hit the 1,000-yard mark and have at least 10 touchdowns from the slot in the last 10 years was Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin had a whopping 1,069 yards and 14 touchdowns last season after having a career high of just five touchdowns previously in 2013. It'll be extremely tough for Baldwin to match those 14 scores in 2016, but as Seattle's No. 1 receiver, he should be a capable WR2 for fantasy owners.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin contract details

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 16:47:08 -0700

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin's four-year extension is worth a total of $46 million, with more than $24 million in guaranteed money, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: As stated before, don't expect Baldwin to find the end zone 14 times again. That being said, he should still be taken in WR2 territory as Seattle's No. 1 wide receiver.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin signs extension

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 16:28:05 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin signed a four-year contract extension through 2020 Tuesday, June 28, according to a source. The deal is worth more than $11 million per year.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin earned this extension after a career year in 2015 in which he scored 14 touchdowns. It would be unwise to expect the same numbers from him this season, but he's still worth a look as a WR2.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin contract being negotiated

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 16:23:24 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin's possible contract extension is being worked on by both sides, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Carroll said the goal is to get him locked up for a long time.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin really came out last season thanks to 14 touchdowns, which were tied for most in the NFL. Don't expect duplication in 2016, but Baldwin is still worth a look as a WR2.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin weighs in on Marshawn Lynch

Mon, 30 May 2016 02:43:12 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin said he is "most certain" that retired RB Marshawn Lynch is done playing football.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin is Lynch's latest former teammate to weigh in on the running back's future. It doesn’t hurt to take a flier on him as your final pick, but there is a good chance he won't play another down.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin talks could open soon

Thu, 19 May 2016 23:46:48 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin is expected to have contract talks begin with the team in the near future.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin set a franchise record with 14 touchdowns last season, which is going to be hard to duplicate. The offense figures to rely heavily on him again with Marshawn Lynch retiring and Thomas Rawls (ankle) and Jimmy Graham (knee) coming off severe injuries. Baldwin figures to be a high-end WR2 in fantasy.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin focused on hands

Mon, 16 May 2016 14:41:05 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin wants to focus on his catch rate for next season, ideally hauling in any catchable target. Baldwin only dropped two passes in 2015 while catching 78 balls, 14 of which were touchdowns.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin was one of the most pleasant surprises in real football and in fantasy football last season, putting up WR1 numbers. The Seahawks aren't expected to pass as much as they did last season, though, so don't anticipate a duplicate season from Baldwin. He's still a solid WR2 option.

Seahawks | Seattle might lock up Doug Baldwin

Fri, 06 May 2016 19:43:08 -0700

The Seattle Seahawks might ink WR Doug Baldwin to a contract extension this offseason in an effort to free up some room under the salary cap.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin posted his first 1,000-yard season in 2015, racking up 78 catches, 1,069 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns with 103 targets while playing all 16 games for the third straight season. He has also started 16 games in each of the past two campaigns. Baldwin has emerged as a decent WR2/3 or flex fantasy option in most seasonal formats.

Seahawks | Seattle still has decent cap space

Thu, 05 May 2016 15:45:25 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin and PK Steven Hauschka could receive contract extensions with an estimated $11 million to $12 million left in salary cap space, according to ESPN's John Clayton.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin and Hauschka are both valuable parts of Seattle's offense and in the fantasy realm. Baldwin, in particular, is coming off a monster coming out season and will enter 2016 as the Seahawks' top receiver. He's solidly in WR2 territory.

Seahawks | No talks with Doug Baldwin yet

Thu, 07 Apr 2016 11:06:33 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin said the team hasn't had discussions with him about a contract extension yet. Baldwin is entering the final year of his contract, and on the heels of a career year, he could fetch a contract worth close to $10 million annually.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin had a huge 78-1,069-14 breakout last season. He'll likely be a high-end WR2 in drafts next season, but he could fall in drafts because it came from years of mediocrity.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin coming off career year

Mon, 01 Feb 2016 11:57:26 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin scored 11 touchdowns in his last six games en route to a 78-catch, 1,069-yard, 14-touchdown season. The 14 touchdowns nearly equaled his touchdown total from the four previous seasons combined.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin benefitted, especially late in the season, from the loss of Marshawn Lynch and Thomas Rawls. The Seahawks had no effective running game and were forced to pass early and often in their games. Last year could turn out to be a career year for Baldwin when all is said and done, so don't anticipate duplicate numbers from him next season.

Sun, 17 Jan 2016 14:50:56 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin caught eight passes for 82 yards in the divisional round playoff game against the Carolina Panthers Sunday, Jan. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin was one of the best fantasy wide receivers over the last few month and caught at least five passes in nine of his last 10 games. He also was tied for league lead during the regular season with 14 touchdowns. Baldwin likely will be selected in one of the earlier rounds of drafts next season and should be a weekly starting option.

