Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert said throwing to elite receivers is easy because of their talent level, which is one of the reasons he is excited the team selected rookie WR Justin Blackmon in the first round. Gabbert said he and Blackmon are the same age and went through the same situation, so it will be easy for them to relate to each other. He added Blackmon's transition to the NFL will be helped by the likes of veteran WRs Mike Thomas, Laurent Robinson and Lee Evans.

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Chad Henne said Saturday, April 14, that he expects to enter training camp with the idea of competing for the starting role, and if that doesn't happen, he'll back up QB Blaine Gabbert. "If they like your style and the way you play, they'll pick you," Henne said. "If not, you move on. Whatever your choices are, I'm going to be the same person and compete the best I can."

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey said Tuesday, March 27, that he is confident in QB Blaine Gabbert, and his ability to grasp the playbook. "The things he's been doing, we'd like to see it more consistently the way we want to do it. There are flashes there when he has done that. The throws, the decisions and all of that, they are there," Mularkey said. "It absolutely is there on tape what he's capable of doing."
