San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said Thursday, Feb. 23, that QBs Colin Kaepernick and Scott Tolzien each made positive progress in their rookie seasons. "Both of those youngsters did as good a job or better than I've ever seen young quarterbacks approach the game," Harbaugh said. "Both of them just sponges in terms of picking up as much as they possibly can. That first of all was the most impressive thing. I also liked the way they competed in practice, before practice, after practice."

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick saw more reps with the first-team offense this week than last, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh. Kaepernick was seeing more time with QB Alex Smith (concussion) returning from a concussion. "He (Kaepernick) is doing a good job," Harbaugh said. "I've said it many times. Like a lot of our guys, not where we want to be, yet. But we're working to get there. He's working on a lot of the finer points of the game, and he's doing a very good job of it."

Rookie QB Colin Kaepernick wasn't much better, misfiring on 10 of his 16 pass attempts for just 52 yards, no TDs and one INT.
