Detroit Tigers OF J.D. Martinez (elbow) will begin a rehab stint at Class AAA Toledo Tuesday, July 26, where he's serve as the designated hitter. Martinez said he's comfortable throwing from 150 feet and can hit the cutoff man. He said he's more worried about the stress on his elbow from hitting than throwing.

Fantasy Tip: Martinez is expected back in the next couple of weeks, and he could provide a decent power boost the final couple of months. Keep him stashed everywhere.

Fantasy Tip: When healthy Martinez is a stud for fantasy owners, but it remains to be seen how effective he'll be early on in his return. A broken elbow is a serious injury and he might have quite a bit of rust.

Fantasy Tip: Martinez is likely about three weeks away from returning to be a high-end fantasy contributor again. Keep him stashed in all formats and stay tuned for updates as he works his way back to the lineup.

Detroit Tigers OF J.D. Martinez (elbow) took swings off a tee Thursday, July 7. It was the first time he swung a bat since being placed on the disabled list Friday, June 17.

Fantasy Tip: Martinez remains a must-stash outfielder in all fantasy formats and will likely miss another three to four weeks with the elbow injury. In the meantime, Steven Moya owns some upside for deep mixed and AL-only owners and boasts a .554 slugging percentage through 24 games this season.

Updating a previous report, Detroit Tigers OF J.D. Martinez (elbow) will miss four to six weeks with a fractured bone in his right elbow. He will be placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday, June 17, and OF Steven Moya will be recalled from Class AAA Toledo.

Fantasy Tip: Moya is hitting .298 with 13 homers and 38 RBI in 205 at-bats at Toledo and wasn't too shabby in his first callup. Moya should be picked up in most mixed formats because he'll likely see a lot of playing time in a pretty good lineup. Martinez should be stashed everywhere.
