Mon, 11 Jan 2016 15:10:26 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) will have a normal offseason despite his thumb injury, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton probably will be on the field when the team starts their offseason workouts in a few months. Dalton had a terrific 2015 season and could be a No. 1 quarterback in some leagues next season.

Bengals | Andy Dalton ready next week?

Sat, 09 Jan 2016 12:21:26 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton is not a guarantee to play next week if the Bengals win. Dalton has not thrown yet, and the Bengals won't know if he'll practice until Tuesday, Jan. 12, or Wednesday, Jan 13.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton's status won't matter if the Bengals can't beat the Pittsburgh Steelers tonight. AJ McCarron ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) will start, but he's not a great starting fantasy quarterback despite his relatively cheap price.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) has been ruled out for the wild-card game Saturday, Jan. 9.

Bengals | Andy Dalton not at practice

Thu, 07 Jan 2016 14:46:22 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) missed practice for the second straight day Thursday, Jan. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) is a long shot to play in the wild-card tilt against the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday. AJ McCarron ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) is in line for his fourth start and has a decent matchup against one of the weakest secondaries in the postseason. Consider McCarron as a sleeper play if you want to save some money at QB.

Bengals | Andy Dalton not practicing

Wed, 06 Jan 2016 10:51:47 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) is not taking part in practice Wednesday, Jan. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) had the cast removed from his thumb Monday, but he's still unlikely to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers on wild-card weekend. AJ McCarron ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) almost threw for 300 yards in a relief effort of Dalton last time against Pittsburgh, and he's a sleeper candidate against one of the weaker secondaries in the postseason.

Bengals | Andy Dalton makes brief appearance

Tue, 05 Jan 2016 20:50:35 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) was able to throw two passes in practice Tuesday, Jan. 5, but head coach Marvin Lewis said QB A.J. McCarron remains the team's starting quarterback heading into the AFC Wild-Card Game Saturday, Jan. 9, against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) would be a risky FantasyScore play if he was able to return given his poor playoff performances in the fast, rust factor after a long layoff and a difficult opponent which knows him well. McCarron ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has never started a playoff game, and he isn't a recommended option, either.

Bengals | Cincy planning to use AJ McCarron

Tue, 05 Jan 2016 09:09:57 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said Monday, Jan. 4, that the Bengals would prepare during the week as if QB AJ McCarron would start the wild card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday, Jan. 9, with QB Andy Dalton's (thumb) status up in the air. McCarron said he'll be more confident this weekend if he's forced to face the Steelers for the second time.

Fantasy Tip: McCarron has looked pretty good while replacing Dalton for three full games, and he's yet to throw an interception. The Steelers can be beat through the air, so if McCarron makes another start this weekend, he is a deep sleeper QB worth considering on FantasyScore.

Tue, 05 Jan 2016 07:37:20 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) had the cast removed from his right thumb, but his status for the wild card game Saturday, Jan. 9, is unknown.

Fantasy Tip: AJ McCarron ($5,800, 10.8% of cap) is expected to start against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he's a meager FantasyScore option.

Mon, 04 Jan 2016 14:26:10 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (finger) is not expected to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

Fantasy Tip: AJ McCarron will start in the Wild Card round of the playoffs for the Bengals. He has held his own in recent weeks, but he's not a top starting choice for those participating in fantasy playoff leagues.

Fri, 01 Jan 2016 21:21:45 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) will see a hand specialist Monday, Jan. 4, and he is hoping to have the cast around his right thumb removed.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton won't play in the season finale against the Baltimore Ravens, but there is still a chance he could return for the playoffs. Monday's appointment will likely go a long way to deciding his timetable for a return.

Bengals | Andy Dalton does some drills

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 12:30:22 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) went through some conditioning drills on the side during practice Wednesday, Dec. 30, for the first time since his injury. He is still using a black cast around his right hand.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) is unlikely to play until the divisional round of the playoffs if the Bengals advance that far. He won't be a very attractive FantasyScore pick by then, either, since he's missed the last several weeks.

