Green said he has built a good chemistry with Dalton over the last several seasons.

Mon, 30 Jun 2014 13:44:48 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton and WR A.J. Green are the best quarterback-receiver duo in the league, according to offensive coordinator Hue Jackson. "I think both of these guys are in the prime of their careers," Jackson said. "I wouldn't change the two guys I have for anybody at this point because these guys know how to do it together."
Fantasy Tip: Green is one of the best receivers in the game and is a no-doubt WR1. However, until Dalton shakes off his consistency issues, he remains nothing more than a midrange backup QB.
Thu, 26 Jun 2014 05:38:15 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton will sign an extension before the start of the season, in the belief of Bengals beat writer Geoff Hobson.
Thu, 26 Jun 2014 05:32:43 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals beat writer Geoff Hobson believes Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson wants to have a more ball-possession offense that runs it more but sets up more explosive passes efficiently. That would mean fewer pass plays, but more potential big plays off of play-action.
Fantasy Tip: Giovani Bernard is going to have to prove that he can run the ball effectively 15-20 times in order for the play-action to work. Jeremy Hill will also be a factor in third-and-short situations that could free up A.J. Green and Marvin Jones downfield. Andy Dalton looks to be in optimal fantasy position this year in his contract year as a low-range QB1.
Thu, 12 Jun 2014 20:30:50 -0700
The Cincinnati Bengals have made some progress in contract extension talks with QB Andy Dalton but nothing is imminent at this point.
Wed, 11 Jun 2014 09:36:24 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson said he has seen improvement from QB Andy Dalton during offseason workouts and believes Dalton has taken control of the offense. "I see a very confident player who goes in and calls the play and makes decisions, who redirected things and gets us in the right place," Jackson said. "There's not a lot of negative football plays. That's what you want. He's taken charge and control."
Fantasy Tip: Dalton has a lot of weapons to work with in the passing game, but owners should consider him a No. 2 quarterback in most leagues this upcoming season. He has the chance to be a mid to low No. 1 quarterback depending on the matchup.
Mon, 09 Jun 2014 16:14:58 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson, quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese and wide receivers coach James Urban have stressed route precision from QB Andy Dalton in organized team activities so that he can make quicker reads and get the ball out faster. Fri, 23 May 2014 11:43:37 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson said the team needs more from the entire offense, including QB Andy Dalton and WR A.J. Green in 2014. "They've been good, now it's time to be great," Jackson said.
Fantasy Tip: Green is already one of the top wide receivers in football. If he can take it to another level, it would only help both his fantasy value and the value of Dalton. Still, it is reasonable to think there will be some growing pains as the team learns a new offense.
Thu, 22 May 2014 14:38:38 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson wants to implement an up-tempo offense and intends to be heavily committed to the running game to set up the pass. Bengals OT Andrew Whitworth said the team is planning to get as many snaps in as they can.
Fantasy Tip: A more conservative offensive approach will improve the value of Cincy's running backs, with Giovani Bernard standing to have the best fantasy season. BenJarvus Green-Ellis shouldn't be written off just yet, since rookie Jeremy Hill having a fantasy-worthy role isn't a lock. Andy Dalton should become more efficient, but that isn't necessarily a good thing for fantasy value. Ultimately, WR A.J. Green remains the only weapon with consistent appeal.
Sun, 11 May 2014 10:07:58 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton will remain the starter, despite a fifth-round selection of Alabama QB A.J. McCarron, according to Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson. "This pick is not about Andy Dalton," Jackson noted.

Mon, 21 Apr 2014 09:39:36 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton is expecting the team to approach him with a long-term contract extension before his rookie deal expires next March. Dalton is scheduled to make roughly $1.7 million this year as he finishes up his four-year, $5.2 million deal. "It's a quarterback-driven league, so quarterbacks get rewarded a lot of money," Dalton said. "For a lot of these quarterbacks, if you're the quarterback of the team, you're the face of the franchise. So these teams obviously believe in their guy and they're going to pay him that way."
Wed, 09 Apr 2014 08:59:05 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson thinks QB Andy Dalton is close to becoming a great quarterback in the NFL. "The guy has the makeup to do it. What I've got to do is just continue to push, prod, pull, motivate, support him and the rest of this offensive unit, and then we've got to pick up the pieces everywhere else to give him a chance to do his job. If we do that, this young man will be right where he needs to be," Jackson said. Jackson has already vowed to focus more on a running attack to take some of the pressure off Dalton's arm.

"I'll play anywhere, but the chance to get to play with A.J. (Green) again would be incredible," Murray said,. "He's an unbelievable receiver and one of the best in the NFL. We had a good relationship and chemistry in college, so it would be nice to hook up with him again." Cincinnati is expected to attend Murray's pro day April 16.

