Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez's (knee, elbow) second MRI did not show any problems with his knee. Manager Ned Yost said Perez is also dealing with a hyperextended elbow that will sideline him for seven days.

Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez (knee) sustained a left knee injury while playing for Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic Saturday, March 11, and he needed to be helped off the field into the clubhouse. The injury occurred when Team Italy C Drew Butera collided with Perez at the plate in the ninth inning. An MRI revealed no structural damage, although Perez will miss the remainder of the tournament due to knee inflammation. He will undergo further X-rays Sunday, March 12, according to general manager Dayton Moore.
