The Arizona Diamondbacks will start SP Wade Miley on opening day in Australia.

Updating previous reports, Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin (elbow) has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow, and he may need season-ending surgery depending on what Dr. James Andrews finds in a second opinion. SP Wade Miley will now start the team's season opener in Australia against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Fantasy Tip: You should now avoid Corbin like the plague in all drafts. This will now open up a rotation spot for Archie Bradley, Randall Delgado or Josh Collmenter. Bradley clearly has the most upside of the trio if you are speculating with a late-round flier pick.

Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson seems to be growing restless when it comes to SP Wade Miley, and he likely doesn't have much rope left in the starting rotation. Miley could be a candidate to be bumped from the rotation if he continues to struggle.
Fantasy Tip: Now that Tyler Skaggs is in the rotation to replace Brandon McCarthy, there may not be any imminent options to replace Miley, however. Archie Bradley has pitched well in the minors, but he probably isn't ready yet. Daniel Hudson (elbow) is currently rehabbing from Tommy John surgery and won't be rushed.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Wade Miley walked none in 7 2/3 innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday, May 8, after allowing 10 walks in 9 1/3 innings in his previous two starts. "I just quit thinking," Miley said. "That was pretty much it. I just kind of got caught up and was losing it out there trying to do too much and be too perfect."
Fantasy Tip: Kirk Gibson indicated that Miley made an undisclosed mechanical adjustment. That's good news for his fantasy owners after they were alarmed by the high walk totals in his previous starts. Miley can be very effective when he stays in the zone and makes his pitches to induce weak contact.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Wade Miley (arm) will start an exhibition game Saturday, March 30. Manager Kirk Gibson said Tuesday, March 26, that if Miley comes out of that outing healthy, he would start the team's fourth regular season game April 5, against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Fantasy Tip: Miley has limited fantasy appeal in mixed formats, but he is a decent back-end rotation fantasy option in NL-only formats.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Wade Miley (arm), who has pitched only six innings in spring training, may have his first start of the season skipped, because the team won't need a fifth starter until the second week.
Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't affect Miley's limited value in very deep mixed leagues or NL-only formats.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Wade Miley (arm), who was dealing with dead arm, threw two innings in an intrasquad game Monday, March 18, and threw the ball well. "I could tell his arm was quicker," manager Kirk Gibson said. "Just coming out better and he was free and easy. I think it was a good day for him." Miley is on track to make his first start of the year April 3 against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Fantasy Tip: Miley already has a spot in the rotation in his sophomore season. He made significant gains last year, but we need to see more to justify spending and banking on a repeat. He's more of an NL-only commodity at the moment.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Wade Miley (biceps), who is dealing with biceps tightness, should miss only one start, according to manager Kirk Gibson. The team is not overly concerned with Miley.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Ian Kennedy has been announced as the starter for the team's opening day game against the St. Louis Cardinals April 1. He will be followed in the rotation by SPs Trevor Cahill, Wade Miley and Brandon McCarthy.