Fri, 10 Jan 2014 15:36:55 -0800
Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson said he has confidence in QB Andy Dalton but indicated he will need to push Dalton to improve. "He's won a lot of games. You go look at some of the guys who are considered some of the best, they didn't win as many games in a three-year period. Some of them didn't even see the playoffs. This young man has it. What we have to do is make sure that we're helping him to get it done at the level that we all want."
Mon, 06 Jan 2014 14:55:45 -0800
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis is standing by QB Andy Dalton after he turned the ball over three times in the team's Wild Card loss to the San Diego Chargers Sunday, Jan. 5. Dalton is 0-3 with six interceptions and one touchdown in his playoff career, good for a QBR of 17.9. "I believe in his abilities, I believe in his makeup, I believe in his maturity. And I believe in his ability to let the last play go and move on to the next play. That's probably one of his best attributes of all," Lewis said.
Mon, 06 Jan 2014 02:26:07 -0800
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton's postseason struggles continued with one touchdown and three interceptions Sunday, Jan. 5, against the San Diego Chargers. That dropped his record in playoffs to 0-3 with one touchdown and five interceptions. Head coach Marvin Lewis, still looking for that first postseason win himself with an 0-5 record, backed Dalton in the tough moments after his toughest loss in 11 seasons when the inevitable question about the future of the quarterback was broached. "I don't have any questions about Andy's role in this thing. We just have to keep working it," Lewis said. "We've got to make sure we're doing everything to help Andy all the time. He's going to be very disappointed in himself today, obviously. He is the football team, and I'm sure he's very disappointed."

