Titans | DeMarco Murray totals 47 yards

Sun, 10 Dec 2017 20:14:04 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray ran 11 times for 34 yards in Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals while adding two receptions for 13 yards on three targets.

Fantasy Tip: Murray didn't do much for the second consecutive game, but no one else accomplished much on offense either. He had 13 total touches to eight for Derrick Henry and remains the fantasy back who will have more touches in Tennessee, although he has been more of a RB3 or flex fantasy play lately.

Titans | DeMarco Murray runs for 66 yards

Sun, 03 Dec 2017 18:19:02 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed 11 times for 66 yards in the Week 13 game against the Houston Texans and he added two grabs for 13 yards on his two targets.

Fantasy Tip: Murray averaged a respectable 6.0 yards per game, and while he was outgained by Derrick Henry, it really was just one big 75-yard scoring run late in the fourth quarter to tip the scales in Henry's favor. Murray was far more consistent and remains a decent low-end RB2 or flex fantasy option in most formats.

Titans | DeMarco Murray on target for Sunday

Fri, 01 Dec 2017 14:05:26 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (illness) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 1, and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 13 against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was a bit under the weather, but still able to participate. If he is limited in any way on Sunday it would be the benefit of his RB committee partner Derrick Henry and his fantasy owners.

Titans | Friday's injury report for Tennessee

Fri, 01 Dec 2017 14:02:32 -0800

Tennessee Titans WR Rishard Matthews (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Friday, Dec. 1, and he is listed as questionable for Week 13 against the Houston Texans. RB DeMarco Murray (illness), LB Brian Orakpo (shoulder), OL Brian Schwenke (illness) and S Da'Norris Searcy (ankle) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.

Titans | Tennessee to keep RB committee

Thu, 30 Nov 2017 18:24:43 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry will continue to split carries as they have all season, head coach Mike Mularkey said Thursday, Nov. 30. "I think the way it has worked out, it has worked just fine," Mularkey said. "I think we have two starters."

Fantasy Tip: If Mularkey holds true to his word, Murray will continue to be a low-end RB2 against the Houston Texans in Week 13, and Henry will be a risky flex play.

Titans | DeMarco Murray misses practice

Thu, 30 Nov 2017 12:11:05 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (illness) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 30, because of an illness.

Fantasy Tip: Murray likely will be able to play in Week 13 if he can recover from the illness over the next few days. He has been limited to 19 rushing yards over the last two games but does have four total touchdowns in the last three games. He still has value because of his role in the passing game and can be a No. 2 running back or a flex option for owners.

Titans | DeMarco Murray bottled up in win

Sun, 26 Nov 2017 15:17:45 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed 12 times for nine yards and a touchdown in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts while adding three catches for 33 yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: That's two awful performances in a row, as he has 20 carries for just 19 rushing yards across the past two games. The touchdown was nice, but he has devolved into a low-end RB2 or flex fantasy play heading into Week 13 against the Texans. Derrick Henry performed well and could eat into his role.

Titans | DeMarco Murray likely to remain starter

Sat, 25 Nov 2017 08:32:06 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray is expected to remain the starter over Derrick Henry for the remainder of the season, although offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie admitted there is "a bit of a hot hand approach with the backs" and "not a specific play count for each."

Fantasy Tip: The Titans' offense as a whole has been a disappointment, the offensive line hasn't been nearly as good as it was last year and Murray has been slowed by injuries, but the 29-year-old has seemingly fallen off precipitously from what was a banner year in 2016. Tennessee reportedly values Murray's pass blocking and catching enough to keep things the way they currently are. Murray is a volume-based, low-end RB2 at best most weeks, while Henry is a high-upside, low-floor flex.

Titans | DeMarco Murray shut down by Steel Curtain

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 22:22:05 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray gained 10 yards on eight carries (1.3 YPC) in Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Murray added 37 yards in the passing game on five receptions.

Fantasy Tip: It was another night to forget for Murray in a season that has become increasingly full of them. After leading the AFC in rushing last year, Murray has topped 60 rushing yards in game just once in 2017, and that was all the way back in Week 3. He's done a little more work as a receiver recently -- and is coming off a three-touchdown game -- but his status as a No. 2 fantasy back should be viewed as tenuous.

Titans | DeMarco Murray has rough matchup

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 08:28:08 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray will face the best defense against the running back position in fantasy over the last five weeks in the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Outside of last week's three touchdowns, Murray has struggled. He's averaging just 3.01 yards per carry over the last four games. During that stretch, the Steelers are yielding 9.8 fantasy points per game to running backs - as a whole. Murray is still an RB2 in fantasy, but if you're loaded at the position, it's not out of the question to consider someone else.

