Schwartz played 11 snaps at right guard in Week 6 after missing all of last year after undergoing hip surgery. Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier stopped short of naming OL Brandon Fusco his starting right guard, but things are looking good since OL Geoffrey Schwartz (hernia) might miss four to 10 weeks after having sports hernia surgery. OL Chris Degeare and C Joe Berger are still in the hunt at the position, and Fusco needs to keep his cool when he is on the field. "I'm going to be a lot smarter player, but stay on the physical side," Fusco said. "I've got to be smarter, or I won't be here for long."

Minnesota Vikings OL Brandon Fusco might get a chance to start at right guard. He was selected as a center in the sixth round in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Slippery Rock. "He's really worked hard," offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said. "In fact, early in the offseason he went to Pennsylvania and worked out with some of his buddies on the Steelers being that he's from Slippery Rock. He came back to engage in our program. We're very excited about his future."