Bengals | Andy Dalton to shed cast soon

Tue, 29 Dec 2015 09:42:47 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) could have his cast removed as early as Tuesday, Dec. 29. However, his bone isn't fully healed yet.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) is unlikely to play this weekend and might not be ready until the divisional round of the playoffs. Until then, AJ McCarron should remain as the starter, but he's a shaky fantasy commodity with not much experience under his belt.

Bengals | Andy Dalton a few weeks away

Mon, 28 Dec 2015 17:11:08 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) is still a few weeks away from returning and likely would not be available if the team plays in a Wild Card playoff game. QB AJ McCarron will continue to be the starting quarterback until Dalton is able to play again.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor Dalton's situation over the next few weeks to see if Dalton will be able to play in the playoffs. McCarron ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) posted decent numbers in his first start last week and has three touchdowns and two interceptions in his last two games. He will be facing a tough Denver Broncos defense in Week 16 and is not a great fantasy option.

Bengals | Andy Dalton ruled out

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 13:17:09 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) has been ruled out for Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't be a big surprise as Dalton continues to recover from a fractured throwing thumb. AJ McCarron ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) will receive another start in his place, but he's not worth starting this week against the Denver Broncos.

Bengals | Andy Dalton week-to-week

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 11:42:05 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) says he's still "week-to-week" and will visit with doctors every week to see what they think about his thumb.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) has already been ruled out this weekend and is unlikely to play in Week 16. That means you can dump him in traditional leagues. AJ McCarron ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) wasn't terrible in relief of Dalton last week and has a fine matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Consider McCarron for a sleeper pick if you want to save money at QB in daily games this week.

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 06:51:05 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) is unlikely to play in Week 16, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

Fantasy Tip: It's unlikely Dalton returns the rest of the regular season, and he can be dropped in traditional leagues. AJ McCarron ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) has a midrange matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, but he's not much of a streamer option on FantasyScore in his first career start.

Bengals | Andy Dalton week-to-week

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 13:06:13 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) is considered week-to-week and will wear a cast on his fractured throwing thumb, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton's return all depends on how quickly he can heal. He will need to be monitored in the coming weeks, but if he doesn't return for the regular season it's possible he could return for the postseason. In the meantime, A.J. McCarron is a below average starting fantasy quarterback in Dalton's place.

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 12:07:00 -0800

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) believes a return in Week 17 is possible despite a fractured throwing thumb.

Fantasy Tip: As was previously stated, Dalton's return all depends on how quickly he can heal. He will need to be monitored in the coming weeks, but if he doesn't return for the regular season it's possible he could return for the postseason. In the meantime, A.J. McCarron is a below average starting fantasy quarterback in Dalton's place.

Bengals | No surgery for Andy Dalton

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 11:58:36 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) will not need surgery on his fractured thumb, according to a source. A possible return depends on how quickly Dalton's thumb heals.

Fantasy Tip: The Bengals obviously want a healthy Dalton for the playoffs. He may not be able to heal in time, but there is still that possibility. Undergoing surgery would probably eliminate his availability for the postseason. As for the regular season, A.J. McCarron is a risky play, but he has a decent matchup against the San Francisco 49ers next week. Only start McCarron if you want to spend more for studs at other positions.

Bengals | Andy Dalton's season likely over

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 05:19:28 -0800

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) is likely lost for the rest of the season with a fractured right thumb. The best-case scenario is he returns for the playoffs, according to multiple team sources.

Fantasy Tip: A.J. McCarron will face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15, and he could be a one-week streamer option.

Bengals | A.J. McCarron hit and miss in relief

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 16:15:53 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB A.J. McCarron replaced QB Andy Dalton (thumb) in a 33-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14, throwing for 280 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Fantasy Tip: McCarron put up decent numbers after taking over, but he also threw to costly interceptions. Dalton will at least miss the Week 15 game against San Francisco, so McCarron will have a decent matchup if you are looking for a low-priced flier at FantasyScore.