Titans | DeMarco Murray accounts for three TDs

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 14:43:29 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10. He also caught four passes for 30 yards and one touchdown during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Murray has been fairly quiet over the last several weeks but doubled his rushing touchdowns in Week 10. He will continue to be a big part of the passing game and can be a No. 2 running back against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Titans | DeMarco Murray to be limited

Mon, 06 Nov 2017 17:51:32 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) will be limited during practice this week, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: Murray probably will be able to play this week against Cincinnati Bengals, but owners should monitor the situation during the week. He struggled in Week 9 but can still be a No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues.

Titans | DeMarco Murray nursing knee injury

Mon, 06 Nov 2017 11:26:09 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) appears to be passed his shoulder and hamstring issues, but head coach Mike Mularkey told reporters the veteran running back is now dealing with a knee injury.

Fantasy Tip: It's been a season to forget health-wise for Murray, who never healed fully from a preseason hamstring issue and has been injuring body parts ever since. Mularkey also said if Murray if "effective, we'll allow him to continue to play." The fact of the matter is he hasn't been effective for most of the season and especially lately, averaging 3.3 yards per carry or less in three straight games. It appears the Titans have no plans to change anything, making Murray a low-end flex option in most leagues.

Titans | DeMarco Murray bottled up

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 19:20:15 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray ran nine times for 19 yards and caught two passes for 22 yards in a 23-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Murray exited with a knee injury but later returned, and he ended up logging one more carry than Derrick Henry. Big games and big plays have eluded Murray this year, but he usually receives enough touches to be used as a low-end RB2.

Titans | DeMarco Murray suffers minor injury

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 11:14:45 -0800

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) suffered a knee injury in Week 9 but was able to return after missing a few plays.

Fantasy Tip: Murray may be limited during the rest of the game depending on his knee but probably will not miss much time. He should be considered a low-end No. 2 running back most weeks.

Titans | DeMarco Murray also has a bruise

Mon, 23 Oct 2017 12:23:24 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (shoulder) is dealing with a bruised shoulder, according to head coach Mike Mularkey. A timetable for his return was not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: The severity of the injury was not pinpointed, but Murray is no stranger to bumps and bruises. His practice status will need to be monitored closer than usual this week, but Murray and Derrick Henry will keep sharing carries either way. That is, as long as Murray is healthy enough to play.

Titans | DeMarco Murray leads way in Week 7

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 13:56:03 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed 18 times for 59 yards in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns and he added three catches for 17 yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was a bit of a question mark coming in with a hamstring issue, but he powered through with Derrick Henry struggling with 1.0 yards per carry in this game. Murray will have two weeks to rest his bumps and bruises with a bye in Week 8.

Titans | DeMarco Murray active for Week 7

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 09:31:39 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is active for Week 7's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Tip: Murray has a very favorable matchup this afternoon versus the Browns. He will continue to split time in the backfield with RB Derrick Henry and should be viewed as a low-end RB1 or high-end RB2, with added value in PPR formats.

Titans | TEN optimistic about DeMarco Murray

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 06:53:12 -0700

The Tennessee Titans are hopeful that RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) can play in Week 7's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was listed as questionable on the injury report and was a limited practice participant Friday, Oct. 20, after missing the two earlier sessions during the week. Assuming he is active, he should be viewed as a low-end RB1 or high-end RB2 due to the favorable matchup.

TE Delanie Walker (calf) did not practice and is listed as questionable. LB Derrick Morgan (abdomen) and RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) were limited during practice and are listed as questionable. Titans | DeMarco Murray limited Friday

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 14:41:51 -0700

Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 20, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Murray may be a game-time decision this week, so owners will need to check the inactive list for his status. He will be a risky option because of the injury and could see a drop in his touches if he plays. Owners can consider him a No. 2 running back of a flex option if he is active.

Titans | DeMarco Murray, Delanie Walker questionable

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 10:20:42 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) and TE Delanie Walker (calf) are listed as questionable on the Week 7 injury report. Both players could be game-time decisions against the Cleveland Browns, according to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe.

Fantasy Tip: The Titans would be wise to use this opportunity to take advantage of a game they should win this week and the team's Week 8 bye by resting both players. Murray practiced in a limited fashion on Friday, while Walker missed Friday's session after being limited Thursday. Derrick Henry would be on the RB1/RB2 borderline if Murray misses the game, while Jonnu Smith could enter the TE1 conversation against a defense that hasn't defended the position well all year if Walker is ruled out.

Titans | Coach worried about DeMarco Murray?

