Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Dave Wannstedt said Thursday, Feb. 16, the two biggest reasons for optimism regarding the team's switch to the 4-3 are DL Kyle Williams and DL Marcell Dareus and the team's 2011 rookie class. By the end of last season, the Bills had four rookies with prominent roles on defense.

Buffalo Bills DL Marcell Dareus said he is willing to play defensive end in a 3-4 defensive alignment or defensive tackle in a 4-3 defensive alignment depending on what the defense will look like. Dareus said he will also look to slim down to 320 to 325 pounds during the offseason. He play between 327 pounds and 330 pounds this season.

Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey said Tuesday, Dec. 20, that he is optimistic DL Marcell Dareus (hand) will be available for the Week 16 game against the Denver Broncos. "Marcell will be out there, we're going to have to really protect that hand to make sure that it doesn't get damaged any further," Gailey said.
