San Francisco 49ers DE Demarcus Dobbs (calf) left the Week 5 game against the Houston Texans in the fourth quarter due to an undisclosed injury. He entered the game with a calf injury, but it is unclear if he aggravated the injury or suffered a new one.

San Francisco 49ers DL Quinton Dial, the team's fifth-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, is no lock to make the roster out of training camp. The team has DE Cornellius Carradine, DL Glenn Dorsey, DL Ray McDonald and DL Justin Smith as locks to make the roster, and DL Ian Williams looking good for a backup job since the team gave him a $1 million contract extension. That leaves Dial, DL Demarcus Dobbs and DL Will Tukuafu battling for jobs.

Wesley Spencer, agent for San Francisco 49ers DT Demarcus Dobbs (knee), said Dobbs is ahead of schedule in his rehab from a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament and posterior cruciate ligament. Dobbs should be ready for training camp but it is not known exactly when he will be able to return.