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 18:08:14 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Khalfani Muhammad will likely be signed from the practice squad if RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is unable to play against the Cleveland Browns in Week 7, head coach Mike Mularkey said Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: The fact Mularkey has a backup plan in place is an indication that there is at least a chance Murray could miss the Week 7 contest. If he sits, Derrick Henry would become a solid RB2 option.

Titans | DeMarco Murray still not practicing

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 11:44:45 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Don't read too much into Murray's absences yet. If he practices tomorrow then he's likely to play this weekend. Murray will continue to split time with Derrick Henry but remains a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 candidate with more value in PPR leagues.

Titans | Tennessee pleased with Week 6 backfield split

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 19:21:36 -0700

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Mularkey told reporters he liked the distribution of work in the backfield during the team's Week 6 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Derrick Henry rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, while Murray gained 40 yards on 12 carries. Mularkey also said Henry is beginning to establish himself as a big key in the fourth quarter of games. "That's probably been the case of late, when we go into a four-minute. Henry's probably a little fresher from not taking a lot of snaps. … But I really like how it has played out with percentages and how these guys (get along). I mean, the first guy down to congratulate (Derrick) on his (72-yard) touchdown was DeMarco Murray," Mularkey said.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the disparity in Week 6, Murray is still the lead back in this offense. It's also worth noting Henry was having a mediocre day (59 yards on his first 18 carries) before his dash to the end zone. With that said, Murray refuses to take a game or two off to let his hamstring heal, so Henry may continue to see more work moving forward until that changes. Murray is a back-end RB2 at best at this point, while Henry is a high-upside flex option.

Titans | DeMarco Murray has tight hamstring

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 14:47:50 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is dealing with hamstring tightness, but head coach Mike Mularkey believes Murray should be fine for Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Murray seems to be ceding more carries to backfield mate Derrick Henry which has naturally caused his production to teeter off some. He has maintained a decent role in the passing game, however, and continues to be a quality RB2 in all formats.

Titans | DeMarco Murray has solid MNF outing

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 21:01:18 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray churned out 40 yards on 12 carries and had a rushing touchdown in the team's Week 6 game Monday, Oct. 16, against the Indianapolis Colts. He also hauled in four receptions for 47 yards.

Fantasy Tip: It was a nice showing from Murray for his owners, but his usage is still a concern, as teammate Derrick Henry actually had seven more carries and more than triple the rushing yards as well. However, the former rushing champion is just too talented to keep on the bench, and he still generally gets enough work to warrant being started regularly in just about all leagues.

Titans | DeMarco Murray runs for 58 yards

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 18:20:38 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray finished with 14 carries for 58 yards and four catches for 11 yards in a 16-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Murray has now been held below 60 rushing yards in four of the five games this season, and he has scored just once. The good news is that he still saw a majority of the carries, and he should be in the RB2 conversation against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6.

Titans | DeMarco Murray held in check in Week 4

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 14:28:57 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray ran seven times for 31 yards Sunday, Oct. 1, in a 57-14 loss to the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: Two things stand out here. First, it's never good when you have less rushing yards than your quarterback. Second, with QB Marcus Mariota hampered by a hamstring injury, he may need to miss time. If that's the case Murray could be bottled up.

Titans | Hamstring holds up for DeMarco Murray

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 19:03:54 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray finished with 14 carries for 115 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown run, in a 33-27 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was questionable coming into the game with a hamstring injury, but he ended up having his best performance of the year. Derrick Henry also saw 13 carries, but if Murray doesn't have any setbacks this week, the carries could swing more in his favor moving forward. Consider him a RB2 against the Houston Texans in Week 4.

Titans | DeMarco Murray to play

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 11:46:05 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is officially active for the team's Week 3 game.

Fantasy Tip: Murray probably will share snaps with Derrick Henry during the game and could see limited carries because of the injuries. Murray will be a risky option for owners because of the injury and the matchup.

Titans | DeMarco Murray should suit up

Sat, 23 Sep 2017 22:14:47 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is "more than likely" to play against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3, a source said Saturday, Sept. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Even if Murray suits up, there is a good chance he will see limited snaps, and the matchup with Seattle is far from ideal. If you have to start one of Tennessee's backs, Derrick Henry is the better play.

Titans | DeMarco Murray listed as questionable

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 14:47:14 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Friday, Sept. 22, and he is listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was facing a tough matchup if he were at 100 percent, but it's especially difficult if he is a little banged up. Look for Derrick Henry to shoulder some of the lost against the Seahawks, and perhaps start if Murray is out or limited. The fantasy back of choice in Nashville this weekend appears to be Henry.

