Dolphins | Jordan Cameron encouraged to stay

Tue, 16 Aug 2016 19:42:44 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron took a pay cut to stay with the team, partly due to the advice of Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas. The former Denver Broncos tight end told Cameron he would like head coach Adam Gase's system. Cameron said "one of my good friends, Julius Thomas, who played for (Adam Gase), said, 'You've got to play for this guy.' He does a good job of putting (tight ends) in spots to succeed."

Fantasy Tip: Cameron has reportedly been struggling during training camp and the preseason, but there is still plenty of time before the games count for real. He is a nice sleeper candidate heading into the 2016 regular season. He was a Top 5 fantasy option a few years ago in Cleveland, but has struggled since landing in Miami.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron struggling?

Tue, 16 Aug 2016 10:23:15 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron is going through "growing pains" and has a lot on his plate, according to Dolphins head coach Adam Gase.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron had some sleeper intrigue, but struggling with the offense this close to the season isn't what fantasy owners what to hear. He remains a TE2 target but has less shimmer than before.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron excited about new coach

Sat, 04 Jun 2016 05:16:09 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron said he is excited to play for head coach Adam Gase because he has had success with tight ends in the past.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron had a down year in 2015 with 386 yards and three touchdowns but should have a bigger role in the passing game. He could be a solid No. 2 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron to be used smarter

Fri, 22 Apr 2016 14:20:28 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron struggled in 2015 because the previous coaching staff did not use him to his strengths, according to a team official. The official believes things will change under the new coaching staff.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron finished 2015 with 386 yards and three touchdowns but may see a bigger role under head coach Adam Gase. Gase had success with Julius Thomas when they were together in Denver, which should help Cameron. Cameron and Thomas are both downfield threats that have good hands and can catch the ball in traffic. Owners should consider Cameron as a No. 2 tight end at this point, but he has a chance to become a starter.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron may rework deal

Sun, 06 Mar 2016 10:27:21 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron has been talking with the team about the possibility of restructuring his contract, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron has a big salary cap figure for 2016, so he would likely will have to change his contract if he wants to stay with the Dolphins. He recorded 386 yards and three touchdowns in 2015 and would not be more than a No. 2 tight end if he stays with the Dolphins.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron still a fit in Miami

Wed, 24 Feb 2016 18:31:13 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron is in the team's plans for 2016, according to new head coach Adam Gase. He is scheduled to cost $9.5 million against the salary cap. "Obviously, the tight end position is something we've made a living on in this offense over the past three years, so both those guys (Cameron and Dion Sims), I really see a great fit as far as what we do," Gase said.

Fantasy Tip: Gase has watched Julius Thomas, Martellus Bennett and even Zach Miller perform well in his offense over the last three seasons. Cameron had only 35 catches in his first season as a Dolphin and Miami can save $7.5 million against the cap by cutting him, so he's not guaranteed a spot. Staying healthy has always been a primary concern for Cameron, who could return to TE1 status under Gase if he remains a Dolphin and can avoid injury in 2016.

Dolphins | Jordan Cameron likely will be cut

Sat, 02 Jan 2016 07:23:39 -0800

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron probably will be released this offseason because he is scheduled to make $7.5 million in 2016, but there is a chance the team tries to re-sign him at a lower price.

Fantasy Tip: Cameron ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has been limited to 380 receiving yards and two touchdowns this season and probably will not have a big role in the passing game against the New England Patriots in Week 17. Owners should be able to find better options to use at tight end.
