White Sox | Jose Abreu batting second

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 10:07:13 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu is batting second against Detroit Tigers SP Kyle Ryan Saturday, June 27. It marks the first time in Abreu's major league career that he is hitting in the No. 2 spot. OF Avisail Garcia will bat in the No. 3 spot, followed by DH Adam LaRoche, OF Melky Cabrera and SS Alexei Ramirez.

Fantasy Tip: The White Sox have scored 19 runs in their last four games, so it's uncertain what brought upon this lineup shakeup. Abreu ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) is 2-for-5 in his career against Ryan and is batting .323 over the last week.

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia was dropped to sixth in the order Wednesday, June 24, against Minnesota Twins SP Phil Hughes.

Fantasy Tip: Garcia ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) is hitting just .149 in June and probably should be avoided on FantasyScore.

White Sox | Avisail Garcia out of lineup

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 15:44:46 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia is resting Thursday, June 18, against the Pittsburgh Pirates and RHP Gerrit Cole. OF J.B. Shuck will start in right field and hit second in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Shuck ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting .281 on the season, while walking more than he's striking out. Shuck has been feasting off righties this season, to the tune of a .306 batting average, making him an excellent, cost-effective FantasyScore option, despite the tough matchup.

Sat, 30 May 2015 11:58:29 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia (knee) is back in the starting lineup against the Houston Astros Saturday, May 30, batting third.

Fantasy Tip: Garcia ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) had been sidelined for several days with knee inflammation. You may want to avoid using him in FantasyScore until he has demonstrated he is completely healthy.

White Sox | Avisail Garcia continues to sit

Fri, 29 May 2015 14:01:48 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia (knee) remains out of the starting lineup Friday, May 29. OF J.B. Shuck is starting in right field and hitting seventh in the batting order against Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers.

Fantasy Tip: Garcia continues to be day-to-day with inflammation in his knee. Continue to check back for updates. Shuck ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has recorded two hits in three of his last four starts while filling in for Garcia, and he's an under-the-radar FantasyScore option that can also contribute with his speed. However, Shuck is probably nothing more than a deep sleeper play for the time being.

Thu, 28 May 2015 15:32:54 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia (knee) sat out both games of the doubleheader Thursday, May 28, against the Baltimore Orioles.

Fantasy Tip: Garcia ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) should be avoided on FantasyScore until he achieves full health. J.B. Shuck ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) continues starting in right field, but he's purely a GPP option.

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia (knee) is not in the starting lineup Thursday, May 28, against the Baltimore Orioles in Game 1 of their doubleheader. OF J.B. Shuck is starting in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Shuck ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) shouldn't be considered as anything more than a cap-saving play with today's small slate of games.

White Sox | Avisail Garcia expected out again

Wed, 27 May 2015 05:55:35 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia (knee) is expected to miss the series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays Wednesday, May 27. Garcia left the game in the second inning Monday, May 25, and did not play Tuesday, May 26, either. Manager Robin Ventura said it would be highly unlikely Garcia will play before Chicago's doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles Thursday, May 28.

Fantasy Tip: J.B. Shuck ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been filling in for Garcia ($4,500, 9.0% of cap), and Shuck is a viable low-priced flier for FantasyScore players, however, cap relief might be his best asset and expectations should be kept in check. Shuck has just 45 plate appearances this season, after all.

White Sox | Avisail Garcia remains out

Tue, 26 May 2015 14:47:13 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia (knee) remains out of the starting lineup Tuesday, May 26, and he'll likely be out again Wednesday, May 27. However, manager Robin Ventura doesn't think the injury will require Garcia to go on the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: With Garcia hurting, J.B. Shuck ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) continues to see starts in the outfield. He's merely a deep sleeper option at FantasyScore, but he'll save you plenty of valuable loot to fill out the rest of your lineup.

White Sox | Avisail Garcia left game

Mon, 25 May 2015 17:38:24 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia (knee) left the game Monday, May 25, against the Toronto Blue Jays, due to recurrence of soreness in his right knee. Garcia is considered day-to-day.

Fantasy Tip: Garcia ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) missed two games last week and he poses far too big of a risk on FantasyScore right now. Owners will need to wait awhile before employing Garcia in their lineups.
