Miami Marlins SP Jose Fernandez (undisclosed) is expected to land on the disabled list with an unknown injury.
Fantasy Tip: The exact nature of the injury is a mystery right now. Fernandez is undergoing an MRI exam in L.A., and we should know more this evening or tomorrow morning. Of the options currently on the roster, Kevin Slowey or Brad Hand could enter the rotation to take Fernandez's spot. Down on the farm, prospect Andrew Heaney or Brian Flynn would cause the bigger stir in fantasy circles if they were to be brought up. Stay tuned.

Miami Marlins SP Kevin Slowey will make the start against the Seattle Mariners Sunday, April 20, taking the spot of SP Brad Hand.
Fantasy Tip: Slowey hasn't pitched since last July due to a forearm injury. He gives up a ton of contact, so he's more of an NL-only commodity as an innings eater.

Miami Marlins SP Brad Hand allowed five earned runs, eight hits and a walk in just three innings in a loss Monday, April 14, against the Washington Nationals. He is now 1-11 in his career as a starter.
Wed, 09 Apr 2014 15:29:36 -0700
Miami Marlins SP Jacob Turner (shoulder) complained of shoulder pain after hitting in the batting cage before his start Wednesday, April 9. SP Brad Hand took Turner's rotation spot Wednesday, and he figures to remain in the rotation until Turner returns. Turner could be activated as early as April 18, meaning he could only miss two starts.
Fantasy Tip: It's good news that Turner's shoulder injury didn't come as the result of throwing, but rather swinging. There's optimism that he can return when eligible. Hand is only an NL-only commodity for the desperate.
