Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said he expects to see improved play from LB Justin Houston this season because he will have a full offseason to work with coaches. Crennel said he started seeing improvement last season and believes Houston has the potential to be a very good player.

Kansas City Chiefs LB Justin Houston posted the first three sacks of his career in Week 13 against the Chicago Bears, and he is emerging as a much-needed pass rush threat opposite LB Tamba Hali. Head coach Todd Haley has gradually started using Houston in base defensive sets, then sub-package work before finally taking over as an every-down player in the past few weeks. "He's been doing a great job," LB Derrick Johnson said.

"He had a situation he's acutely aware of, and we are acutely aware of," Pioli said. "We talked with him and numerous people around him. He knows what he's signing up for and we know what we are signing up for."
