Seahawks | Doug Baldwin set to play

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 18:47:43 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) was a full participant in practice Friday, Sept. 23, and he was not listed on the injury report for Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: With Russell Wilson banged up and the Seahawks struggling on offense to open the year, Baldwin is a WR3 against the 49ers.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin a full go

Thu, 22 Sep 2016 20:56:36 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin has become Seattle's go-to weapon in the passing game, and as long as the reports on his knee remain positive, he should be fine starting option against the 49ers in Week 3.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin expected to play

Wed, 21 Sep 2016 21:39:36 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) is expected to play in the Week 3 game against the San Francisco. Head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday, Sept. 21, that Baldwin is "on track to play." Carroll said Baldwin's injury was a "little knee twist," and tests revealed no significant damage.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin has been a decent low-end WR2 in most fantasy leagues, but due to his health he should be treated as a WR3 in Week 3.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin listed as limited

Wed, 21 Sep 2016 17:41:46 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin is expected to play this week, but owners should monitor the situation during the week. He caught only three passes for 20 yards in the last game but should be more involved in the passing game in Week 3. He should be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in most leagues.

Seahawks | MRI negative for Doug Baldwin

Mon, 19 Sep 2016 14:28:26 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin's (knee) MRI came back negative Monday, Sept. 19, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Seahawks have now survived at least two scares from Week 2 with Tyler Lockett and Baldwin, their two best receivers, avoiding serious injuries. As is the case with anyone who is newly injured, Baldwin's participation in practice this week should be closely monitored. He'll remain in the WR2 conversation this week against the San Francisco 49ers if he is able to go.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin to have MRI

Mon, 19 Sep 2016 05:20:13 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee, back) will have an MRI Monday, Sept. 19, for a knee injury he suffered in Week 2. He also experienced back spasms during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin had a quiet three catches for 20 yards in Week 2 after a big Week 1 performance. He has a good matchup against the San Francisco 49ers next week, but we'll know more about his status after the MRI.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse had most snaps

Mon, 12 Sep 2016 14:39:38 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WRs Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse each played 70 of 82 possible snaps (85 percent) in Week 1. WR Tyler Lockett was in on 62 of the 80 snaps (76 percent).

Fantasy Tip: Kearse appears to be the No. 2 wide receiver behind Baldwin for now. The Seahawks may be using Lockett a little bit less in order to better preserve him for his integral return specialist role. Going forward, Baldwin is a weekly WR2 as long as Russell Wilson is healthy. Kearse is more of a WR4 consideration, while Lockett is in low-end WR3 territory. Lockett is arguably the Seahawks' best playmaking threat and has even more value in leagues that reward return yardage.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin has solid afternoon

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 22:25:23 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin posted nine receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. He was targeted 11 times, including for the game-winning score in the fourth quarter.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin has emerged as a stud fantasy receiver over the past two seasons and normally he should be treated as a legitimate WR2 in most formats. However, he faces a tough matchup in Week 2 at Los Angeles, and Russell Wilson suffered an ankle injury, so treat him more as a WR3 in the upcoming week.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin missed practice

Sat, 06 Aug 2016 07:14:55 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (leg) did not participate in practice Friday, Aug. 5, but was able to do some running and caught passes from quarterbacks. He had his leg stepped on earlier in the week but should return soon.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin probably will return to practice in a day or two and should be fine moving forward. He had an unbelievable stretch of games in 2015 and should be a main part of Seattle's passing game this season. He can be considered a No. 2 wide receiver in most leagues and should be a weekly starting option.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin incredibly effective

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 10:09:54 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin was one of the most effective pass catchers in 2015. Of the 87 receivers to play at least 25% of their teams' snaps last year and accrue an average depth of target beyond 10 yards, Baldwin's completion rate of 79% was first overall. Baldwin was also the only wideout to have double-digit touchdowns and average at least 10 yards per target.

Fantasy Tip: Baldwin topped the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career and had a whopping 14 touchdowns for Seattle in a breakout year. Although he'll likely fall short of 14 scores in 2016, Baldwin is Seattle's No. 1 wideout in an offense that is likely to rely more on the pass again. Consider him a solid WR2 target in fantasy.
