Jets | No update on Bilal Powell

Mon, 05 Oct 2015 12:47:32 -0700

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell's (groin) status for the Week 6 game against Washington Redskins will not be updated until after the team's Week 5 bye, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

Fantasy Tip: Powell has posted decent numbers in his limited playing time and will receive an extra week to prepare for the next game. Powell probably should not be a starting option at this point but could be a handcuff to Chris Ivory.

Jets | Bilal Powell injures groin in win

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 18:13:22 -0700

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell (groin) left the Week 4 game against the Miami Dolphins in London due to a groin injury.

Fantasy Tip: Before Powell ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) left he had one reception for 12 yards. He'll have two weeks to get well as the team is off in Week 5. If Powell is forced to miss time then Zac Stacy ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) could see more run.

Jets | Bilal Powell leaves early

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 08:20:05 -0700

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell (groin) left the Week 4 game early because of a groin injury and is considered questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see if Powell ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) will miss significant time or if it is a minor injury. Powell likely will continue to be a backup running back and has limited fantasy value.

Jets | Bilal Powell quiet in start

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 18:15:19 -0700

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell had 10 carries for 31 yards and seven catches for 44 yards in a 24-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Powell ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) saw some extra action with Chris Ivory ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) sitting out, but he didn't do much with his touches. Even with the 15 or so touches he has been routinely seeing with Ivory in the lineup, Powell doesn't offer much upside at FantasyScore.

Jets | Bilal Powell gets 16 touches

Mon, 21 Sep 2015 21:46:45 -0700

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell ran 12 times for 38 yards in the Week 2 game against the Indianapolis Colts Monday, Sept. 21. He also managed four receptions for 16 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Powell ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is seeing plenty of touches, but he isn't doing a ton with the chances. Still, he is a decent low-end RB2 or flex FantasyScore option if you want to save salary to load up at all of your other positions.

Jets | Bilal Powell totals 14 touches

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 19:23:46 -0700

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell carried 12 times for 62 yards in the Week 1 win against the Cleveland Browns while adding a pair of receptions for 16 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Powell ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) was a solid bargain for FantasyScore players since he had a decent amount of yards and 14 total touches. If you need a salary saver heading into Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts, Powell is worth consideration.

Jets | NY's running back depth is solid

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 16:54:03 -0700

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory is the team's starting running back, but the Jets' running back depth behind him with RBs Stevan Ridley, Zac Stacy and Bilal Powell is impressive and will give QB Geno Smith a lot of help out of the backfield.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory should see most of the touches in this crowded backfield, and you should consider him an ideal RB3 in fantasy leagues. The Jets are unlikely to keep four running backs on roster, so Stacy and Powell might be fighting to stay on the final roster.

Jets | Zac Stacy on outside looking in?

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 19:31:43 -0700

New York Jets RB Zac Stacy is competing with RBs Chris Ivory, Stevan Ridley (knee) and Bilal Powell for one of the running back spots on the 53-man roster in training camp and the preseason. According to beat writer Darryl Slater, Stacy is not projected to make the cut, although it could depend on the health of Ridley.

Fantasy Tip: Stacy went from fantasy starter to an afterthought in an awful hurry. If he can't crack the Jets, he could find work elsewhere. However, it appears his days as a serious fantasy option are already behind him.

Jets | Chris Ivory leads backfield

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 07:35:43 -0700

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory is listed as the starting running back entering training camp, according to beat writer Rich Cimini's unofficial depth chart. RB Bilal Powell is the primary backup, and RB Zac Stacy is listed as the third running back. RB Stevan Ridley (knee) could figure in eventually, but he's expected to be limited at the start of camp.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory established himself in a muddy backfield that was expected to be led by Chris Johnson last year. Ivory has competition again this year, but he's a solid RB2 and takes a hit in PPR formats. Powell is a decent RB4 in PPR formats. It's hard to draft Stacy right now unless Powell and Ridley slip up.

Jets | Running back situation up in the air

Thu, 21 May 2015 11:51:04 -0700

New York Jets coach Todd Bowles said his team's running back situation may take until the preseason to sort out. RBs Chris Ivory, Bilal Powell, Zac Stacy, Stevan Ridley and Daryl Richardson all have experience at the position, but no one has broken out yet.

Fantasy Tip: Bowles said the team could keep as many as four backs, but it begs the question of which one to start. For now, this situation is too volatile, but be prepared to move one up your draft board if someone looks explosive in preseason games.
