Browns | WR assignments flexible

Tue, 04 Jun 2013 16:34:09 -0700

The Cleveland Browns won't always have WRs Josh Gordon and Greg Little line up on the outside with Davone Bess in the slot. In early workouts, they've been shifting spots to keep defenses guessing; all have run routes from the inside and outside. Gordon made some of his most dynamic plays last year from the slot. David Nelson (knee) will also be incorporated into this rotation once healthy.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon is an alluring fantasy WR3 in Norv Turner's offense under head coach Rob Chudzinski, but preseason hype will probably make the second-year snare a pricey middle-rounds commodity. He might meet expectations, though, thanks to his deep prowess and Turner's history with big-play wideouts. Little, Bess and Nelson might cap each others' ceiling for production, but they all could serve as solid fantasy depth.

Browns | Vertical offense earning praise

Wed, 29 May 2013 09:35:12 -0700

Cleveland Browns offensive players have raved about their first impression of OC Norv Turner's scheme. "Defenses will be shocked to say the least with how much we're running downfield,"WR Josh Gordon said. WR Greg Little said Turner "calls more post and go routes than I've ever run before."ESPN Stats and Information cites that the Browns threw the ball 10 yards or fewer downfield on 73.3 percent of their 2012 passes, and 20 yards or more on only 9 percent.

QB Brandon Weeden, not the confirmed starter but the presumed leader, is more comfortable out of the shotgun, not the timing-based, three-step-drop setup run by Pat Shurmur last year.

Fantasy Tip: The Air Coryell elements in Turner's vertical-based game give Gordon and Little some fantasy sleeper potential and should sustain Trent Richardson's RB1 stock. It's a stretch to say Weeden, if he gets the gig, will be anything more than a low-end No. 2 fantasy QB, but he could be useful in the right matchup plays for bye weeks. Keep an eye on the development of talented but unpolished TE Jordan Cameron, as well.

Browns | Greg Little standing out in OTAs

Tue, 28 May 2013 16:15:34 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Greg Little has been one of the team's most impressive players during minicamps. The coaching staff is excited about how Little has embraced their new offense and downfield passing attack.

Fantasy Tip: Little has a lot of potential and physical abilities, but his hands have been suspect in his NFL career. He led the Browns with six drops last year. Consider him a worthwhile WR5 in PPR leagues.

Tue, 13 Nov 2012 14:10:52 -0800

Little has vowed to ditch Twitter, and he hasn't tweeted since Sept. 22. He has 13 catches for 132 yards and a touchdown in the last three weeks.
