Cincinnati Bengals rookie RB Jay Finley, a seventh-round draft choice, was impressive with some nice runs during training camp Sunday, July 31. Head coach Marvin Lewis thought Finley showed "great quickness" and the ability to make defenders miss. Lewis said Finley has shown the ability to separate from linebackers with his speed.

The Cincinnati Bengals added RB Jay Finley out of Baylor in the seventh round of the NFL Draft with the 246th overall pick. Finley's pick is seen as questionable since RB Cedric Benson is an unrestricted free agent, and Finley is not a between the tackles type of runner. Finley's forte is more as a quick-footed perimeter runner with speed. "He has been productive and has the ability to catch and run with the ball," head coach Marvin Lewis said.

Baylor RB Jay Finley measured in with a height of 5-foot-10 7/8, 203 pounds at his Pro Day Thursday, March 3, reports Gil Brandt, of NFL.com. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.37 seconds and the three-cone drill 7.39 seconds. He measured a 39 1/2-inch vertical jump, an 11-foot broad jump and completed 14 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press.