Bengals | Andy Dalton has fractured hand

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 13:41:42 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (hand) said he has a fracture in his hand and is scheduled to meet with a hand specialist Monday, Dec. 14. Head coach Marvin Lewis said Dalton will not be able to play in Week 15 but would not say he will miss more time.

Fantasy Tip: A.J. McCarron will be the starting quarterback next week against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15. He has a bit of an inconsistent outing in relief in Week 14 with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Owners could consider him as a starting option, but they should have better options available.

Bengals | Andy Dalton will not return

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 10:36:54 -0800

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) will not return to the team's Week 14 game because of a thumb injury.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to wait until after the game to determine the severity of Dalton's injury. A.J. McCarron will take over the starting job while Dalton sidelined but is not a good fantasy option. The values of A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert likely will see a dip if Dalton misses significant time.

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 10:28:56 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) suffered a thumb injury during the team's Week 14 game and is considered questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: A.J. McCarron will fill in if Dalton has to miss extended time, so owners will need to keep an eye out on an update on Dalton's injury. McCarron will have some weapons to work with but is not a strong fantasy option.

Bengals | Andy Dalton playing well at home

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 18:09:38 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton faces the Pittsburgh Steelers at home in Week 14, and Dalton has scored at least three touchdowns in four of his six home games this season.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) has been one of the more consistent quarterback options at FantasyScore this season, and many of his best games have come at home. Another big performance could be on tap against a Pittsburgh defense allowing the fourth-most passing yards per game.

Bengals | Andy Dalton scores three TDs

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 14:47:16 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton passed for two touchdowns and ran for a third on Sunday, Dec. 6, in a 37-3 win over the Cleveland Browns. He passed for 220 yards and only had five incompletions among 19 passes.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) did this against Cleveland, so at first glance this doesn't look too impressive. Still, Dalton continues to have a marvelous 2015 campaign and ranks high with FantasyScore players.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton tossed three touchdown passes and was 20 of 27 for 233 yards Sunday, Nov. 29, in a 31-7 win over the St. Louis Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) had his first three-touchdown game since Nov. 5, but more important there was a victory attached to this game. The Bengals broke a two-game losing streak and Dalton remained on track for a spectacular season. Dalton remains a solid FantasyScore pickup.

Bengals | Three Bengals probable for Week 12

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 11:41:36 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (groin), TE Tyler Eifert (knee) and WR Marvin Jones (hamstring) are listed as probable for Week 12 against the St. Louis Rams.

Fantasy Tip: The Bengals have been one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL this season, but the Rams are a very tough test. They have a top-tier defense against the pass and the run, so lower your expectations for the Bengals' offense as a whole.

Bengals | Andy Dalton takes part in practice

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 12:52:36 -0800

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) is on track to play against the St. Louis Rams in Week 12 and will look continue his solid playing time. Dalton will have a tough matchup this week but should still be decent starting option for fantasy owners.

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 15:14:51 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (groin) and WR Marvin Jones (hamstring) were limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately for Dalton ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) and Jones ($3,400, 6.8%), the St. Louis Rams have been stellar against the pass this year, boasting the second-best fantasy defense against quarterbacks behind the Denver Broncos. Dalton has been solid all year, but there are better options at quarterback and wide receiver this week.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 22 of his 39 pass attempts for 315 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 11 game against the Arizona Cardinals. He also ran eight times for 34 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton rebounded nicely from his worst game of the season, posting his fourth 300-yard game of the season and his seventh multi-TD game in 10 starts. He remains a strong FantasyScore option regardless of the competition.

