St. Louis Cardinals SP John Gast will make the start against the New York Mets Tuesday, May 14.

St. Louis Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said SP Jake Westbrook (elbow) received a cortisone injection Friday, May 10, and that he shouldn't have to miss more than two starts. "It's really not that big of a deal," Mozeliak said. "It's just something that we didn't want to push it, didn't want it to become a big problem." Westbrook allowed three earned runs and nine hits in 5 1/3 innings in his last outing.
Fantasy Tip: John Gast is a short-term option in NL -only formats. The short left-handed thrower touches the low 90s with his fastball and has a three-pitch repertoire that also features a changeup and curveball. He may be best suited for a role in the bullpen long term, however.
