Carolina Panthers DT Ron Edwards (elbow) will miss the rest of the season after dislocating his left elbow in Week 12 Monday, Nov. 26. He'll be out a minimum of four to six weeks, and he'll be placed on Injured Reserve. DT Frank Kearse will be promoted from the practice squad. Head coach Ron Rivera said DTs Sione Fua, Andre Neblett or Kearse will start in Week 13.

Carolina Panthers DLs Terrell McClain (knee) and Sione Fua (hamstring) will be placed on the Injured Reserve. McClain sprained his left knee and Fua has a serious right hamstring strain. It is unknown if either will need surgery.

Carolina Panthers DT Sione Fua (hamstring) and DT Terrell McClain (knee) suffered injuries in Week 13. Fua injured his hamstring during the pregame warmups and will be undergoing an MRI. McClain aggravated a medial collateral ligament sprain he originally suffered in Week 12.

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera expressed concerned over the team's defense after the first unit surrendered 269 yards and 24 points in the first half alone Thursday, Aug. 25, versus the Cincinnati Bengals. "I'm very concerned," Rivera said of the defense. "I think the biggest thing is looking at where we are in terms of who's on the field. We are playing some young guys and they need to get some experience very quickly. Our two starting tackles (DL Sione Fua and DL Terrell McClain) are both rookies and at times they played like rookies and at times they played like veterans. They are a little bit away but we're going to live and die with these situations."

Carolina Panthers DL Sione Fua, the team's third-round pick in the NFL Draft, is expected to play nose tackle. However, he can play the three technique if needed. He started 31 games at Stanford, playing 18 at strong-side linebacker and 13 at nose tackle.
