Moore is reportedly well liked in Charlotte after previously playing three years for the Panthers. "I don't think there was a better person that could come in and take over," Newton said. "I'm excited about taking the next steps in the process with him." "You never know what (a coach) has planned," Tolbert said. "But at the same time, I think the basic scheme of things probably won't change much." Tolbert thinks Shula's hiring will be good for QB Cam Newton because he will not have to learn a new offense.

Fantasy Tip: It was Newton's first multi-TD rushing performance since Week 13 last season. It was also just his third 300-yard passing game of the season. He remains a useful fantasy option in deeper leagues, but he is no longer considered a must-start unless he turns in games like this more regularly.

After being fired Monday, Oct. 22, Hurney suggested more players need to "step and up and say enough is enough" when it comes to losing games. "I think Marty hit the nail on the head," QB Cam Newton said. Newton added the team has leadership to an extent, but "it's not enough consistently."
