Angels | Matt Joyce to DL

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:18:54 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Matt Joyce (concussion) was placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list Tuesday, July 28, and OF Efren Navarro was recalled from Class AAA Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Joyce ($3,000, 6.0% of cap), who is hitting a putrid .178 (43-for-242) on the season, should only be held onto in the deepest of leagues. He's surely going to lose valuable playing time when he's back after the Angels acquired Shane Victorino in a trade yesterday.

Angels | Efren Navarro starting at 1B

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 12:16:53 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Efren Navarro is starting at first base and hitting ninth against New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi Wednesday, July 1. 1B Albert Pujols is serving as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Navarro ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is limited offensively and no home runs and five RBI in 71 at-bats for the Halos this year. Consider him a low-end desperation play as a source of salary cap relief tonight.

Angels | Efren Navarro on the bench

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 15:49:02 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B Efren Navarro is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia Monday, June 29. OF Daniel Robertson is starting in left field and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Navarro ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) struggles against left-handed pitching, which is why he is not playing Monday. Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is hitting .238 in limited playing time this season and is not a great option on FantasyScore.

Angels | Albert Pujols serving as DH

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 11:44:43 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B Albert Pujols will serve as the designated hitter against Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez Sunday, June 28, after starting the last two games at first base. INF Efren Navarro will play first base Sunday and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Pujols ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has been on fire this month, batting .326 with 12 home runs and 24 RBIs. He is 10-for-42 (.238) against Hernandez in his career, with a home run and seven RBIs. Navarro ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitless in nine career at-bats against Hernandez and should be avoided in FantasyScore.

Angels | Efren Navarro leading off vs. M's

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 17:19:02 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Efren Navarro is starting in left field and hitting leadoff against Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker Friday, June 26.

Fantasy Tip: Navarro ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is more intriguing in the leadoff spot tonight, but he's still mainly an afterthought on FantasyScore. Plus, Walker is finally putting it together, having not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last five starts dating back to May 29.

Angels | Albert Pujols will be DH

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 10:54:53 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B Albert Pujols will serve as the designated hitter against Oakland Athletics SP Scott Kazmir Sunday, June 21, and is batting fourth in the lineup. 1B Efren Navarro will start at first base and is batting ninth, while OF Daniel Robertson will start in left field and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Pujols ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) is receiving a day off from the field but is still in the lineup and should be a solid starting option on FantasyScore. Navarro ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is batting .296 with three RBI this month, but owners may be able to find a better option. Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has gone 2-for-7 since joining the team but is not a great option for owners at this point.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Efren Navarro is batting first in the starting lineup against Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray Friday, June 19.

Fantasy Tip: Navarro ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting .350 this month with three RBI. Owners on FantasyScore could consider him as an option for their lineup, but there are probably better options to use.

Angels | Matt Joyce not in lineup

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 12:18:45 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Matt Joyce is not in the starting lineup against the Oakland Athletics Sunday, June 14. OF/1B Efren Navarro is playing left field and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Navarro ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is batting .303 in 33 at-bats this year but he's facing Sonny Gray this afternoon, so he is not a great FantasyScore option.

Angels | Efren Navarro receives start in LF

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 11:36:40 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Efren Navarro is starting in left field and hitting seventh against Tampa Bay Rays SP Alex Colome Thursday, June 11.

Fantasy Tip: Navarro ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) isn't worth your time on FantasyScore tonight, even against Colome. Navarro is hitting only .227 (5-for-22) in limited duty this year.

Angels | C.J. Cron out vs. Houston

Thu, 07 May 2015 14:50:58 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B C.J. Cron is not in the starting lineup Thursday, May 7. OF Efren Navarro is starting in left field and hitting eighth in the batting order against Houston Astros SP Collin McHugh.

Fantasy Tip: Navarro ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is batting .235 (4-for-17) in limited duty off the Angels bench. Avoid him everywhere in daily games.
