The Boston Red Sox signed C Te Wara Bishop to an undisclosed contract, The Boston Globe's Peter Abraham reports. Bishop is a 17-year-old softball player from New Zealand. "We have been impressed by his abilities behind the plate, he has excellent hands and a strong throwing arm, and with instruction from our Red Sox coaches, we are confident he can make the appropriate changes from softball to baseball," Red Sox Pacific Rim scout Jon Deeble said.
