Packers | Randall Cobb not on injury report

Fri, 13 Jan 2017 13:24:41 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 13, and is not on the injury report for the Divisional round playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb likely will serve as the No. 1 receiver with Jordy Nelson out of the lineup and is coming off a terrific Wild Card playoff game. He will see a solid amount of targets in the game and should be considered a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Packers | Randall Cobb full go

Thu, 12 Jan 2017 13:12:16 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) participated fully in practice Thursday, Jan. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb had a heavy workload last week with Jordy Nelson injured. He should see a similar workload this week with Nelson expected to be sidelined. He's a safe investment in daily formats even against a healthy Dallas Cowboys defense. The Packers should be throwing plenty, as usual, with an anemic rushing offense.

Packers | Randall Cobb practices in full

Wed, 11 Jan 2017 16:05:31 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Jan. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb is coming off an outstanding Wild Card playoff game performance and could be the No. 1 receiver this week if Jordy Nelson is ruled out. Cobb will receive plenty of work against the Dallas Cowboys and can be considered a No. 2 receivers in fantasy leagues.

Packers | Three scores for Randall Cobb

Sun, 08 Jan 2017 17:10:25 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb caught five passes for 116 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-13 win over the New York Giants Sunday, Jan. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb returned from an ankle injury and had by far his best game of the season. He deserves plenty of consideration against the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round, especially if Jordy Nelson is still hobbled.

Packers | Randall Cobb will play

Sun, 08 Jan 2017 12:16:41 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) is officially active for the Wild Card playoff game against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb will return to the lineup after missing some games because of the injury. He posted disappointing numbers during the second half of the season but should still have a solid role in the passing game. Owners in fantasy playoff leagues can consider Cobb a No. 3 receiver or a flex option.

Packers | Randall Cobb expected to play

Fri, 06 Jan 2017 20:44:46 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) is expected to play against the New York Giants Sunday, Jan. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb has underperformed most of the year, and he is nothing more than a roll-of-the-dice play in DFS formats. Assuming Cobb does return, Geronimo Allison will lose his sleeper appeal.

Packers | Geronimo Allison's role up in the air

Fri, 06 Jan 2017 19:11:39 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison's role in the offense may or may not change if WR Randall Cobb (ankle) plays against the New York Giants Sunday, Jan. 8, according to head coach Mike McCarthy, but McCarthy did say it will be important to give Cobb some opportunities if he does play.

Fantasy Tip: While he didn't come out and say it, Allison's fantasy value will likely disappear if Cobb plays. That being said, Allison could be an excellent fantasy sleeper if Cobb is sidelined again.

Packers | Randall Cobb questionable to play

Fri, 06 Jan 2017 12:59:01 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) is being considered questionable to play in the team's Wild Card playoff game Sunday, Jan. 8, versus the New York Giants. He was a limited participant in practice for the third consecutive day Friday, Jan. 6.

Fantasy Tip: It's hard to trust Cobb right now in any fantasy format, as even before missing the final two regular season games, he was largely ineffective in the three weeks prior. That being said, DFS owners would be better off looking past his services this weekend if he ultimately suits up. If Cobb has to sit again, Geronimo Allison would probably have the most to gain.

Packers | Randall Cobb limited Thursday

Thu, 05 Jan 2017 13:28:42 -0800

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Jan. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb hasn't played in nearly a month, so he could be somewhat rusty upon his expected return. Don't anticipate a normal workload for the shifty receiver. He's a risky play for those in fantasy playoff leagues or daily contests.

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) did well during practice Wednesday, Jan. 4, and will be able to participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 5, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb should be able to play in the Wild Card playoff game unless he suffers a setback over the next few days. His role in the offense is uncertain at this point, but he should probably see some targets if he is active. He could be a No. 3 receiver of a flex option for owners.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb appears to be on track to play in the Wild Card playoff game, but owners should check on his status later in the week. He could see limited snaps if he plays but can still be a No. 3 receiver or a flex option in fantasy leagues.

