Packers | Week 17 game recap for Packers |
Sun, 31 Dec 2017 13:40:34 -0800
Green Bay Packers QB Brett Hundley completed 14-of-24 passes for 172 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Week 17 against the Detroit Lions before giving way to QB Joe Callahan, who completed 5-of-7 for 11 yards. RB Jamaal Williams led the charge with 22 rushes for 82 yards, while Hundley chipped with 15 yards. WR Trevor Davis led the team in receiving with 56 yards on three grabs, while WR Randall Cobb had four receptions, 45 yards and a touchdown while also tossing a 10-yard pass to Hundley.

Packers | Randall Cobb a cut candidate? |
Sat, 30 Dec 2017 19:21:11 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb is heading into the final year of his four-year, $40 million deal, and Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com believes Cobb could be asked to take a pay cut or could be released this offseason.
Fantasy Tip: Demovsky also noted that Jordy Nelson could be headed for a similar fate, so if Nelson leaves, Cobb could enjoy a nice boost in value if he sticks around. If Cobb is separated from Aaron Rodgers, his value would depend heavily on where he lands.

Packers | Randall Cobb held in check |
Sat, 23 Dec 2017 21:28:50 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb caught four passes on seven targets for 22 yards in a 16-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16.
Fantasy Tip: What a difference a quarterback makes. Cobb caught seven passes for 84 yards and a score with Aaron Rodgers under center last week. With Brett Hundley starting, Cobb couldn't manage a decent line despite Davante Adams being out and Jordy Nelson departing with an injury. You can avoid Cobb in the season finale.

Packers | Randall Cobb glad to have QB back |
Sun, 17 Dec 2017 15:29:49 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb posted seven receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown in the Week 15 game against the Carolina Panthers. He was likely glad to have QB Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) back, and he led the team with 14 targets.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb also took advantage of an injury to Davante Adams, who checked out early due to a concussion. If Adams is forced to miss time going forward, and he has only until Saturday against the Vikings to get back, then Cobb might be a sneaky WR3 or flex fantasy option into Week 16.

Packers | Randall Cobb posts eight receptions |
Sun, 10 Dec 2017 16:23:47 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb finished with eight catches for 39 yards on his eight targets in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb bounced back after being blanked against the Buccaneers, posting his most catches since Week 1 against the Seahawks. The yardage total was still low and he remains more of a WR4 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 15.

Packers | No targets for Randall Cobb |
Sun, 03 Dec 2017 16:14:22 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb did not have any catches or targets in Week 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Fantasy Tip: Brett Hundley threw for just 84 yards and all of the receivers had awful stat lines, but none worse than Cobb. It's unlikely Cobb will have any fantasy appeal until Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) is able to make his way back from injury.

Packers | Randall Cobb finishes with 34 yards |
Sun, 19 Nov 2017 13:59:22 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb caught three passes for 34 yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb has caught three or fewer passes in four of the last five games but has still been targeted 15 times over the last three games. Cobb can still be a flex option in some deeper leagues but can be benched if owners have better options available.

Packers | Seven touches for Randall Cobb |
Sun, 12 Nov 2017 19:01:37 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb posted three receptions for 52 yards on four targets in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears and he also ran four times for eight yards.
Fantasy Tip: The four rushes are what stands out, as perhaps they're trying to convert another wideout to running back a la Ty Montgomery. It isn't likely to happen again, although the cupboard was bare with Montgomery and Aaron Jones checking out due to injury, leaving only Jamaal Williams at tailback.

Packers | Randall Cobb reels in five catches |
Mon, 06 Nov 2017 22:28:30 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb hauled in all five of his targets for 58 yards in the team's Week 9 game Monday, Nov. 6, versus the Detroit Lions.
Fantasy Tip: This was Cobb's best game in weeks, providing some hope that he can still be useful at times in fantasy lineups even with Brett Hundley under center. However, at the end of the day, he's really just a WR4 at this juncture due to his erratic production.

Packers | Randall Cobb quiet in Week 7 |
Sun, 22 Oct 2017 15:07:03 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb caught two passes for 15 yards against the New Orleans Saints in Week 7.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb likely will see his stats drop while Aaron Rodgers is out of the lineup but should be more productive as he works more with Brett Hundley. Owners probably should consider Cobb as a flex option for the time being.