Titans | Derrick Henry to be busy Week 3

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 12:38:44 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry is expected to get a "significant workload" in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks, regardless of whether DeMarco Murray plays or not, according to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe. Murray returned to practice as a limited participant Friday, Sept. 22, running routes and catching passes during individual drills. While Murray showed some instances of acceleration as a runner and receiver during the practice, it was far from what he would be expected to do in game action, according to Wolfe.

Fantasy Tip: The Titans are handling this situation correctly, as there is no reason to push Murray through a hamstring injury, although having a talent like Henry on the roster makes it an easier decision. Henry is quite the luxury to fall back on when the reigning AFC rushing champion is not 100 percent and should be plugged into lineups as a RB2 despite the tough matchup.

Titans | DeMarco Murray practices Friday

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 10:05:37 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) was able to practice Friday, Sept. 22, after not participating the previous two days. He will be listed as questionable on the Week 3 injury report, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: For the most part, Murray has not looked himself this season after leading the AFC in rushing last year. Owners who have some depth at running back should consider sitting Murray until he is able to produce something of note. That is unlikely to come this week against the Seattle Seahawks. At least for this week, Derrick Henry figures to lead the backfield in touches and figures to be the superior player.

Titans | DeMarco Murray remains sidelined

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 15:15:55 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: The Titans may consider keeping Murray out for at least one game so he can rest his injured hamstring, so owners should look for an update later in the week. Derrick Henry would receive a majority of the carries if Murray is ruled out and could be a starter for fantasy owners even though he will be facing a solid Seattle Seahawks defense.

Titans | DeMarco Murray sits out

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 16:18:11 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Murray's status for Week 3 is uncertain at this point and could sit out since hamstring injuries can linger. Owners should know more about the situation later in the week. Murray could be limited if he does play this week and may not be the best option for owners. Derrick Henry would receive a majority of the work if Murray sits out and would be a decent No. 2 running back or flex option.

Titans | DeMarco Murray day-to-day

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 16:36:54 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is considered day-to-day because of his hamstring injury, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Fantasy Tip: Murray probably will be limited at practice for most of the week, so owners will need to check on his status later in the week. He is a solid fantasy option when he is healthy, but owners may want to consider other starting options in case Murray is ruled out for Week 3.

Titans | DeMarco Murray still bothered by hamstring

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 06:22:39 -0700

Updating previous reports, Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) sat out of the second half in Week 2 due to tightness in his hamstring. It's the same injury that bothered him in the preseason.

Fantasy Tip: Derrick Henry has been pushing Murray all along, and it may be time for Murray to sit and heal. If Murray sits, Henry will be an RB2 option against the Seattle Seahawks. If Murray goes, he's demoted to the flex area due to the injury risk, and Henry would be an RB3 as well.

Titans | DeMarco Murray held out late in win

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 17:30:58 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray ran nine times for just 25 yards in Week 2 on the road against the Jaguars and he added one catch for three yards on two targets.

Fantasy Tip: Murray spent most of the second half on the sidelines, apparently uninjured, serving as a spectator in the lopsided victory. Fantasy owners will be happy that Murray was uninjured, but it's unnerving seeing Derrick Henry running up and down the field with Murray looking on. We'll get a better idea of the tailback distribution in Week 3 against the Seahawks.

Titans | DeMarco Murray to see more carries?

Sat, 16 Sep 2017 18:26:29 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray's 12 carries in Week 1 were tied for his second fewest since joining the Titans, and head coach Mike Mularkey said he would have liked to see more runs. "I think we need to run it more if we can," Mularkey said.

Fantasy Tip: Tennessee wants to be a run-first offense, but Murray will have his work cut out for him against a solid Jacksonville defense in Week 2. He should still be in your starting lineup, but consider him a RB2 this week.

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 14:37:02 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed for 44 yards on 12 carries against the Oakland Raiders in Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Murray only received 12 carries during the game but should see more touches in the upcoming weeks. He will be facing a solid Jacksonville Jaguars defense in Week 2 but could still be a No. 2 fantasy back.

Titans | DeMarco Murray uncertain for Sunday

Fri, 25 Aug 2017 10:35:52 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) has been practicing with the team since Aug. 14, but his status for the team's third preseason game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Aug. 27, is up in the air as head coach Mike Mularkey has yet to commit to playing him, according to ESPN.com's Cameron Wolfe.

Fantasy Tip: The Tennessean reported Thursday that Murray may get limited snaps, but the 29-year-old told the paper then "if the game was today, I'd be playing." Thus, owners can probably assume he'll be ready for a full workload in Week 1 versus the Oakland Raiders. Mularkey has stated multiple times this offseason Murray will remain his workhorse, so he is safe to draft as a RB1 at the end of the first round or the beginning of the second in the majority of fantasy leagues.
