Minnesota Vikings WRs Michael Jenkins, Stephen Burton and Devin Aromashodu were targeted a total of five times in the team's Week 13 loss against the Green Bay Packers. WR Jerome Simpson finished with two catches (seven targets) for 25 yards, and WR Jarius Wright had only one catch for 13 yards. "I don't want to make it sound bad, but never in my life have I been a part of something like this," Wright said. "I don't even know how to say it." TE Kyle Rudolph led the aerial assault with six receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown, and QB Christian Ponder went 12-for-25 (48 percent completion rate) for 119 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Ponder's longest completion went for only 21 yards, and the Vikings' receivers were not able to gain much separation.

"I thought that the ball was coming to me," Burton said. "It didn't, unfortunately, but you don't give up on tipped balls."

Minnesota Vikings WR Stephen Burton was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster when WR Bernard Berrian was let go. It was a bit surprising since Burton looked very raw in training camp. During one practice, he surprised his teammates by batting down a Hail Mary pass like he was a defensive back. "It's funny you bring that play up," head coach Leslie Frazier said. "That's a sore spot with him, so be careful if you bring that up to him. His teammates tease him, and he doesn't like to be teased about that play."

West Texas A&M WR Stephen Burton measured 6-foot-1 3/8, 224 pounds at his Pro Day, reports Gil Brandt, of NFL.com. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds and 4.44 seconds during the workout. He measured a 35-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-4 broad jump and completed 19 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press.