Sun, 10 Jan 2016 14:31:32 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin caught five passes for 42 yards and one touchdown during the wild-card playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin has caught 12 touchdowns in his last seven games and will continue to be the No. 1 passing option for the Seahawks. He will be facing a tough Panthers defense next week but could still be a decent option for owners on FantasyScore.

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 19:13:13 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin had his five-game touchdown streak snapped in a 36-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17, finishing with five catches for 46 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin still led the team in targets and yards, and he should continue to be one of the main beneficiaries of Seattle's suddenly potent passing attack. Don't hesitate to roster Baldwin at FantasyScore in the postseason.

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Robinson posted five receptions for 108 yards in the Week 17 game against the Houston Texans. He was targeted nine times. He finished with 14 touchdown receptions, tied with New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall and Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin for the league lead.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson emerged as a must-have fantasy option this season, posting five 100-yard receiving games in his final nine outings. He'll be a Top 15 fantasy option in most formats heading into 2016, if not higher.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin active

Sun, 27 Dec 2015 12:24:27 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hamstring) is officially active for the Week 16 game against the St. Louis Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin ($8,200, 16.4% of cap) has been on fire with 10 touchdowns in his last four games and should continue to be targeted often. The injury does make Baldwin a risky fantasy option, but he should still be considered for starting lineup of most owners.

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as questionable against the St. Louis Rams in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: His return to the practice field bodes well for his chances on playing in Week 16, and if Baldwin ($8,200, 16.4% of cap) takes the field, it is hard to pass on a player that has caught 10 touchdowns in the last four games.

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 05:34:00 -0800

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin ($8,200, 16.4% of cap) might be one to avoid against the St. Louis Rams because of the price tag on FantasyScore and the questions surrounding his health.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin ($8,200, 16.4% of cap) has missed the first two days of practice, so owners should monitor the situation over the next day or two. Baldwin has been on a hot streak and should be a solid starting option if he is active.

Wed, 23 Dec 2015 16:48:45 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (abdomen) and WR Doug Baldwin (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Lynch ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) has been a mainstay in the DNP department over the last few weeks and may not play again this season. Baldwin ($8,200, 16.4%), on the other hand, is somewhat of a concern. He'll need to be monitored as this weekend's game approaches. If he's active, he's a must-start as no wide receiver in football has been hotter than Baldwin lately.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin in rare company

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 17:12:15 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin had four catches for 45 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-13 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 15, joining Jerry Rice as the only receivers to catch 10 touchdowns over four games in the same season.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin productive in slot

Tue, 01 Dec 2015 14:50:48 -0800

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin is the most productive receiver out of the slot position in football this year after catching six passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns in Week 12. Baldwin leads all receivers with 662 yards in the slot, and he has the highest yards-per-catch average (14.71) among players with at least 40% of their snaps in the slot.

Fantasy Tip: With Jimmy Graham (knee) now out for the year, Baldwin ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) becomes Russell Wilson's No. 1 passing target. A matchup with the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13 isn't the best, but expect Baldwin to be a popular value pick in a flex spot because of the volume he should receive.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin hauls in three TDs

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 17:08:36 -0800

He is the first Seahawks receivers with three touchdown receptions in a game since former WR Joey Galloway did it in 1997 against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin showed no ill-effects of the ankle issue which had him listed on the injury report. He has emerged as a solid WR2 or flex FantasyScore option, as he has 19 receptions for 339 yards and four scores over the past three games, posting at least six grabs in each of the outings.

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin hauled in seven receptions for 134 yards and a touchdown in the Week 10 game against the Arizona Cardinals. He was targeted 10 times.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin's previous best this season was 92 yards back in Week 2, and he had been held to 36 or fewer receiving yards in five of the past six games entering play. Despite the big game he is still not a great FantasyScore option until he starts to produce more consistently.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) continues to be one of the more dependable options in the Seattle offense, and he comes with a cut-rate price. If you're going to start a Seattle receiver in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Baldwin is your best bet.

Seahawks | Chris Matthews gaining steam

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 10:11:12 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Chris Matthews is seeing plenty of time with the team's top-end receiver rotation including WRs Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse. Matthews looks to be building off his big performance in the Super Bowl last year. WRs Ricardo Lockette and Tyler Lockett could be fighting for a roster spot. WR Paul Richardson (knee) is on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews has some real nice big-play ability, and he'll certainly enter the season as a deep fantasy wideout sleeper. The fact that the Seahawks run the ball a lot will make it tough for Matthews to be a consistent contributor unless an injury opens up more looks for him.

Seahawks | Tyler Lockett draws praise

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 19:05:17 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett has drawn positive reviews from WR Doug Baldwin, who feels the rookie out of Kansas State is "going to be an impact player for us right off the bat."

Fantasy Tip: Lockett is expected to see plenty of time as a kickoff and punt returner, and his primary position is expected to be in the slot where he will make an impact on offense. He is a nice sleeper as a WR3/4 or flex fantasy option heading into draft day.
