The New York Giants activated FS Will Hill for the Week 10 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He returned to practice this week after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances. The team was given a one-week roster exemption for Hill which expires with his return to the active roster.

New York Giants SS Tyler Sash (hamstring) was considered the favorite for the No. 3 safety job during minicamp, but a hamstring injury throughout camp hampered him. That opened the door for FS Stevie Brown and FS Will Hill, and both impressed safeties coach Dave Merritt. However, Sash has the most experience, and is still believed to be the favorite.

"Brown really showed me some things that I did not see in his workout," Fewell said. "Steve did a really good job of covering some ground from the post position, from the half position." Brown might be the biggest competition to SS Tyler Sash (hamstring) for the third safety job.

Despite the injury, he is still considered the favorite to replace S Deon Grant. However, he'll have plenty of competition with safeties Stevie Brown, Will Hill, Chris Horton, Janzen Jackson and Jojo Nicolas also in the mix.
