However, RBs Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen showed glimpses of brilliance in their rookie seasons last year, and will see the focus of the running game shift to them in 2012.

New England Patriots RB Shane Vereen, who played with Detroit Lions RB Jahvid Best (concussion) at the University of California, is not concerned with Best's health heading into the 2012 season. "I think he's dealing with it pretty fine," Vereen said. "You'll never get one of those answers from Jahvid that, 'Oh, I'm hurt,' or anything like that. He's too tough for all that. How he's really doing? He's the only one that knows that. But I know he's doing well, I know he's going to start training soon and I keep in contact with him pretty regularly."
