Bills | Charles Clay to miss Week 13

Sat, 03 Dec 2016 10:49:11 -0800

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) is listed as questionable but will not travel to face the Oakland Raiders in Week 13. Clay has chosen to stay behind to attend the birth of his child.

Fantasy Tip: Clay has battled a lingering knee injury for months, robbing him of upside even when facing good matchups. Gerald Christian has been activated to fill in for Clay, but he has no value in Week 13. Look for more LeSean McCoy in the check-down game; Marquise Goodwin and Sammy Watkins should consume the deep-threat duties.

Sun, 09 Oct 2016 22:49:26 -0700

He has 10 grabs for 120 yards on 12 targets over the past two games. If he continues to see that kind of attention in the passing game he might be worth using as a low-end TE1 in seasonal fantasy formats again. Remember, he is just two weeks removed from going without a catch against the Arizona Cardinals.

Bills | More opportunity ahead for Charles Clay?

Sat, 01 Oct 2016 10:07:57 -0700

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay expect to be more involved four versus the New England Patriots, according to offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn.

Fantasy Tip: The Bills have little choice but to do so now with Sammy Watkins sidelined, but they have failed to follow through on their desire to get Clay the ball a few times already in the short time he has been with the team. The ex-Miami Dolphin has already proven he has 60-catch upside, but Buffalo appears to be dumbfounded in regards to how it will accomplish that. With only 12 targets through three games, Clay should be on waivers in most leagues for now.

The only Bills that should be started if Watkins sits this week are LeSean McCoy and Tyrod Taylor, and maybe Robert Woods as a sleeper.
