New England Patriots impending free-agent OT Nate Solder said that he wants to continue playing. It remains to be seen, though, if he would take another team-friendly two-year, $20 million contract when he could "conceivably" get $12 million annually on the open market.

Patriots | No franchise tag for Nate Solder

The New England Patriots will not be allowed to place the franchise tag on impending free-agent OT Nate Solder this offseason because it is prohibited as part of his expiring contract. Solder is expected to take some time before deciding on if he wants to play in 2018.

The New England Patriots face the prospect of losing several key free agents. The Patriots have to address key impending free agents in OTs Nate Solder, Cameron Fleming and LaAdrian Waddle, along with RB Rex Burkhead, WR Danny Amendola, CB Malcolm Butler, WR/ST Matthew Slater and RB Dion Lewis. New England is projected to have approximately $17 million in salary cap space. TE Dwayne Allen, TE Martellus Bennett, DT Alan Branch, LB David Harris and RB Mike Gillislee all could be released to create more cap space.

RB Rex Burkhead (ribs), OT Marcus Cannon (ankle), CB Stephon Gilmore (ankle), LB Dont'a Hightower (knee), LB Elandon Roberts (ankle) and WR Matthew Slater (hamstring) were listed as limited participants.
