Diamondbacks | Rubby De La Rosa pitches well Monday

Mon, 18 May 2015 20:18:37 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa allowed two runs on six hits in a career-high nine innings against the Miami Marlins Monday, May 18. He struck five batters during the game and did not walk a batter.

Fantasy Tip: De La Rosa ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has been a bit inconsistent this season but pitched very well against Miami. He has pitched at least six innings in six of his eight starts this season and has struck out 47 batters in 53 innings. De La Rosa is scheduled to face the Chicago Cubs in his next start, which makes him a risky option on FantasyScore.

Diamondbacks | Rubby De La Rosa goes 7 strong

Sun, 26 Apr 2015 05:09:07 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa turned in a dominant seven-inning performance Saturday, April 25, in a loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. De La Rosa allowed just four hits and zero walks, while striking out eight Pirates batters. It was the first time De La Rosa pitched at least seven innings without allowing a single walk since May 31, 2015.

Fantasy Tip: De La Rosa ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is striking out 9.00 batters per nine innings pitched through four starts this season, en route to a 2-1 record. With a career 7.45 K/9, De La Rosa has a fair amount of upside in daily contests. De La Rosa is next schedule to pitch May 1, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It will be a tough follow-up start for De La Rosa, but he's becoming someone to keep an eye on as a streamable starter.

Diamondbacks | D-backs announce starting rotation

Mon, 30 Mar 2015 14:50:08 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SPs Josh Collmenter, Rubby De La Rosa, Jeremy Hellickson, Chase Anderson and Trevor Cahill will be in the starting rotation, according to manager Chip Hale.

Fantasy Tip: Check back for updates on who will pitch when, but there is limited fantasy value in this rotation. Add the fact Arizona's home ballpark is extremely hitter friendly, and FantasyScore players will want to generally avoid utilizing these starters in contests.

Diamondbacks | Rubby De La Rosa has rotation job

Tue, 24 Mar 2015 22:15:05 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa has a spot in the starting rotation, manager Chip Hale confirmed Tuesday, March 24.

Fantasy Tip: De La Rosa is worth a late-round pick in NL-only leagues when rounding out a fantasy rotation. He could emerge as a useful option in standard mixed formats, too, especially when he faces two starts in a scoring period.
