Browns | Jordan Cameron a game-time decision

Fri, 19 Sep 2014 11:35:41 -0700

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) will be a game-time decision in Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens. Head coach Mike Pettine said he was "cautiously optimistic" that Cameron would play Wednesday, Sept. 17, but offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan said Thursday, Sept. 18, that Cameron was "extremely limited" in practice.

Fantasy Tip: You'll have to wait until Sunday morning to see if Cameron is in the starting lineup. His price of $6,900 (13.8% of salary cap) is probably best to be avoided for another week.

Fri, 19 Sep 2014 10:27:26 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 19, and is questionable for Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron's status for Week 3 may not be known until right before kickoff. With a FantasyScore price of $6,900 (13.80% of cap), it may be too risky to use Cameron this week.

Browns | Jordan Cameron practices

Wed, 17 Sep 2014 11:14:48 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Tip: The fact that Cameron is back on the practice field is a good sign for his chances to play in Week 3. His FantasyScore price of $6,900 (13.80% of cap) may be better spent elsewhere, especially with his status being up in the air and the potential for him to be limited.

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron's (shoulder) status for Week 3 is uncertain at this point, according to head coach Mike Pettine. The team will know more about his status Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Browns | Jordan Cameron inactive for Week 2

Sun, 14 Sep 2014 08:38:28 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) is inactive for the Week 2 game Sunday, Sept. 14. TEs Gary Barnidge and Jim Dray are expected to fill in for him.

Fantasy Tip: Barnidge and Dray don't warrant fantasy consideration. This is a blow to Brian Hoyer, who had limited options to throw to with Cameron healthy. Hoyer will cost you $4,500 (9% of your cap) on FantasyScore this week, but he should be avoided except in deep leagues.

Sun, 14 Sep 2014 06:29:36 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) is expected to miss the Week 2 game Sunday, Sept. 14. TEs Gary Barnidge and Jim Dray would fill in for him.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron was a pricey buy at $5,400 (10.8% of your cap) on FantasyScore this week, but you should avoid him altogether. Brian Hoyer's stock would also suffer if Cameron were to miss the game.

Fri, 12 Sep 2014 10:14:29 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 2 game.

Browns | Jordan Cameron a no-go in practice

Thu, 11 Sep 2014 16:42:27 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) missed his second practice of the week Thursday, Sept. 11, and it's looking more likely that he won't suit up in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints. He's dealing with a strained AC joint in his right shoulder after initially injuring it in the preseason. Cameron would be replaced by a tandem of TEs Gary Barnidge and Jim Dray Sunday, Sept. 14, if he can't play.

Fantasy Tip: Don't risk the $5,400 (10.8% of cap) on Cameron in FantasyScore lineups this weekend. Barnidge and Dray can be ignored, too, if Cameron sits out.

Browns | Jordan Cameron to play out rookie contract

Thu, 11 Sep 2014 16:36:26 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron couldn't agree on a new long-term deal before the season started, so he'll now likely play out his rookie deal this year, according to league sources. If Cleveland can't sign him to a long-term deal before free agency, they will likely put the franchise tag on him. The number for tight ends this year is $7,035,000.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron remains a solid tight end to own in year-long leagues, but a shoulder injury has him questionable for Week 2. Stay away in FantasyScore setups.

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) is working out on the side during practice Thursday, Sept. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron's status for Week 2 is uncertain at this point, and owners will need to continue to monitor his practice participation to get a better idea of his availability. Owners should have another tight end ready to start in case Cameron needs an extra week of rest.

Browns | Good news for Jordan Cameron

Wed, 10 Sep 2014 18:37:11 -0700

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) underwent an MRI on his sprained right shoulder and it showed no structural damage. "Yeah, it's all good," Cameron said. "Right now, it's just a day-to-day thing. Just seeing how it feels when I wake up, and we'll go from there." Cameron sprained his AC joint in Week 1, the second time he has done so since Aug. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron is a huge question mark for Week 2 for FantasyScore players, so wait until at least Friday to get a better idea of his status. If he is sidelined, Andrew Hawkins might be a nice mid-level fantasy option with some upside, as someone will have to pick up the slack.