Packers | Randall Cobb will practice

Wed, 04 Jan 2017 12:56:22 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) will participate in practice Wednesday, Jan. 4.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb has missed the last two games because of the injury but may be able to play in the Wild Card playoff game. Cobb had a disappointing 2016 season but could still have some value in playoff fantasy leagues. Owners could consider him as a No. 3 receiver or a flex option in leagues.

Packers | Randall Cobb looking more promising

Mon, 02 Jan 2017 13:12:48 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb's (ankle) chances of playing this week are better than they were last week, according to head coach Mike McCarthy and the Packers' medical staff.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb hasn't played in three weeks, so he could be limited even if he does play. He'll be a risky play in playoff leagues in a tough matchup against the New York Giants.

Packers | Randall Cobb could have limited role

Sun, 01 Jan 2017 06:36:29 -0800

There is a possibility that Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) will dress for Week 17's game against the Detroit Lions but he isn't expected to see much playing time.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb did not practice at all during the week and is listed as questionable on the injury report. It has been a disappointing season for the 26-year-old veteran and even if he does suit up, he might be relegated to decoy status. At best, Cobb should be viewed as a very risky WR3 or flex option for Week 17.

Fri, 30 Dec 2016 20:03:57 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) is progressing, and the hope is he'll be able to do some work in practice Saturday, Dec. 31, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: If Cobb suits up against the Detroit Lions, he has been rendered to a WR3 in fantasy without a lot of upside right now.

Packers | Randall Cobb sidelined again at practice

Thu, 29 Dec 2016 16:00:59 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) did not participate in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb was absent from Green Bay's last game and it appears he's likely to miss another, although there's still some time for that to change. After all, the Packers are playing for a division crown on Sunday night, and they haven't even secured their postseason berth yet, so Cobb might be willing to tough it out depending on how he feels in a few days. However, even if that is the case, he wouldn't be a recommended option.

Packers | Randall Cobb sits out

Wed, 28 Dec 2016 17:13:17 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers could use Cobb in their game against the Detroit Lions this week, so owners should check on his status later in the week. Cobb has not posted great numbers over the past month but could still be a flex option in some leagues if he plays.

Packers | Randall Cobb hopeful for finale

Mon, 26 Dec 2016 19:53:06 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) said Monday, Dec. 26, that he is hopeful of playing in the Week 17 game against the Detroit Lions. "That's what we're hoping for," Cobb said. "That was one of the reasons that I was inactive this past week. We're hoping for progress through the week and be able to go on Sunday."

Fantasy Tip: If Cobb is again inactive, Geronimo Allison would be called upon to fill the void. Cobb is not worth the risk for fantasy owners playing into Week 17.

Packers | Randall Cobb won't play in Week 16

Sat, 24 Dec 2016 08:46:46 -0800

The Green Bay Packers have declared WR Randall Cobb (ankle) inactive for Week 16's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb participated on a limited basis in practice throughout the week, so the Packers' decision to deactivate him appears to be a precautionary measure. Davante Adams could see an increased number of targets in Cobb's absence and he should be viewed as a WR3 or flex option this afternoon.

Packers | Randall Cobb likely to play

Sat, 24 Dec 2016 07:14:15 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) is expected to play in Week 16's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb was limited in practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. His recent play has been rather inconsistent, so he is not worthy of consideration as anything more than a flex option in deeper fantasy leagues.

Packers | Questionable tag for Randall Cobb

Fri, 23 Dec 2016 15:36:14 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb should be able to play in Week 16, but owners will need to check the inactive list to make sure. He has been held to four catches or fewer in six of his last seven games and has at least 40 yards in only two of those games. He can be a No. 3 receiver or a flex option in some leagues, but owners could consider benching him if they have better options.

Packers | Randall Cobb limited again Thursday

Thu, 22 Dec 2016 15:31:24 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) was limited at practice again Thursday, Dec. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb is seemingly limited every week in practice, so he should be good to go for Week 16. Unfortunately, that indicates he's still going at less than 100 percent, and Cobb's production has started to become erratic as a result. He's in the WR3 discussion.

