Bills | Tyrod Taylor to play more

Thu, 18 Aug 2016 21:30:18 -0700

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor will see more action against the New York Giants Saturday, Aug. 20, than he did in the first preseason game, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor should be drafted as a midrange QB2, but he will have the occasional big game. He could be a sneaky DFS starter against the right opponents.

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor will receive a $3.5 million roster bonus Tuesday, Aug. 16, as part of the extension he signed last week. He has a fully guaranteed $2.6 million base salary this season.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor was stellar through the first four weeks last season before tailing off. He's a solid QB2 that can be used as a matchup play or as a bridge for Tom Brady owners.

Bills | Tyrod Taylor contract update

Fri, 12 Aug 2016 16:00:51 -0700

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor is scheduled to make $9.5 million in 2016 then the team will have to decide if they pick up his option next offseason. Taylor would receive $27.5 million in 2017 and his contract extension would start if the team picks up the option.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor will have to play well in 2016 if he wants to remain with the Bills after this season. The Bills are expected to be more of a running team, but Taylor should have the chance to post solid numbers. Owners in most leagues should consider him as a No. 2 quarterback.

Bills | Tyrod Taylor lands big deal

Fri, 12 Aug 2016 10:13:56 -0700

Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor has agreed to terms on six-year, $90 million contract extension. The deal has unspecified team options and could be worth more through incentives.

Fantasy Tip: Yowzers ... we'll have to see how it breaks down, but that's a big deal for little proven production. Taylor remains a modest QB2 buy who has some upside for weekly matchup play.

Bills | Tyrod Taylor nearing long-term deal

Fri, 12 Aug 2016 10:12:18 -0700

Updating an ongoing story, Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor should receive a multi-year deal soon, and sources say it will not be a stop-gap contract. Buffalo appears willing to go as long as six years in duration.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor emerged as a fine fantasy passer a year ago, but he has room to grow before becoming a regular starter for your fake roster.

Bills | Tyrod Taylor progressing in talks

Wed, 10 Aug 2016 11:16:36 -0700

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor is making solid progress in contract extension talks with the Bills, but the two sides still have to work on the back end of the contract. Taylor likely will make $35 million in the first two years if an agreement is reached.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor is coming off a solid season in 2015 and should be able to post similar numbers this season. He probably should be considered a No. 2 quarterbacks in a majority of fantasy leagues.

Bills | Optimism in Tyrod Taylor talks

Mon, 01 Aug 2016 06:03:16 -0700

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor continues to negotiate on a contract extension, and there's plenty of optimism that a deal is struck before the season opens.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor was one of the surprises out of the gates last season before he got nicked up. He completed 74.3% of his passes in the first three games with seven scores and an average of 238 passing yards per game. He didn't throw multiple touchdowns for nearly two months afterwards. That inconsistency keeps him in the QB2 range in fantasy.

Bills | Robert Woods could be replaced

Fri, 29 Jul 2016 18:34:25 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods had just two catches for more than 22 yards last year, and beat writer Jerry Sullivan believes QB Tyrod Taylor's love for the deep ball will lead to Woods being replaced as the No. 2 receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Woods' blocking ability will likely keep him on the field in Buffalo's run-heavy offense, but at best, he is a WR5. Don't be surprised if someone else emerges as the second-best fantasy receiver behind Sammy Watkins, but the depth chart is cloudy.

Bills | Sammy Watkins to stay in stride with QB

Thu, 28 Jul 2016 08:27:13 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins (foot) said he and QB Tyrod Taylor have something planned to make up for the lost time in training camp. "We're not going to go the whole time without doing anything," Watkins said. "We're going to get on the right page and make sure we stay there. It's really good that he's progressing, now I've got to progress with him."

Fantasy Tip: Watkins has had his share of injuries in his first two years, but you can't deny his talent and potential. He's a WR2 in fantasy with the tools for more.

Bills | Tyrod Taylor extension possible

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 23:52:31 -0700

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor could sign a contract extension before the season starts, according to sources. The two sides are talking relatively frequently, but nothing is considered imminent.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor came out of nowhere last season to make a big splash in the first few weeks of the season. He completed 63.7% of his passes for 3,035 yards, 20 touchdowns and only six interceptions. He also rushed for 568 yards and four scores in 14 games. He turns 27 next month and enters a "prove it" season, where he'll be a high-end QB2 in fantasy.
