Minnesota Twins SS Jamey Carroll will return to a super utility role with the call-up of SS Brian Dozier, who will start at shortstop. Dozier is hitting second in the lineup Monday, May 7.

The Minnesota Twins are unlikely to recall SS Brian Dozier to the big club, as manager Ron Gardenhire said Dozier is still "working on coming in on balls. He's had a little trouble coming in...but we didn't see that in spring training." General manager Terry Ryan also indicated Dozier would not be recalled unless he was to play every day.

Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he's not ready to bring up INF Brian Dozier, who is hitting .340 (17-for-50) with five doubles and six RBIs with Triple-A Rochester. "Well," said Gardenhire, "you can blog them that Dozier's having problems coming in on ground balls, getting slow rollers and getting people out. I read that in my reports. So that's something to work on - if you're looking for stuff to work on." Dozier is being prepped as a shortstop, not a utility infielder.

Minnesota Twins INF Brian Dozier is unlikely to make the team as a backup. "If he's staying, he's playing," manager Ron Gardenhire said. INFs Luke Hughes and Sean Burroughs are the favorites for the utility spot, but they don't have experience at shortstop. INFs Pedro Florimon Jr. and Michael Hollimon are firmly in the hunt for a roster spot.