Packers | Randall Cobb listed as questionable

Wed, 21 Dec 2016 16:23:16 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb has not been much of a factor in the passing game over the last several weeks and was held off the stat sheet in Week 15. He probably will see limited targets in Week 16 if he is active, and owners could bench him if they have better options.

Sun, 18 Dec 2016 17:30:11 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) was targeted just once in the Week 15 game against the Chicago Bears, finishing with no offensive statistics.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb was questionable for the game due to an ankle injury, and he certainly was not himself. Avoid him in Week 16 against the Minnesota Vikings until he can prove his health again.

Packers | Randall Cobb active for Week 15

Sun, 18 Dec 2016 09:07:29 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) is active for Week 15's game against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb was a limited participant in practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. However, he has been held to fewer than 50 yards in five of his last six games, with just one touchdown during this stretch, so he shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a WR3 or flex option this week.

Fri, 16 Dec 2016 17:06:24 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 16, and is listed as questionable for Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb probably will be able to play in Week 15 even though he is listed as questionable. He has posted 50 yards or less in five of the last six games and has only one touchdown during that span. Cobb can be a No. 3 receiver or flex option in most leagues.

Packers | Randall Cobb still limited

Thu, 15 Dec 2016 17:14:06 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb suffered the injury in the last game and was limited to 33 yards, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. He has been held to under 50 yards in five of his last six games but can still be a No. 3 receiver if he is able to play.

Packers | Randall Cobb back on the field

Sun, 11 Dec 2016 15:27:29 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (ankle) left the Week 14 game against the Seattle Seahawks due to an ankle injury, but he was able to return to the game after a brief absence.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb is without a reception into the second half, and with a 21-3 lead midway through the third quarter it is likely that the run game is used a lot more. Not good for Cobb's fantasy outlook the rest of the way.

Packers | Randall Cobb able to score

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 18:03:55 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb posted three catches for just 19 yards in the Week 13 game against the Houston Texans, but he was able to salvage the stat line with a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb and Davante Adams were both invisible in the offense in this win, as Aaron Rodgers only seemed to have eyes for Jordy Nelson in this one. Cobb has devolved into more of a WR3 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 14.

Packers | Randall Cobb quiet in victory

Mon, 28 Nov 2016 21:24:21 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb posted six receptions for 41 yards in the Week 12 game against the Philadelphia Eagles Monday, Nov. 28. He was targeted seven times.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb appears to have fallen behind Davante Adams in the pecking order among wideouts. That's not good for his fantasy appeal going forward. Treat him more as a WR3 heading into Week 13 against the Houston Texans.

Packers | Randall Cobb limited yet again

Fri, 18 Nov 2016 13:45:11 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice for the third straight day Friday, Nov. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb typically gets in limited sessions these days, so this is just par for the course for the 26-year-old. Since he's not even listed on the injury report, his status for Sunday evening's tilt with the Redskins is not in jeopardy at all. Although he's hauled in only six catches over the past couple of weeks, Cobb has a very favorable matchup on tap in a game that figures to feature plenty of points, making him a fine WR2 option to deploy.

Packers | Limited practice for Randall Cobb

Thu, 17 Nov 2016 14:12:31 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb has scored three times in his last four games, but he has only totaled 45 yards in his last two games. There is a plethora of mouths to feed in Green Bay, and if Cobb is on a snap count this week then he might be too risky to start. Keep tabs on his status heading into the weekend.

Packers | Randall Cobb limited Wednesday

Wed, 16 Nov 2016 14:14:52 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb was targeted eight times in the last game but finished with only 31 yards on four catches. He will continue to be a main part of the team's passing game over the last six weeks of the season and can be a No. 2 receiver in most fantasy leagues as long as he is able to play.

Packers | Randall Cobb limited in practice again

Fri, 11 Nov 2016 14:03:09 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice for the third straight day Friday, Nov. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Even though he's been limited all week, head coach Mike McCarthy has already gone on record of saying that Cobb will be without restrictions in Week 10. In other words, the veteran wide-out will have a good shot of producing his usual WR2 value versus the Titans on Sunday.

