Dolphins | No practice for Jordan Cameron

Tue, 27 Sep 2016 14:51:32 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (concussion) did not practice Tuesday, Sept. 27. Cameron's status is an estimate as the Dolphins did not conduct a practice.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron has already been declared out for Week 4. Dion Sims will take his place as the starter and is worth a look mainly in daily fantasy contests as a cheap investment after catching four passes for 46 yards in Week 3.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron may have concussion

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 10:48:34 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (head) left the team's Week 3 game early and is being evaluated for a concussion. He is considered questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron likely will miss time if he is diagnosed with a concussion, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. Cameron should continue to be a No. 2 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

Sun, 18 Sep 2016 13:46:39 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron caught five passes for 49 yards and one touchdown against the New England Patriots in Week 2.

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron has struggled with drops this preseason, and he dropped two passes in a 17-6 preseason win over the Atlanta Falcons Thursday, Aug. 25. At one point, QB Ryan Tannehill opted not to throw to an open Cameron.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron encouraged to stay

Tue, 16 Aug 2016 19:42:44 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron took a pay cut to stay with the team, partly due to the advice of Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas. The former Denver Broncos tight end told Cameron he would like head coach Adam Gase's system. Cameron said "one of my good friends, Julius Thomas, who played for (Adam Gase), said, 'You've got to play for this guy.' He does a good job of putting (tight ends) in spots to succeed."

Fantasy Tip: Cameron has reportedly been struggling during training camp and the preseason, but there is still plenty of time before the games count for real. He is a nice sleeper candidate heading into the 2016 regular season. He was a Top 5 fantasy option a few years ago in Cleveland, but has struggled since landing in Miami.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron struggling?

Tue, 16 Aug 2016 10:23:15 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron is going through "growing pains" and has a lot on his plate, according to Dolphins head coach Adam Gase.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron had some sleeper intrigue, but struggling with the offense this close to the season isn't what fantasy owners what to hear. He remains a TE2 target but has less shimmer than before.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron excited about new coach

Sat, 04 Jun 2016 05:16:09 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron said he is excited to play for head coach Adam Gase because he has had success with tight ends in the past.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron had a down year in 2015 with 386 yards and three touchdowns but should have a bigger role in the passing game. He could be a solid No. 2 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron to be used smarter

Fri, 22 Apr 2016 14:20:28 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron struggled in 2015 because the previous coaching staff did not use him to his strengths, according to a team official. The official believes things will change under the new coaching staff.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron finished 2015 with 386 yards and three touchdowns but may see a bigger role under head coach Adam Gase. Gase had success with Julius Thomas when they were together in Denver, which should help Cameron. Cameron and Thomas are both downfield threats that have good hands and can catch the ball in traffic. Owners should consider Cameron as a No. 2 tight end at this point, but he has a chance to become a starter.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron takes pay cut

Tue, 08 Mar 2016 07:53:58 -0800

Updating an earlier report, Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron restructured his contract Tuesday, March 8, which reduced his $7.5 million salary in 2016 to $6 million. No extra years were added to his deal.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron struggled with mediocrity last season and is in the TE2 mix in fantasy.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron may rework deal

Sun, 06 Mar 2016 10:27:21 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron has been talking with the team about the possibility of restructuring his contract, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron has a big salary cap figure for 2016, so he would likely will have to change his contract if he wants to stay with the Dolphins. He recorded 386 yards and three touchdowns in 2015 and would not be more than a No. 2 tight end if he stays with the Dolphins.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron still a fit in Miami

Wed, 24 Feb 2016 18:31:13 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron is in the team's plans for 2016, according to new head coach Adam Gase. He is scheduled to cost $9.5 million against the salary cap. "Obviously, the tight end position is something we've made a living on in this offense over the past three years, so both those guys (Cameron and Dion Sims), I really see a great fit as far as what we do," Gase said.

Fantasy Tip: Gase has watched Julius Thomas, Martellus Bennett and even Zach Miller perform well in his offense over the last three seasons. Cameron had only 35 catches in his first season as a Dolphin and Miami can save $7.5 million against the cap by cutting him, so he's not guaranteed a spot. Staying healthy has always been a primary concern for Cameron, who could return to TE1 status under Gase if he remains a Dolphin and can avoid injury in 2016.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron may require pay cut

Thu, 04 Feb 2016 08:12:44 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron may be asked to take a pay cut in 2016. Cameron has a $7.5 million salary with a $9.5 million salary cap hit next season.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron had a down year, but he's capable of rebounding as a low-end TE1 in 2016.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron likely will be cut

Sat, 02 Jan 2016 07:23:39 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron probably will be released this offseason because he is scheduled to make $7.5 million in 2016, but there is a chance the team tries to re-sign him at a lower price.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has been limited to 380 receiving yards and two touchdowns this season and probably will not have a big role in the passing game against the New England Patriots in Week 17. Owners should be able to find better options to use at tight end.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron nearly invisible

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 20:29:42 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron posted just one grab for five yards in the Week 15 game against the San Diego Chargers on his only target of the game.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron has fallen off the fantasy map over the past couple of games, and he never lived up to expectations after signing in Miami during the offseason. He was a Pro Bowler in Cleveland a few years ago, but those days appear to be well in the rear-view mirror after a myriad of injuries appear to have sapped his strength and speed.

