Thu, 06 Jun 2013 12:08:04 -0700 Detroit Lions RB Mikel Leshoure (hamstring) was able to have limited participation during organized team activities Monday, June 4. He said he is trying to manage his lingering hamstring injury in hopes of being 100 percent once training camp begins.
Wed, 29 May 2013 12:50:32 -0700 Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said he does not think RB Mikel Leshoure (hamstring) is dealing with a long-term injury. Schwartz said the team is taking a cautious approach with Leshoure because they do not want him to rush him back.
Wed, 29 May 2013 11:41:52 -0700 Detroit Lions RB Mikel Leshoure (hamstring) did not participate in organized team activities Wednesday, May 29, because of a lingering hamstring injury. Head coach Jim Schwartz did not express a lot of concern about the injury but said the injury has taken longer to heal than the team expected. Fantasy Tip: The team is taking their time with Leshoure's injury because it could continue to linger if it does not heal properly. Leshoure is expected to be the team's primary backup running back this season and could see time near the goal line.
Wed, 22 May 2013 11:46:12 -0700 Detroit Lions RB Mikel Leshoure (undisclosed) was limited to individual drills during organized team activities Wednesday, May 22, because of an undisclosed injury. Fantasy Tip: Leshoure will be used as a change-of-pace back to Reggie Bush and likely will receive carries near the goal line and when Bush needs to rest. He could be an option in later rounds of fantasy drafts.
Fri, 17 May 2013 10:01:45 -0700 Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush is comfortable in the team's offense, and he's comparing it to the days when he was with the New Orleans Saints. "I've always enjoyed being in the position that I am and doing what I do, being able to split out wide and catch balls so it's great that offenses are going toward that direction," Bush said. Fantasy Tip: Now that he should be effectively used in the passing attack, Bush could approach RB1 levels in point-per-reception leagues. He proved in Miami that he can be a primary back, too, so Detroit will likely use him as such and leave the short-yardage situations to Mikel Leshoure.
Thu, 09 May 2013 11:28:41 -0700 Detroit Lions RB Mikel Leshoure faced an eight-man defensive front in only 6.05 percent of his carries last season, which is less than any other rusher with at least 100 carries. Fantasy Tip: Leshoure did not have a lot of big plays in 2012, which is why the team added Reggie Bush in free agency. Leshoure is still valuable because he probably will receive some carries during games while Bush rests as well as near the goal line. Bush has dealt with injuries in the past, so Leshoure could get a bigger role as the season goes on.
Tue, 26 Mar 2013 11:07:22 -0700 Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said all three of the teams running backs, Reggie Bush, Mikel Leshoure, and Joique Bell, will have a role in 2013. "Joique runs the ball a little bit different than Mikel, but they both run a little bit different and present different things than Reggie, and I think that combination of guys is good. People like to say running back by committee and things like that, but each guy will have a role. There will be plenty of touches on the offense for everybody."
Tue, 26 Mar 2013 10:59:22 -0700 Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said he has confidence in RB's Mikel Leshoure and Joique Bell. "We have a lot of confidence in both of those guys (Bell and Leshoure)," Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said. "Both of those guys are going to be good players that we continue to move forward with, and they all have unique skill sets.
Wed, 13 Mar 2013 05:08:09 -0700 The Detroit Lions have offered free-agent RB Reggie Bush (Dolphins) a full-time position in the offense over RB Mikel Leshoure.
Fri, 21 Dec 2012 14:11:21 -0800 Detroit Lions RB Mikel Leshoure (calf) was limited in practice Friday, Dec. 21, and is probable for Week 16.