Tue, 19 Nov 2013 12:18:44 -0800
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton is confident in the midst of a rough three-game stretch. "I'm confident as ever," Dalton said. "You have to have confidence. For us, as a team, we feel like we're in control of everything and that's where we want to be at this point." He had three touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns in Week 11 but compiled just 93 yards passing for a 48.1 percent completion rating, a 62.7 passer rating and a career-low 3.7 QBR rating. Dalton has tossed at least one interception in his last four games, including eight in his last three.
Fantasy Tip: Dalton has shown signs of taking the next step this year, only to take two steps back. With the right matchup, he's a midrange QB1, but he's better left as a capable backup in your fantasy leagues.
Sun, 10 Nov 2013 14:22:05 -0800
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green finished the Week 10 game against the Baltimore Ravens with eight receptions for 151 yards and a touchdown. With no time remaining in regulation, Bengals QB Andy Dalton heaved up a desperation prayer that was answered by Green. Ravens SS James Ihedigbo inexplicably batted the ball up into the air and right to Green, who was standing alone in the back of the end zone for the 51-yard touchdown. It marked Green's fifth consecutive 100-yard game, a franchise record.
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners everywhere need to send a thank you note to Ihedigbo, as if he did not touch the ball or simply bats it down, the game ends and fantasy owners get far fewer points.
Sun, 27 Oct 2013 17:55:03 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton threw a career-high five touchdown passes in Week 8 against the New York Jets. He completed 19 of his 30 passes for 325 yards, and four of his TD passes went to WR Marvin Jones. Thu, 01 Aug 2013 16:55:53 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton had a great rhythm in the first two days of training camp but forced throws into coverage over the next few practices. "The way he's commanded the offense, he knows it's his team now," WR A.J. Green said.
Fantasy Tip: Dalton is looking to make strides in his third season in the league, and he has plenty of offensive weapons around him to take the next leap forward, including perhaps the most gifted receiver in the league in Green. He won't be an elite QB1 by any means, but most weeks he should approach low-end No. 1 stats.
Wed, 31 Jul 2013 08:43:14 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has thrown for 47 touchdown passes in 32 career games, with only Hall of Famer QB Dan Marino (68) and Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (52) throwing for more in their first two NFL seasons. Still, he is 0-2 in the playoffs, and there are doubts whether Dalton can take the team to the next level.
Fantasy Tip: Dalton was impressive for fantasy owners last season, posting seven games with two or more touchdown strikes in the first 11 regular season games. He did tail off a bit down the stretch, disappointing in the fantasy playoffs. Still, he has proven to be a situational fantasy QB1. However, in four games against the division rival Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, for example, he disappeared, totaling two touchdowns with four interceptions. Have depth at the position for when the schedule turns difficult.
Thu, 18 Jul 2013 09:22:39 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green praised QB Andy Dalton, and said that 2013 is not a make-or-break year for him. "I don't feel like it's a make-or-break year for him," Green said. "He's still the quarterback of the future because he has every intangible to be a great one. He works hard, he has great leadership. I think he'll be fine."
"You look at Tom Brady and all the best quarterbacks in the league, it takes four or five years for them to really get in a groove," Green said. "Aaron Rodgers sat behind (Brett) Favre for years. (The criticism) comes with the territory."
Fantasy Tip: While it may not be a make-or-break year for Dalton, there are high expectations for the Bengals, and that offense as a whole. A strong year from Dalton will go a long way in solidifying him as a top fantasy quarterback.
Thu, 06 Jun 2013 10:13:49 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden thinks the offense is due to make big improvements in the right direction this year after the team drafted TE Tyler Eifert and RB Giovani Bernard. Gruden has been pleased with the way the players have adjusted and adapted to his installation of a new offense during organized team activities. He's also happy with increased repetitions for QB Andy Dalton and the improvements of the skill players. "The thing about our offense is they came back and are willing to work hard, they are all unselfish and have a great understanding of what it is going to take for us to get to the next level," Gruden said. The offense has run some no-huddle plays this week and Dalton likes the look it gives the team.
Fantasy Tip: We have high hopes, as do most people, for the Bengals offense this season in Dalton's third year. A.J. Green has plenty of help in the receiving game, and the running game has some nice depth. Dalton could be a very capable fantasy backup QB with the potential to perform as a No. 1 many weeks.
Wed, 22 May 2013 09:47:06 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has, during organized team activities, been focusing on improving the trajectory and accuracy of his throws while working with quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese. Dalton also is practicing a quicker dropback in the pocket. The club is hoping first-round TE Tyler Eifert will help stretch the offense so defensive attention doesn't squarely target WR A.J. Green.
Fantasy Tip: Along with rookie RB Giovani Bernard, Dalton has been awarded some underrated offensive depth that could raise his already solid ceiling as a high-end fantasy QB2. Getting more yardage out of his attempts would produce a breakthrough campaign, and your competitors may not notice or care leading up to draft day.
Mon, 08 Apr 2013 13:02:24 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton said he knows that he needs to be more accurate with his deep passes and expects to show improvement in that area. "I think there are times where I didn't get those throws. That's one thing people have said about me since I was coming out of college. I'm going to get better. I know I need to get better. I'm going to make the improvement. I expect myself to make throws like that. I have to hit more throws down field. I also have to get better in other areas," Dalton said.
Mon, 08 Apr 2013 12:46:01 -0700
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton said he wants to be more of a leader on and off the field next season. "The biggest thing I can do is take more control. Whether it be on the practice field or during a game, whatever it is, I need to step up and really show my leadership. That will be big. The more you play, especially being a quarterback, the more you're going to become a leader on the team," Dalton said.
Tue, 05 Mar 2013 18:48:13 -0800
Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden said Tuesday, March 5, in a radio interview that QB Andy Dalton needs to improve in every phase, specifically his deep accuracy and touch. "He's got a long way to go," Gruden said. "He's done some great things for a second-year quarterback, won a lot of games and thrown some good touchdown passes, but we feel like he has not come close to his potential. That's our job to get it out of him."
Mon, 21 Jan 2013 16:01:13 -0800
The Cincinnati Bengals appear to be searching for a backup quarterback to QB Andy Dalton with QB Bruce Gradkowski headed for free agency this offseason. However, they don't want to push Dalton out of the starting role, so they are unlikely to use early draft picks on a QB. Bengals quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese will take a look at North Carolina State QB Mike Glennon, Florida State QB EJ Manuel, Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson, Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib and University of Miami QB Zac Dysert this week. Glennon has been receiving the most praise from evaluators, and they believe he might be in the best position to succeed immediately in the NFL.
Tue, 08 Jan 2013 21:01:40 -0800
Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton was sacked 46 times this season, the most sacks of a Bengals QB since QBs Akili Smith and Scott Mitchell were dropped 52 times in 2000. However, offensive coordinator Jay Gruden feels the offensive line improved as the season went on. "This is going to sound asinine, probably, but I think from a protection standpoint, as far as protection and blitzes, we're as good as anybody," Gruden said. "A lot of the sacks were Andy stepping up and there were sometimes the pocket seemed collapsed. We need to work on that."
Tue, 08 Jan 2013 21:01:16 -0800
Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden plans to work with QB Andy Dalton to get him more consistent from start to finish. "It's easy to look at the negatives. You can see his start and then he kind of went down here at the end of the year," Gruden said Tuesday, Jan. 8. "It's our job to get him better and to focus on the positives and we can work on the things he needs to work on in the offseason." The team plans to work more on the deep ball with Dalton, and the need for him to make more plays out of the pocket.