Packers | Randall Cobb posts three catches |
Sun, 15 Oct 2017 16:00:25 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb managed three catches for 28 yards on his three targets in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Fantasy Tip: It's bad enough Cobb has devolved into the No. 3 wideout in Green Bay, but now he'll be working with Brett Hundley rather than Aaron Rodgers after the latter suffered a collarbone injury.

Packers | Randall Cobb scores in return |
Thu, 28 Sep 2017 22:48:27 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb caught four passes for 44 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 4 win over the Chicago Bears.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb, who missed Week 3 with a chest injury, showed no lingering effects in catching all four of his targeted passes and scoring a short touchdown. It's hard to say if the potential absence of Davante Adams would impact Cobb's value as the team can line up a very capable Geronimo Allison outside, but at a minimum Cobb is a solid flex/WR3 play.

Packers | Randall Cobb will play |
Wed, 27 Sep 2017 13:51:37 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (chest) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Sept. 27.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb missed last week which gave him more time to recover from his chest ailment. There has been no indication as to whether or not he'll be on a snap count, so he can be started as at least a flex with added value in PPR leagues.

Packers | Randall Cobb not limited |
Tue, 26 Sep 2017 14:26:28 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (chest) participated fully in practice Tuesday, Sept. 26.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb looks good to go even in a short week versus the Chicago Bears Thursday night. There's no reason for the Packers to ease Cobb back in if he's full go in practice, so he can be started as a flex at the least with added value in PPR formats.

Packers | Randall Cobb has limited practice |
Mon, 25 Sep 2017 14:15:10 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (chest) was limited in practice Monday, Sept. 25. The Packers did not actually practice; this practice participation designation is an estimation.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb had an extra week off after being sidelined last weekend. The fact that he will be practicing at all is promising, but the Packers do play Thursday night. Keep tabs on his status leading up to then. If he plays he could be limited.

Green Bay Packers OT David Bakhtiari (hamstring), S Kentrell Brice (groin), WR Randall Cobb (chest), DT Mike Daniels (hip), CB Davon House (quadriceps), LB Nick Perry (hand) and LB Jake Ryan (hamstring, concussion) did not practice Friday, Sept. 22, and are doubtful for Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals. WR Jordy Nelson (quadriceps) fully practiced, while OT Bryan Bulaga (ankle) was limited, and both are listed as questionable. DT Montravius Adams (foot), LB Ahmad Brooks (concussion) and OG Jahri Evans (groin) were full participants and are no longer on the injury report.

Packers | Randall Cobb doubtful for Week 3 |
Fri, 22 Sep 2017 13:35:19 -0700
Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (chest) did not practice Friday, Sept. 22, and is listed as doubtful against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb is highly unlikely to play, but the good news is Jordy Nelson is likely to start. Deactivate Cobb in all formats, and consider Aaron Rodgers slightly less likely to have a sound game.

Packers | Randall Cobb a game-time call |
Fri, 22 Sep 2017 08:12:21 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (chest) will be a game-time decision in Week 3.
Fantasy Tip: If you own Cobb, it's likely he's a WR3 or a WR4. He hasn't performed well in the past through injuries, and it sounds like Jordy Nelson (quadriceps) will go. It's probably best to sit Cobb against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Packers | Randall Cobb still sidelined |
Thu, 21 Sep 2017 10:44:28 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (chest) has yet to practice this week after not practicing Thursday, Sept. 21.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb's status is iffy for Week 3. If he can't play then Jordy Nelson (if he plays) and Davante Adams will see the lion's share of Aaron Rodgers' targets. Martellus Bennett is also a quality start after receiving a team-high 11 targets last week.

Packers | Randall Cobb does not practice |
Wed, 20 Sep 2017 15:48:28 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (chest) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb is considered day-to-day and likely will need to practice at some point this week if he wants to play in Week 3. He has played well in the first two weeks of the season and could be a starting option for owners if he is active, but they will need other options ready to use if Cobb sits out.