Browns | Jordan Cameron misses practice

Wed, 10 Sep 2014 16:06:59 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Fantasy Tip: There's probably a good chance Cameron doesn't play in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints. Gary Barnidge is next in line at the tight end position, but he can be ignored in all fantasy formats. If Cameron sits, Andrew Hawkins ($4,500 price at FantasyScore) will benefit the most through the air.

Browns | Jordan Cameron undergoes MRI

Wed, 10 Sep 2014 13:06:15 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) underwent an MRI on his injured shoulder, which did not show any structural damage. He has a strained AC joint in his shoulder.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to see if Cameron is able to do anything during practice this week before deciding their lineups. Cameron likely would be a starter in most leagues if he plays, but could be a risky option on FantasyScore at $5,400.

Browns | Jordan Cameron day-to-day

Wed, 10 Sep 2014 09:59:07 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) is considered day-to-day because of his shoulder injury.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron's status for Week 2 is uncertain at this point, so owners will need to see if he is able to do anything during practice this week. Cameron could be considered a risky play because of the injury and the double coverage he probably will face. Owners on FantasyScore could consider spend a little more money on a better tight end option or save a little money at tight end and use it on another position.

Browns | Jordan Cameron's status unknown

Tue, 09 Sep 2014 11:02:11 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) has no injury update on his status for Week 2, according to head coach Mike Pettine.

Fantasy Tip: Until we know what Cameron's status is this week in practice, be prepared to avoid him everywhere at FantasyScore at a price of $5,400 (10.8% of cap). Cleveland's backup tight ends can be ignored if Cameron doesn't suit up.

Browns | Jordan Cameron tried to return

Mon, 08 Sep 2014 06:17:21 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) tried to play through his shoulder injury in Week 1, but the pain forced him to leave after one play in the third quarter.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron's price tag and injury concerns will probably make him an unattractive play in Week 2 against the Saints on FantasyScore.

Browns | Exam Monday for Jordan Cameron

Sun, 07 Sep 2014 14:37:36 -0700

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (shoulder) said Sunday, Sept. 7, that he re-injured the shoulder he sprained during a scrimmage Aug. 2. Cameron isn't sure of the severity of the injury, and he will be re-evaluated Monday, Sept. 8.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players will obviously want to keep a close eye on Cameron's practice status leading up to Week 2. He is not 100 percent, and it might be best to go another way if he is limited or out of practice this week.

Browns | Jordan Cameron to have big role

Wed, 03 Sep 2014 21:36:14 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron will likely take on added importance in the offensive game plan with WR Josh Gordon suspended for the season. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was asked about if Cameron is the top receiving option for Cleveland. "You know, I think they're better equipped to answer that than I am. I know that he is a very good receiving tight end and a very capable one," Tomlin said. "It's their job to talk about his role and how they'll use him."

Fantasy Tip: Cameron might be the best receiving option with Gordon sidelined, but that also could potentially bring more double coverage and fewer targets as the opposition dares Brian Hoyer to use secondary options to beat them. Cameron is Top 10 option in FantasyScore this weekend, but he is a risky play until someone else steps up on the Cleveland offense to draw away defensive attention.

Tue, 26 Aug 2014 22:45:59 -0700

Tue, 26 Aug 2014 18:19:57 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (undisclosed) returned to practice Tuesday, Aug. 28, after being excused from practice the previous day.

Fantasy Tip: Although it remains unclear why Cameron missed Monday's practice, it doesn't appear to be anything that should have fantasy owners concerned. Cameron will be one of the team's top targets in the passing game and the go-to target in the red zone. He is a TE1 in all formats.

Mon, 25 Aug 2014 13:11:30 -0700

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (undisclosed) was excused from practice Monday, Aug. 25, as he is "just dealing with an issue," according to head coach Mike Pettine. Pettine did not say if Cameron's absence was due to the sprained shoulder he suffered earlier this month.

Fantasy Tip: It doesn't sound too serious, but the situation is still worth monitoring. Assuming Cameron is healthy, he could be a top-five tight end this year, though his supporting cast is somewhat lacking.
