Manager Ned Yost said Herrera needed to work on his mechanics and gain confidence in using all of his pitches in a less stressful setting. "He needs to incorporate his secondary pitches - which are both plus pitches, his curveball and his changeup - into his repertoire, adjust his mechanics a little bit," Yost said. "He got to the point by not having confidence in his fastball to where he was trying to overthrow it, so he needs to just smooth his mechanics a little bit and really just go down and have some success." RP Louis Coleman was recalled from Omaha to replace Herrera on the 25-man roster.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera has struggled mightily this season, and he's been hurt by the long ball (eight homers in 20 1/3 innings). Expect Herrera to come back up when the team thinks he's ready. In the meantime, Aaron Crow, Tim Collins and Luke Hochevar could mix and match in eighth-inning setup duties to Greg Holland. None of the trio are worth a handcuff to Holland unless you're in a really deep AL league.
