The Green Bay Packers were beaten by the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, and the Bills excelled by playing physical with the Packers receivers and disrupting the routes of WRs Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams. The Bills had just one sack on Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and three hits, but the lack of blitzing allowed Buffalo's corners to play more aggressively on the outside. "They were physical outside with our receivers and were able to get away with it all day," Rodgers said. "We had some chances, missed on them."
Fantasy Tip: Rodgers' dud likely cost many a chance at a fantasyfootball title. If you're playing at FantasyScore, though, he has an excellent chance to bounce back and get you a win in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their poor defense.
Mon, 08 Dec 2014 03:40:14 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb is the team's top priority in the offseason, and the Packers are trying to work out a long-term deal to keep Cobb in Green Bay.
Thu, 23 Oct 2014 18:04:16 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb said he feels much better about his level of play in recent weeks than he did at the start of the year. "You just kind of get in a zone," Cobb said. "It's like a runner's high, or writing an exam paper and you're on page 7, and the next thing you know you're on page 12. It's just one of those things where you continue to press on, and things happen."
Fantasy Tip: Cobb has found the end zone at least once in four straight games, and he should be in for another big performance in Week 8 against a New Orleans defense that is allowing more than 270 yards per game through the air. His $7,800 salary (15.6% of cap) at FantasyScore ranks third at the position, but Cobb has the matchup and the momentum to live up to the price tag.
Sat, 27 Sep 2014 20:56:38 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson's 12.3 targets per game are the most in the NFL after three weeks, and WR Randall Cobb ranks second on the team with 7.0 targets per game.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb has padded his point total this season by catching three touchdowns, but Nelson is clearly Aaron Rodgers' go-to weapon right now. Cobb will cost $7,4000 (14.8% of cap) at FantasyScore in Week 4 and Nelson will cost $8,300 (16.6% of cap), but Nelson could be worth the extra cost because of the hefty amount of targets he has been seeing.
Fri, 26 Sep 2014 18:26:11 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb will be facing the Chicago Bears in Week 4. In his final meeting against the Bears in Week 15 of the 2012 season, he had six grabs for 115 yards. In his only meeting last season against the Bears, he managed two catches for 55 yards, and both grabs went for touchdowns.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb is a solid value in FantasyScore at $7400 (or 14.8 percent of the salary cap), especially since he has three touchdown grabs in the first three games.
Fri, 05 Sep 2014 06:24:32 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson had nine catches for 83 yards and was targeted 14 times in Week 1.
Fantasy Tip: Nelson posted a solid 17.3 points in Week 1 on FantasyScore. The Packers had him flanked out left with Randall Cobb in the slot a lot. Jarrett Boykin was not thrown to as he was split out right and drew Richard Sherman most of the night. They'll have easier assignments next week against the New York Jets.
Fri, 05 Sep 2014 06:20:53 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb had six catches for 58 yards and a touchdown in Week 1.

Green Bay Packers WRs Randall Cobb, Myles White and Jared Abbrederis were returning punts in practice Thursday, July 31. White struggled Wednesday, July 30, but looked better Thursday. White never returned punts or kickoffs in college, but he could be a valuable asset in the return game due to his speed, if he makes the team.
Mon, 28 Jul 2014 09:37:15 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb doesn't think he's done enough yet in his career to deserve a contract extension from the team. He's entering the final year of his rookie deal, and Cobb had a breakout year in 2012 with 80 catches for 954 yards and eight touchdowns. "I got injured in a way that there was nothing I could do about it," Cobb said. "I think my job is just to come out here every day, do what I'm supposed to, continue to work hard, and hopefully my time will come."
Thu, 20 Feb 2014 11:52:47 -0800
The Green Bay Packers view an extension with WR Jordy Nelson as a priority over one for WR Randall Cobb, according to a person with knowledge of the team's plans. Nelson has a year and $2.5 million left on his deal. Cobb has expressed that he'd like to remain in Green Bay.

Thu, 09 Jan 2014 20:10:03 -0800
Green Bay Packers wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett said WR Randall Cobb could see time as an outside receiver in the future. "I think just going back and talking about a tough-minded individual, mentally as well as physically, I think he can go outside. That's something that we certainly talked about and worked on some during training camp. But obviously, he's a difference-maker in slot. Wherever you put him, he can be a difference. He can continue to be an impact player."

Sun, 29 Dec 2013 06:32:06 -0800

Sat, 28 Dec 2013 14:37:45 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (leg) was activated from the Injured Reserve/Designated to Return list Saturday, Dec. 28, and was added to the injury report with a listing of questionable.
Fantasy Tip: This means he's not certain to play on Sunday, but anyone in a Week 17 Super Bowl has a new waiver-wire target if he's available. If Cobb suits up, he may not play the entire game, but his WR2 upside is enough on which to take a chance if you own someone like Dwayne Bowe. (concussion).
Thu, 26 Dec 2013 15:20:07 -0800
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said WR Randall Cobb (leg) did well during practice Thursday, Dec. 26, and is making good progress. Cobb will be reevaluated Friday, Dec. 27.
Thu, 26 Dec 2013 10:12:46 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (leg) was very close to playing in Week 16, meaning he has a real chance to return in Week 17 against the Chicago Bears.
Fantasy Tip: This is positive news for the Packers, especially if they make the playoffs, but it's too risky to bank on a Cobb return if you're playing for your league's championship.

Wed, 20 Nov 2013 19:06:49 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (leg) is off crutches and he is no longer using a Segway to get around. Cobb spoke with reporters Wednesday, Nov. 20, but he did not offer a timetable for when he will be able to return to practice. Cobb is on the Injured Reserve/designated to return list, and he will be eligible to play Dec. 15. He is eligible to practice two weeks before that. "I can't make that call right now," Cobb said. "Right now, today, I cannot play. I'm doing everything I can. I'm working my butt off in the rehab process, but this is something that needs time. It's getting better. There's still no timeline on when I can come back."
Fantasy Tip: In the next week or two, it might be a good idea to stash Cobb on your fantasy bench if you have some roster flexibility, and now if you have a vacant injured spot. There is no guarantee he will be able to return at all, or be effective when he does come back. However, he is a dynamic player who is worth the risk.

Green Bay Packers WR Jarrett Boykin posted 103 receiving yards in the Week 7 game against the Cleveland Browns. He entered the game with just 70 career receiving yards, but saw plenty of action with injuries to WRs Randall Cobb (leg) and James Jones (knee) inactive.
Fantasy Tip: Boykin should continue to be in the mix for targets in the Green Bay offense, especially with TE Jermichael Finley (head) also leaving the game Sunday due to a head injury. Boykin is worth a look as a WR4 or flex play in most fantasy formats.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb owners can consider dropping him in their leagues because he may not be back until the last month of the season. Owners in deeper leagues should look to add Jarrett Boykin because his role in the passing game probably will increase substantially with Cobb out with a long-term injury.

Fantasy Tip: With Cobb missing time, Jarrett Boykin and Jermichael Finley likely will receive bigger roles in the passing game. Owners in deeper leagues could consider adding Boykin as a flex option. Finley was performing well before Cobb's injury, but now should be seen as a safe starting tight end option each week. James Jones could also see a bump in value depending on when he will be able to return from his injury.

Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley (toe) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 11. Head coach Mike McCarthy said he is not sure if Finley will be able to practice Thursday, Sept. 12.
Fantasy Tip: It appears there is a chance that Finley may not be able to play Week 2 because of his toe injury. If he is not able to play, Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson and James Jones could see a bump on their fantasy values because they would receive more targets in the passing game.