Packers | Randall Cobb is day-to-day |
Mon, 18 Sep 2017 13:45:11 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb's (shoulder) MRI revealed no significant damage to his injured shoulder. He is considered day-to-day, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: The Packers and Cobb owners can breathe a sigh of relief. Cobb has played like his old self after a disappointing 2016 campaign in which he was hampered by injury. The shifty receiver is an every-week starter in PPR leagues as long as he's healthy. He can be started at least as a flex in standard formats.

Packers | Randall Cobb to have MRI |
Mon, 18 Sep 2017 09:14:11 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (shoulder) will have an MRI Monday, Sept. 18, on the shoulder injury that knocked him out of the Week 2 game.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb played through a shoulder injury two years ago and didn't do so very affectively. The Pack are already missing two of their best offensive linemen and lost Jordy Nelson (quadriceps) in Week 2. If Cobb can go and Nelson can't, he'd be in the low-end WR2/high-end WR3 realm. Stay tuned for updates.

Packers | Randall Cobb totals 70 yards |
Sun, 17 Sep 2017 21:57:37 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb posted six receptions for 60 yards on nine targets in Week 2 at Atlanta and he ran once for 10 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb did a good job in the second half, as everyone moved up and had more responsibilities once Jordy Nelson left the game early due to a quadriceps injury. If Nelson is forced to miss time Cobb could see six to eight targets in Week 3 against the Bengals to make him a useful WR3 or flex fantasy option.

Packers | Randall Cobb busy in opener |
Sun, 10 Sep 2017 20:59:11 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb led the team in receptions, targets and receiving yards in a 17-9 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1, catching nine of his 13 targets for 85 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb blamed his disappointing 2016 season on nagging injuries, and if Sunday was any indication, he could be back in top form. Consider him a WR3 with upside heading into a Week 2 matchup against Atlanta.

Packers | Randall Cobb wants to stay healthy |
Fri, 28 Jul 2017 20:11:19 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb said he is going to do everything he can to stay healthy this year.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb battled injuries throughout last season, but a big playoff run was a reminder of what he can do when healthy. Grab him as an upside WR3.

Packers | Belief remains in Randall Cobb |
Wed, 19 Jul 2017 07:46:08 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb still has the team's belief in him after his three-touchdown performance in the wild-card game against the New York Giants. "I think you saw him in those playoff games," wide receivers coach Luke Getsy said, "and he wasn't even totally healthy, and you saw who he is. He's an impactful guy. You take the Giants game early in the year, and it's third-and-long, and we throw the ball way short of the sticks and he's the only guy on the football team that makes that play for us."
Fantasy Tip: Cobb has battled injuries two seasons in a row, and he slumped to a 60-610-4 line last season. He morphed into a short-route receiver, and maybe that's what he's ultimately used as in order to keep him healthy. He's still just 27 in August, and it's still possible he returns to the WR2 fray. However, taking him as anything more than a WR3 simply adds too much risk.

Packers | Randall Cobb to see more touches? |
Thu, 08 Jun 2017 10:13:01 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb will receive more touches this season if head coach Mike McCarthy gets his way. Wide receivers coach Luke Getsy agrees. "When you have a guy like him that's so dynamic with the football in his hands… you've got to get him the football," Getsy said.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb played third fiddle to Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams last year, but he remains a dynamic playmaker in the slot for Green Bay. He's easily a weekly flex option and has WR3 appeal, if not more.

Fri, 10 Feb 2017 07:05:33 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb is entering a make-or-break year in 2017, according to beat writer Rob Demovsky.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb's numbers have fallen two years in a row. Granted, he has battled through injuries both seasons. The Packers have a couple of options developing at the position, and Davante Adams is in his walk year. Cobb will be a WR3 option with upside in fantasy in what will be a year he needs to make a statement.

Packers | Randall Cobb had only two drops |
Mon, 30 Jan 2017 17:09:39 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb dropped only two of his 105 targets this season and led the team with a drop rate of 1.9 percent. Cobb also led the team with an average of 5.05 yards after the catch.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb dealt with an injury near the end of the season and was limited to 610 yards and four touchdowns during the regular season. He was able to post 260 yards and three touchdowns in three postseason games. Cobb will continue to be one of the team's starting receivers in 2017 and can be a No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Sun, 22 Jan 2017 16:36:39 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb caught six passes for a team-high 82 yards in the NFC Championship Game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Jan. 22.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb comes with injury concerns and sometimes gets lost in the shuffle of Green Bay's wealth of weapons. He's a WR3 in most fantasy situations for 2017, but at only 26 years old, the six-year vet enters the prime of his career.

