The Dallas Cowboys are open to bringing back unrestricted free agent RB Felix Jones to back up RB DeMarco Murray, according to owner/general manager Jerry Jones. "We've got to look at the backup backfield," Jerry Jones said. "You can't dismiss Felix. I don't want to dismiss him from our thinking."

Dallas Cowboys running backs coach Gary Brown said he believes RB DeMarco Murray can become an elite running back if he works on a few things. "We all know that the injury bug has bit him a little bit. We have to keep him healthy, and he and I will work together to just refine some of his things and get him better. Obviously he is a good, talented runner. We just want to shine up some of his things and get him to be an elite runner," Brown said.

Dallas Cowboys impending free agent RB Felix Jones could return to Dallas on a one-year contract, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com. Watkins points out that it is unlikely Jones will get a big contract in free agency, and that Jones could be a dependable backup to DeMarco Murray.

Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray said he is not concerned with his recent fumbling issues heading into Week 17. Murray has fumbled twice in the last two weeks. "It doesn't bother me at all," Murray said. "Last week was last week, two weeks ago was two weeks ago. I don't worry about mistakes. I don't worry about good plays or if a bad plays happens, it's erased, once a great play happens, it's erased. I have a short term memory, good, bad, negative (and) positive. I just move on and try to make a play the next time."