Packers | No limits on Randall Cobb

Fri, 11 Nov 2016 10:33:46 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) will be a "full-time player" in Week 10 against the Tennessee Titans, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb missed his first game since 2013 in Week 8 and was limited to second-half snaps in Week 9, but he still managed to score a touchdown last week. He appeared to have his usual quickness when he did enter the game, so owners shouldn't be overly concerned about rust. With Green Bay relying almost exclusively on the passing game in recent weeks, Cobb should be viewed as a player with WR1 upside almost every week.

Packers | Randall Cobb has limited reps

Thu, 10 Nov 2016 14:31:22 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb was on a snap count last week after being injured, but he still caught a touchdown on two targets. The Packers might choose to limit him again in order to limit the risk of aggravation. Keep tabs on his status, but be prepared for an alternative plan.

Packers | Limited participation for Randall Cobb

Wed, 09 Nov 2016 14:54:37 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb was able to play in Week 9 despite the injury and caught a touchdown for the third straight game but was limited to 14 yards. Cobb should be able to play this week as long as he does not suffer a setback. He will be a risky option for owners but can still be a starting option if he is active.

Packers | Randall Cobb used sparingly

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 21:12:34 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) had a pair of receptions for 14 yards with a touchdown in the Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts. He was targeted just twice.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb did not see any snaps in the first half, as the team held him out as a precaution. Despite being used sparingly he has a touchdown in each of his past three games. He is a decent WR3 in most fantasy leagues when healthy, but watch his practices and status closely next week before pulling the trigger on him in Week 10.

Packers | Randall Cobb active

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 12:21:16 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) is active for the team's Week 9 game.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb will be playing even though he was limited during practice this week. It is not known how much playing time he will receive, which makes him a risky option. Owners in leagues may want to look for healthier options to use in their lineups, but Cobb could be started as a No. 3 receiver or flex option.

Packers | Randall Cobb not expected to play

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 08:15:52 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) appears unlikely to play in Week 9's game against the Indianapolis Colts, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb was a limited participant in practice throughout the week and had been listed as questionable on the injury report. Fantasy owners should already have alternate wide receiver options on hand with Cobb expected to miss his second consecutive game.

Fri, 04 Nov 2016 13:33:42 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 4, and is listed as questionable for Week 9. The Packers did not practice Friday, so this is an estimation.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb was not able to play in the last game, so owners will need to keep an eye on the situation over the weekend. He would have a solid role in the passing game if he plays and can be considered a No. 2 receiver in leagues.

Fri, 04 Nov 2016 07:59:17 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) will be a game-time decision in Week 9, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: The Indianapolis Colts are actually decent against opposing wide receivers as they've only allowed five touchdowns to them thus far. Cobb hasn't been able to play well through injuries in the past, and he might not be worth the risk this week.

Thu, 03 Nov 2016 14:25:11 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 3.

Fantasy Tip: It's unlikely that Cobb would miss his second straight game after practicing throughout the week. If he doesn't suffer any setbacks then he should be good to go. If he is active then he'll be in WR2 territory with more value in PPR formats.

Packers | Limited practice for Randall Cobb

Wed, 02 Nov 2016 14:58:15 -0700

Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb won't to miss out on this week's outing. He and the Packers could be in for a shootout with the Indianapolis Colts. If Cobb is active then he's a viable WR2. He, Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams are all automatic starts as long as they're healthy. The Packers still have no running game to speak of, so they'll continue to pass early and often.

Packers | Randall Cobb ruled out for Week 8

Sun, 30 Oct 2016 06:40:45 -0700

Confirming a previous report, Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (hamstring) will not play in Week 8's game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers appear to be holding Cobb out of this game as a precautionary measure, even though he had 11 catches for 95 yards and a touchdown last week against the Chicago Bears. He was limited in practice throughout the week and was listed as doubtful on the most recent version of the injury report. WRs Davante Adams and Ty Montgomery should see slight fantasy boosts as a result of this development, in what has the potential to be a high-scoring affair versus Atlanta.