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 22:26:33 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron had three receptions for 35 yards in the Week 14 game against the New York Giants. He was targeted four times.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron has been a disappointment for the Dolphins and fantasy owners, failing to re-gain his Pro Bowl form from a few years back. He can mostly be avoided by fantasy owners heading into Week 15 against the San Diego Chargers.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron draws tough matchup

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 21:32:17 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron faces the New York Jets in Week 12, and Cameron finished with two catches for 19 yards on nine targets in a Week 4 meeting with the Jets.

Fantasy Tip: The Jets have allowed just two scores to tight ends all year, so Cameron's ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) disappointing first season in Miami seems likely to continue. You can find a much better option for the price at FantasyScore.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron probable to go

Fri, 13 Nov 2015 11:10:43 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (hamstring) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 13, and is probable for Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) faces a Philadelphia Eagles team that has been strong against opposing TEs the last five weeks. Cameron has struggled of late, and he's not a sound choice on FantasyScore.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron wants more targets

Thu, 12 Nov 2015 15:18:40 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron said he would like to be more involved in the passing game but will not push for a bigger role.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) has not caught more than three passes in a game since Week 1 and has gone six games since he has posted more than 34 yards receiving. Cameron does not appear to be a big threat in the passing game at this time, so owners should pass on him this week.

Dolphins | Two Dolphins pass-catchers limited

Thu, 12 Nov 2015 11:47:43 -0800

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (foot) and TE Jordan Cameron (hamstring) were limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Parker ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) hasn't been on the field enough, and Cameron ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) hasn't been effective enough recently to warrant starts on FantasyScore against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dolphins | Two Dolphins limited Wednesday

Wed, 11 Nov 2015 15:42:28 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (hamstring) and WR DeVante Parker (foot) were limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) and Parker ($2,000, 4.0%) have done very little this year, partly due to injury. Parker shouldn't be started until he receives more playing time and starts producing. Cameron is risky because he's only scored once this year and hasn't eclipsed 60 yards since Week 2.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron will be on the field

Sun, 08 Nov 2015 09:08:08 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (hamstring) is officially active for the Week 9 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) was limited during the last two days of practice this week and could be limited during the game. Cameron has not done a lot over the last five games and may not be the best option for owners to consider for their starting lineups.

Fri, 06 Nov 2015 10:43:29 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (hamstring) was limited Friday, Nov. 6, and is questionable against the Buffalo Bills in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) has been a shaky performer of late and isn't worth the FantasyScore play.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron lands on injury report

Thu, 05 Nov 2015 14:42:13 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 5, after he injured his hamstring this week. Cameron's status for Week 9 against the Buffalo Bills is unknown. TE Dion Sims would step in as the primary tight end if Cameron doesn't play this weekend, and TEs Brandon Williams or Jake Stoneburner would fill in as the second tight end.

Fantasy Tip: It would be a surprise to see Cameron ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) miss the game this weekend, but keep an eye on him in case he becomes questionable. If he does play, he's a midrange tight end option on FantasyScore against the Bills.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron not converting chances

Wed, 04 Nov 2015 07:46:18 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron has caught 50% of throws targeting him this season. Only two other tight ends has been targeted more than 15 times with a lower catch percentage.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) has struggled too mightily to use with confidence on FantasyScore against the Buffalo Bills.

Dolphins | Miami wants more two-TE sets

Thu, 22 Oct 2015 16:21:38 -0700

Miami Dolphins TEs Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims may receive additional playing time moving forward, because interim head coach Dan Campbell would like to use two-tight end sets more often on offense.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) has been more involved in the passing game than Sims ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) this season and would be the more attractive fantasy option if both players see more time. Sims likely will be used more as a blocker and would not be a fantasy option most weeks.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron does very little

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 18:10:00 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (groin) was active in Week 4 against the New York Jets in London, but he managed just two catches for 19 yards.

Fantasy Tip: The Dolphins tried to get Cameron ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) involved, as is evidenced by his nine targets, but the Jets did a good job interrupting the Miami game plan. The Dolphins are off in Week 5, so Cameron has time to rest his injuries.

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 05:11:46 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (groin) is officially active for the Week 4 game against the New York Jets.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) is off to a solid start with 151 yards so far this season and should continue to receive targets. He is facing a tough Jets defense and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (groin) was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Oct. 1.

Dolphins | Don't expect much from Jordan Cameron

Wed, 30 Sep 2015 21:12:04 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron has at least three receptions in each of his first three games heading into Week 4 against the New York Jets in London, but he faces an awfully unfavorable matchup overseas. The Jets have allowed just eight receptions and 95 yards against opposing tight ends in three games this season.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) might still get his catches, but his yardage total will be dismal similar to the 16 yards he posted in Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills. At this price level you can do much better in FantasyScore.

Wed, 30 Sep 2015 16:44:46 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (groin) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) should still be able to play in Week 4 against the New York Jets. He was limited last week as well but still played. He's still waiting for his breakout game of 2015, but the targets have been there for the most part. He's still worth a look on FantasyScore.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron should play in Week 3

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 07:35:23 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (groin) is expected to play in the Week 3 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) has posted some solid numbers through two games and should continue to be part of the passing game. He will be facing a tough matchup in Week 3 and may not be the best option for owners.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron could be limited

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 15:03:45 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron (groin), who is questionable for Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills, could have his workload scaled back this weekend. He has seven catches for 135 yards in the first two weeks. TE Jake Stoneburner could be the backup tight end with TE Dion Sims (concussion) doubtful for the game.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) is in the upper tier of fantasy tight ends, but this weekend could be a different story. The risk of him being limited or not playing altogether is too big of one to take in daily leagues.
