Ryan Williams Fantasy Football News, Notes, Rumors and Statistics
News | Statistics | Player vs. Team | Utilization | Injury History | Depth Chart | Team Roster
Thu, 02 May 2013 18:12:26 -0700 Arizona Cardinals RB Stepfan Taylor will compete for playing time this year behind RB Rashard Mendenhall. As The Arizona Republic's Kent Somers suggests, Taylor isn't a very fast running back, but he's elusive and durable. RB Ryan Williams has had serious injuries in each of the last two years.
Fri, 22 Feb 2013 05:21:08 -0800 Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said the team is expecting big things from RB Ryan Williams. "We watched him against Philadelphia," Keim said, "We watched him against New England, his lateral quickness, his natural run skills, his avoidability is something he brings to the table. Plus he's a three-down back. We're expecting big things out of Ryan moving forward."
Tue, 12 Feb 2013 18:06:15 -0800 Arizona Cardinals RB Ryan Williams (knee, shoulder) is confident he can make his way back from a second season-ending injury in as many years in the NFL. His rookie season ended when he ruptured his right patella tendon in the preseason, and his second season ended after the fifth game when he suffered a coracoids process fracture to his left shoulder in a game against the St. Louis Rams. He admitted Tuesday, Feb. 12, that he is worried about his spot on the roster. "Who wouldn't?," Williams asked. Fantasy Tip: The good news for Wiiliams is that head coach Bruce Arians is a fellow Virginia Tech alum who is very familiar with what the running back can do when healthy. Williams is also excited that Arians has used a zone blocking scheme, and hopefully will again in Arizona. It is a system Williams has excelled before. If he can get healthy, he might be worth a middle-round pick on Draft Day as a RB3 or flex option. He could be quite a bargain if he can ever play to his potential.
Fri, 18 Jan 2013 17:58:16 -0800 Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians is reportedly a big fan of RB Ryan Williams, and he lit up when speaking about the tailback's ability Friday, Jan. 18. Both Arians and Williams are Virginia Tech alumni. Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Arians, the former offensive coordinator with the Indianapolis Colts, plans to ride Williams as his No. 1 back. Williams has had trouble staying healthy, but if he can stay on the field, he might be a Top 20 fantasy option at his position in 2013. At the very least, he'll be a serviceable RB2 or flex option assuming the team doesn't look for help outside of the organization.
Wed, 26 Dec 2012 16:38:59 -0800 Arizona Cardinals RB Ryan Williams (shoulder) said he's feeling the best he has in two years after rehabbing his shoulder; he will have a follow-up surgery this week. Williams plans to be a full participant for offseason workouts.
Sun, 14 Oct 2012 18:13:09 -0700 Arizona Cardinals RB William Powell carried 14 times for a team-high 70 yards in the Week 6 game against the Buffalo Bills. He stepped up with RBs Beanie Wells (toe) and Ryan Williams (shoulder), and fellow RB LaRod Stephens-Howling struggling with just 11 carries and 22 yards.
Tue, 09 Oct 2012 20:36:11 -0700 The Arizona Cardinals lost RB Ryan Williams (shoulder) to season-ending Injured Reserve, and there are rumors flying around about potential targets either through free agency or trade. One name that makes sense is New Orleans Saints RB Chris Ivory through trade, or former Cardinals RB and current free-agent Tim Hightower (Redskins). However, the latter is unlikely, as he is still not all the way back from a knee issue.
Tue, 09 Oct 2012 10:07:15 -0700 The Arizona Cardinals placed RB Ryan Williams (shoulder) on the Injured Reserve Tuesday, Oct. 9, and signed free-agent CB Crezdon Butler (Redskins) in a corresponding move.
Mon, 08 Oct 2012 12:33:29 -0700 Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said RB Ryan Williams (shoulder) will need three months to recover from the surgery he will have on his shoulder. Whisenhunt did not go into detail about the specifics of the injury.
Mon, 08 Oct 2012 11:46:01 -0700 Arizona Cardinals RB Ryan Williams (shoulder) will miss the rest of the year with a shoulder issue that will require surgery. Fantasy Tip: Look for LaRod Stephens-Howling to step in with an increased role, and for William Powell and Alfonso Smith to be options as well for the Cardinals. Stephens-Howling should be your first target if you were a Williams owner and need a RB.
