Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton is confident in the midst of a rough three-game stretch. "I'm confident as ever," Dalton said. "You have to have confidence. For us, as a team, we feel like we're in control of everything and that's where we want to be at this point." He had three touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns in Week 11 but compiled just 93 yards passing for a 48.1 percent completion rating, a 62.7 passer rating and a career-low 3.7 QBR rating. Dalton has tossed at least one interception in his last four games, including eight in his last three.
Fantasy Tip: Dalton has shown signs of taking the next step this year, only to take two steps back. With the right matchup, he's a midrange QB1, but he's better left as a capable backup in your fantasy leagues.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green finished the Week 10 game against the Baltimore Ravens with eight receptions for 151 yards and a touchdown. With no time remaining in regulation, Bengals QB Andy Dalton heaved up a desperation prayer that was answered by Green. Ravens SS James Ihedigbo inexplicably batted the ball up into the air and right to Green, who was standing alone in the back of the end zone for the 51-yard touchdown. It marked Green's fifth consecutive 100-yard game, a franchise record.
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners everywhere need to send a thank you note to Ihedigbo, as if he did not touch the ball or simply bats it down, the game ends and fantasy owners get far fewer points.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton threw a career-high five touchdown passes in Week 8 against the New York Jets. He completed 19 of his 30 passes for 325 yards, and four of his TD passes went to WR Marvin Jones. Dalton now has three straight 300-yard passing games with at least three TD passes for the first time in his career.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton was given the day off by head coach Marvin Lewis Monday, Aug. 19.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton had a great rhythm in the first two days of training camp but forced throws into coverage over the next few practices. "The way he's commanded the offense, he knows it's his team now," WR A.J. Green said.
Fantasy Tip: Dalton is looking to make strides in his third season in the league, and he has plenty of offensive weapons around him to take the next leap forward, including perhaps the most gifted receiver in the league in Green. He won't be an elite QB1 by any means, but most weeks he should approach low-end No. 1 stats.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has thrown for 47 touchdown passes in 32 career games, with only Hall of Famer QB Dan Marino (68) and Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (52) throwing for more in their first two NFL seasons. Still, he is 0-2 in the playoffs, and there are doubts whether Dalton can take the team to the next level.
Fantasy Tip: Dalton was impressive for fantasy owners last season, posting seven games with two or more touchdown strikes in the first 11 regular season games. He did tail off a bit down the stretch, disappointing in the fantasy playoffs. Still, he has proven to be a situational fantasy QB1. However, in four games against the division rival Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, for example, he disappeared, totaling two touchdowns with four interceptions. Have depth at the position for when the schedule turns difficult.

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green praised QB Andy Dalton, and said that 2013 is not a make-or-break year for him. "I don't feel like it's a make-or-break year for him," Green said. "He's still the quarterback of the future because he has every intangible to be a great one. He works hard, he has great leadership. I think he'll be fine."
"You look at Tom Brady and all the best quarterbacks in the league, it takes four or five years for them to really get in a groove," Green said. "Aaron Rodgers sat behind (Brett) Favre for years. (The criticism) comes with the territory."
Fantasy Tip: While it may not be a make-or-break year for Dalton, there are high expectations for the Bengals, and that offense as a whole. A strong year from Dalton will go a long way in solidifying him as a top fantasy quarterback.

Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden thinks the offense is due to make big improvements in the right direction this year after the team drafted TE Tyler Eifert and RB Giovani Bernard. Gruden has been pleased with the way the players have adjusted and adapted to his installation of a new offense during organized team activities. He's also happy with increased repetitions for QB Andy Dalton and the improvements of the skill players. "The thing about our offense is they came back and are willing to work hard, they are all unselfish and have a great understanding of what it is going to take for us to get to the next level," Gruden said. The offense has run some no-huddle plays this week and Dalton likes the look it gives the team.
Fantasy Tip: We have high hopes, as do most people, for the Bengals offense this season in Dalton's third year. A.J. Green has plenty of help in the receiving game, and the running game has some nice depth. Dalton could be a very capable fantasy backup QB with the potential to perform as a No. 1 many weeks.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has, during organized team activities, been focusing on improving the trajectory and accuracy of his throws while working with quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese. Dalton also is practicing a quicker dropback in the pocket. The club is hoping first-round TE Tyler Eifert will help stretch the offense so defensive attention doesn't squarely target WR A.J. Green.
Fantasy Tip: Along with rookie RB Giovani Bernard, Dalton has been awarded some underrated offensive depth that could raise his already solid ceiling as a high-end fantasy QB2. Getting more yardage out of his attempts would produce a breakthrough campaign, and your competitors may not notice or care leading up to draft day.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton said he knows that he needs to be more accurate with his deep passes and expects to show improvement in that area. "I think there are times where I didn't get those throws. That's one thing people have said about me since I was coming out of college. I'm going to get better. I know I need to get better. I'm going to make the improvement. I expect myself to make throws like that. I have to hit more throws down field. I also have to get better in other areas," Dalton said.