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 13, and is not on the injury report for the Divisional round playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb likely will serve as the No. 1 receiver with Jordy Nelson out of the lineup and is coming off a terrific Wild Card playoff game. He will see a solid amount of targets in the game and should be considered a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Packers | Randall Cobb full go |
Thu, 12 Jan 2017 13:12:16 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) participated fully in practice Thursday, Jan. 12.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb had a heavy workload last week with Jordy Nelson injured. He should see a similar workload this week with Nelson expected to be sidelined. He's a safe investment in daily formats even against a healthy Dallas Cowboys defense. The Packers should be throwing plenty, as usual, with an anemic rushing offense.

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb caught five passes for 116 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-13 win over the New York Giants Sunday, Jan. 8.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb returned from an ankle injury and had by far his best game of the season. He deserves plenty of consideration against the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round, especially if Jordy Nelson is still hobbled.

Packers | Randall Cobb will play |
Sun, 08 Jan 2017 12:16:41 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) is officially active for the Wild Card playoff game against the New York Giants.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb will return to the lineup after missing some games because of the injury. He posted disappointing numbers during the second half of the season but should still have a solid role in the passing game. Owners in fantasy playoff leagues can consider Cobb a No. 3 receiver or a flex option.

Packers | Randall Cobb expected to play |
Fri, 06 Jan 2017 20:44:46 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) is expected to play against the New York Giants Sunday, Jan. 8.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb has underperformed most of the year, and he is nothing more than a roll-of-the-dice play in DFS formats. Assuming Cobb does return, Geronimo Allison will lose his sleeper appeal.

Fri, 06 Jan 2017 19:11:39 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison's role in the offense may or may not change if WR Randall Cobb (ankle) plays against the New York Giants Sunday, Jan. 8, according to head coach Mike McCarthy, but McCarthy did say it will be important to give Cobb some opportunities if he does play.
Fantasy Tip: While he didn't come out and say it, Allison's fantasy value will likely disappear if Cobb plays. That being said, Allison could be an excellent fantasy sleeper if Cobb is sidelined again.

Packers | Randall Cobb questionable to play |
Fri, 06 Jan 2017 12:59:01 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) is being considered questionable to play in the team's Wild Card playoff game Sunday, Jan. 8, versus the New York Giants. He was a limited participant in practice for the third consecutive day Friday, Jan. 6.
Fantasy Tip: It's hard to trust Cobb right now in any fantasy format, as even before missing the final two regular season games, he was largely ineffective in the three weeks prior. That being said, DFS owners would be better off looking past his services this weekend if he ultimately suits up. If Cobb has to sit again, Geronimo Allison would probably have the most to gain.

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Jan. 5.

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) did well during practice Wednesday, Jan. 4, and will be able to participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 5, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb should be able to play in the Wild Card playoff game unless he suffers a setback over the next few days. His role in the offense is uncertain at this point, but he should probably see some targets if he is active. He could be a No. 3 receiver of a flex option for owners.

Sun, 01 Jan 2017 06:36:29 -0800
There is a possibility that Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) will dress for Week 17's game against the Detroit Lions but he isn't expected to see much playing time.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb did not practice at all during the week and is listed as questionable on the injury report. It has been a disappointing season for the 26-year-old veteran and even if he does suit up, he might be relegated to decoy status. At best, Cobb should be viewed as a very risky WR3 or flex option for Week 17.

Thu, 29 Dec 2016 16:00:59 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) did not participate in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 29.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb was absent from Green Bay's last game and it appears he's likely to miss another, although there's still some time for that to change. After all, the Packers are playing for a division crown on Sunday night, and they haven't even secured their postseason berth yet, so Cobb might be willing to tough it out depending on how he feels in a few days. Fantasy Tip: The Packers could use Cobb in their game against the Detroit Lions this week, so owners should check on his status later in the week. Cobb has not posted great numbers over the past month but could still be a flex option in some leagues if he plays.