Bengals | Andy Dalton progressing in areas

Thu, 05 Nov 2015 10:10:10 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has improved from 31% to 52% completion rate this season on balls thrown more than 20 yards downfield. He has also thrown seven touchdowns and no interceptions when working the middle of the field after throwing six scores and 12 interceptions on such throws last year. Dalton's completion percentage to WR A.J. Green has also improved from 60% to 71% this season.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) has a poor history against the Cleveland Browns, but he has really come of age this season. He's a midrange QB1 option on FantasyScore.

Bengals | Andy Dalton hasn't played well vs. Browns

Tue, 03 Nov 2015 16:13:12 -0800

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has six touchdowns and 10 interceptions in the last five meetings against the Cleveland Browns, who the Bengals face in Week 8 Thursday, Nov. 5. The Bengals have lost three of their last five outings against Cleveland.

Fantasy Tip: The Browns have one of the worst rush defenses in the league, so expect the Bengals to try and exploit this early and often. It could be a lopsided affair, especially with Cleveland expected to use their backup, Johnny Manziel. Dalton ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) should be a pretty safe daily pick with Joe Haden and Donte Whitner both expected to sit out with concussions.

Tue, 20 Oct 2015 14:11:58 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has 14 touchdowns and just two interceptions so far in 2015 after throwing six touchdowns and three interceptions at this point last year.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) has clearly taken it to the next level this year, and he has enough weapons in the passing and running game to be a QB1 week in and week out. He's on bye this week, but he'll continue to be popular on FantasyScore when he returns in Week 8.

Bengals | Andy Dalton effective in win

Sun, 18 Oct 2015 13:43:32 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton threw 22 of 33 for 243 yards and passed for three touchdowns as the Bengals knocked off the Buffalo Bills 34-21 on Sunday, Oct. 18.

Fantasy Tip: What was big for Dalton ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) was how he threw the touchdowns. With WR A.J. Green under heavy coverage, Dalton completed TD passes to WR Marvin Jones, TE Tyler Eifert and WR Jeremy Hill. Dalton looks like he has found his niche for the time being, so definitely start him.

Bengals | Andy Dalton has matured

Mon, 12 Oct 2015 09:51:48 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton led an impressive comeback effort in a win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5, and offensive coordinator Hue Jackson said he has meshed well with the quarterback. "When we were down, he didn't blink. Last year, in a situation like that, he might've gone the other way. Sometimes, he did. This year, he has a different look in his eye. He demonstrates that killer instinct, and it took a lot of growth, leadership and hard work to get himself to that point." Dalton has 11 touchdowns and two interceptions, a 67.5 completion percentage and a 303.6 yards-per-game average through five games.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton's comeback effort against one of the better defenses in the league is extremely impressive and shows that he is certainly in the midst of a breakout season. Dalton has plenty of weapons in the aerial game and in the backfield and shouldn't slow down for his fantasy owners. He remains a strong daily play in Week 6 against Buffalo's shaky secondary.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 30 of 43 passes for 331 yards with two touchdowns and an interception and had 18 rushing yards and a touchdown in a 27-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: The Bengals trailed 24-7, but Dalton ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) completed 13 of 15 passes in the fourth quarter and overtime to lead the comeback. His fast start seems legit, and he deserves weekly consideration at FantasyScore.

Bengals | Cincy producing big plays

Fri, 09 Oct 2015 15:49:57 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has produced an NFL-high 20 passing plays of 20-plus yards this year. They face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5. Seattle allowed 11 big passing completions in the first two games but have given up just three since SS Kam Chancellor returned from his holdout.

Fantasy Tip: Big plays will likely be hard to come by for both sides in this matchup in Week 5. Make sure to downgrade Dalton ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) and all of the Bengals offensive weapons a bit this weekend.

Fantasy Tip: After the quarter point of the season it looks like Dalton ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) is in the midst of a breakout year. But not so fast, the Seattle Seahawks come to town in Week 5, and Dalton probably is nothing more than a contrarian play on FantasyScore at his price.

Fantasy Tip: Dalton ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) has been one of the best quarterback s in the league thus far, and his hot start should continue this weekend. He deserves heavy consideration at FantasyScore.
